Colisseum.

I REALLY think you need to reconsider...

Issue 4: Salsa and Two Burritos, has a very festive ring to it

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, with Kheldians being bleh, I really don't want to wait until Cinco de Mayo before resubscribing.

Issue 4: Colisseum
Contains PVP in way of gladiator style arenas. Togas and sandals as a new costume choice that's unlocked at level 16. Spartan style SK........way too much "love" if you know what I mean. Paragon Dance Party will be renovated to add columns and flying butresses. Along with a crown of olive leaves, and maybe even wings for your back, or feet!

I think it would be hilarious if it turned out that I4 contained no PvP.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think it'd be great for I4 to contain a single new chest decal, and nothing else. It could be called: "Whine about this"

I can't imagine coming into work, 40 to 50 hours a week, to do something I love and be able to express myself artistically, only to have thousands of people complain, scream, whine, threaten me, etc.

I for one LOVE the devs! GO DEVS! You guys rock!

Variants:

1. coliseum
2. colosseum
5. coliseums
6. colosseums

(edited out non-related words)

Yes, it was a typo, as the 'i' and 'o' are beside each other on the modern American style keyboard.

colisseums is incorrect. Apparently when spelled with an 'i', the second 's' is dropped. Who knows why? Our English language is really rebellious---breaking it's own rules at a whim.

It is NOT the same word.

IT was my understanding that we are speaking modern English here, not medieval Frankish or Norman.

THe correct modern spelling is Colosseum, unless States (Who is waaaaay overeducated for his own good) is having fun with words (not beyond the scope of possibility). Since the CoH universe is a parallel Earth, they may have simply chosen to spell it THAT way in that dimension, and OUR way, as we spell it here, may be considered the "wrong" way to spell it.

Yeah! And I have some land east of Miami Beach that I want to sell you. It's right on the water. You can walk to the beach from it.

I always thought the descriptive "Land right on the water" was funny. What the hell is it, a big shelf? An overhanging cliff? Seriously...

Waterside, lakeside, oceanfront properties... those make sense. Land on the water... umm... would it not fill the water were there enough of it, or possibly just become sumberged...

Maybe I'm overanalyzing this.

Was thinking of that, as well...So it could be 'co leez zium' which would be an entirely different thing than colosseum--colo see um. I'll switch to a latin dictionary and do a search.

So what book is that from? Would be chapter 4, 13, 22, or 31 if it follows the standard the others have set...

Check out my "Rule Britannia" series if you feel like something different. The arcs are #19599, #20575, #23977, #134775, #134923 and #144543. The series is complete, but spinoffs are in the works.

Wow. I guess there won't be any guessing games this time around.

Well, my search through a latin dictionary reveals that the word:

'colosseum'

Isn't a proper latin word, at all, regardless of spelling. It's a poetic, inflected form of 'colosseus' which simply means: big, large, huge, larger-than-life.

Is States being even more cryptic than usual? Maybe he's trying to tell us the next Issue will be, ahem, pardon me, colossal?

heh

I do, and if I recall my Classic Civ classes, I think Sparta was the conservative town in the Peloponese -- they frowned on all that Sophist nonesense Athens was where the fun was at!
