YGPM. Has happened to me multiple times, and I always jsut assumed this was the way it was designed. If not, well...I'm due a strong 200 reputation at least for what I've lost over the past week.

It would be nice to know how reputation is supposed to work. From my observation it always resets to zero when you zone. I, and I think most others, assumed this was the intended behavior.

Reputation is intended to decay at a rate of 2.0 per day, though I should mention it's calculated continuously, not at a set period.
It's not supposed to reset to 0 (unless of course you logged out long enough for it to decay to 0 naturally), but I've only managed to reproduce it once (out of many, many attempts). I've made some changes for the next patch that may prevent it from happening, but I still haven't nailed down the exact problem. All of your reports help quite a bit, folks, much appreciated.
I believe I've lost large amounts of rep (~100) without it actually resetting to 0 before. I lose my rep almost daily it seems, on multiple toons. I've had it happen without logging out.
I'd be looking for bogus time values in your decay algorithm. Perhaps a negative signed integer being converted into a large unsigned integer or such. I seem to recall there being a bug with huge negative reps in beta as well, chances are the bugs are related if you guys only implemented a hack to prevent the negative reps without actually figuring out what was causing them.
I hope you have a way to give us back all our lost rep too. 
Yeah, my first PVP BB experience was last night, and I was at 7.2 Rep, and as of this morning i was 0.0 and said: PVP Disabled again.

My rep was 100.8 lastnight and I recieved Forward Observer badge which says I have achieved a rep of 400 
. Shortly before that I got a badge for being in BB for 5 hours :0
Thanks for looking into this WeirdBeard. When I logged in after my first night of PVP my rep had decayed approx 2 points (12 to 10) like you said. However when I re-entered a PVP zone, specifically Bloody Bay, It had reset to 0. Perhaps it resets to 0 when you leave and re-enter a PVP zone??? Hope this helps.
I sent you a PM on this - I've had exactly the same problem. I got the 200 and 400 pt badges seemingly out of nowhere and my reputation resets to 0 everytime I leave the zone for any reason - log out, instance, LD whatever..it seems completely nonpersistant for me. (It's not just that I am not earning any either - I have checked it on the Info screen, noted it at 10-12 even as high as 15 before I log or enter a mission and it zips to 0 as soon as I zone.)
I got my 400 badge before I got my 200 badge, and I got both without doing any PvP. I had completed a mission, though, so I was assuming they had changed whatever gave the badges but not updated the text of the badges themselves.
Just to warn people, I lost all my PvP rep for gaining the Atlas medallion - pm sent to weirdbeard before people point me in his direction but

How do you trade the bounty for xp? you can't just give away xp like you can infamy.
I am just curious why you had to revive a four month old post.
As for your question, I believe they have changed the rewards system in Siren's Call and you can no longer get xp for bounty (I could be wrong). To get your reward for bounty, go to proper contact by the entrance to cash it it. You will get a rewards windowm, like when you complete a story-arc or respec, to choose your option (1k for medium inspiration, 6k for SO? - only happened once for me so I don't remember).

Reputation isn't supposed to decay or reset???
Everyone I know has this problem! I've killed approximately a billion people and my reputation was at 10 last night. I'll check when I log in tonight but I bet it's back to 0.
