The Fastest??? A Travel power Guide
You can already get the flaming comet appearance...the FX do stack, even if the powers themselves dont. I saw a guy in Talos a while back with both. It looks just like you would think it looks...which is to say, cool.
How Exactly do you test the speed of teleport, considering that a large part of it is based on the reflexes of the user, clicking at the very moment that the new screen appears. I know, because I have TP on my main.
he uses a macro
Do sprint, swift and superspeed compound? Or is superspeed the only "running" that's on? If not if you have a good sprint and swift can you run faster than 90mph?

They do stack, but the max ground speed is still ~90 mph. I am in the process of making a new guide... with compounded travel powers and exact speeds for each power. The fastest ground speed I have tested and gotten repeatedly is 92.53 mph (with many combos including 6 slotted SS alone, 2 slotted SS alone, and a 1 slotted SS, Sprint and Swift combo). My original tests were a little sloppy which is why I approximated speeds. My newer methods seem more accurate and produces repeatable results. I'll post my new guide when I am finished testing all the travel powers.

Uh oh, I better get out the first edition of my guide then. :-) I did a PB Power Guide, then got more interested in levelling my Khelds than finishing the movement guide.
The max sustained ground speed I've measured is 135.65 feet/second, which is 92.49 MPH. Given that we only differ by 0.04%, it looks like we agree.
Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.
I've moved on to Diablo 3, TopDoc-1304
Just FYI... Easiest way to test fly. You will need a little help. Get a teammate to stand in front of positron. go down the street. select the teammate and hit follow.
Another sad bit of info.... (Back when elude could be made perma)
Elude (no speed enh) + swift (default one speed enh) + quickness (default one speed enh) = 4 slotted fly.

6-slotted with DOs, it is about the same speed as walking (maybe a little faster).
[/ QUOTE ]
I think of it as the same speed as walking with unslotted swift (of course, my swift is never unslotted, but....) when the 6 DO's are green (such as when your magic-origin just finishes julius to buy up some of those gems he's got ). You do slow noticeably when they turn white and again when they hit yellow though. Still, think of it this way when they're green--would you rather be walking at X speed (with the various problems involving lack of safety and dodging obstacles, to say nothing of aesthetics!), or flying at 0.95X speed? I'm plenty happy with my 6-DO-hover, especially in the Hollows!
Now, Speed boost (if you can get hit with it) is DEFINITELY your friend in a perma hover build, and it's too bad my chars with siphon can't fly....
I would like to Refer everyone to TopDoc's new travel power guide, it is excellent!!!
TopDoc's Complete Movement Guide
So I take it ED has pretty much gutted the purpose of this thread now.
Hover is officially worthless again.

Could you elaborate for us noobs?
5 or 6 slotted Hover was often used as a Combat Movement power after I4 (and the travel suppression that came with it)
It
1) was cheap
2) offered some DEF
3) offered KB/KD protection
4) was fast enough for combat/indoor travel
5) offered vertical mobility.
I had Hover and SuperSpeed and they worked very well together.
Now, Hover speeds are reduced to about 2/3 of their previous maximum. Its about 20mph, instead of 30mph.
SPRINT is faster than HOVER can ever be, with ED in place.
You cannot chase down a runner with HOVER in I6, making it far less useful for melee toons.
In I6,
Hover is
1) cheap
2) Offers a TINY SMIDGE of DEF
3) Offers KB/KD protection
4) Is NOT fast enough for combat/indoor movement
5) Offers reduced vertical mobility
I still have it, as it is one of my 2 options for KB/KD as a /DA scrapper.
It was a "SLOT HEAVY GEM" of a power and now its just "A polished rock"

But if you have even a little lag you start to get lag falls. So imagine being really high up in the air (in a hazard zone) and have your computer freeze with lag. You are now falling. If the lag ends before you hit the ground you can TP to the next place. However, if it doesn't you've just had a huge fall, potentially removing quite a few of your hit points. Add this into the chance of falling into a mob and you can see that there are some fairly large dangers with being a TPer.

Get Hover, and have it on when you tp.

-snip-
I usually prefer to have both SS and fly. SS is cheap (effectively no prerequisite, doesn't take an extra pool) and fairly fast for long distance travel, and fly gives the greatest advantage in battle and the best mobility, and for long range travel, it lets me get over obstacles that SS would have trouble with. If fly were faster, all other travel powers would be fairly obsolete.

My wish is for SS and flight to stack. So you could activate both and get SS rate of travel with flights freedom of movement. A big plus would be the flaming comet appearance. Fire Blasters around the world would rejoice.
