Once you hit 40, cool stuff happens. I hear this all over the place. How come I can't do those neat things earlier? Yeah, I understand that there should be some things that are saved for the high level content. But would it be so bad if one or two portal missions showed up in the 20s?

And how about some archvillians in the story arcs? We get exactly one archvillian prior to level 20 (I'm not counting task forces, this is missions), zero through level 34 (my highest toon, I assume it's really through 39), and (based on reading the boards) a ton of them post-40. Couldn't one or two get moved into the lower levels?

I think there are 2 Archvillains in the 35-39 region (purely in the Story Arcs, of course), one of whom you fight repeatedly. There are also a number of cool new Boss types that you'll find during the Arcs, although unfortunately you won't see most of them again after you're done the Arcs.

I never got that one, unfortunately. I think my favourite arc was the "Will of the Earth". Although I don't really like fighting the Devouring Earth, the plot twist in there of finding out the "origin of Hamidon" was really cool.

Yes...

[/ QUOTE ] I finished the Will of the Earth story arc but I don't remember finding out the origin of Hamidon...Can you PM it to me?

I think he means The Terra Conspiracy where you learn how Hamidon came to be and where his name comes from. Gotta read the clues.

Posted

Yeah, the Terra Conspiracy was a solid arc story-wise and background-wise. Will of the Earth was just another in the constant succesion of X Plague Threatens the City.

Although the Terra Conspiracy did tie in with the Will of the Earth much like General Z tied in with an earlier skyraiders arc.

I just wish you would get there too late and have to follow him through the portal...

[/ QUOTE ]

I'd actually asked about that when I was writing it. Just too much new art and not enough time to get it done, unfortunately.

MUST DO THIS! RETURN OF UBALMANN!

That would be so cool! Even if it was just a portal mission to the past.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just check with EA, or whoever it is that owns the C&C Red alert franchise nowadays, for permission to mess with Nazi's and time portals. (Very big grin)

Seriously, an extension to that Arc could be one of the coolest things ever to hit CoH.

As people have said, the souvenir is a one of a kind. Hypodermic needles? Etched clockwork parts? Bandanas? Bleh - boring. Souvenir from Ubelmann? Creepy. Way good creepy.

HUGE

SPOILER WARNING!!

You have been warned!

It turns out that Hamidon used to be a guy, a scientist who's first name I can't remember, but his last name was (obviously) Hamidon. He was an environmentalist, but a bizarre experiment gone wrong turned him into the being he is today. The rest of the arc dwells on finding his former girlfriend, who he wants to use as the "mother" of a new species of being.

Oops. Well, it was a good 10 levels ago >_>

That is "The Terra Conspiracy" arc which has an AV in it.

35-39 mission givers.
Hamidon was the guys first name from what I recall. I got the mission on an alt so let me check.

Indeed Ubelmann was one of the best arcs i ever did. Very good job on that one.
I've heard that Requiem comes back in another arc. if he does, does he recognize you?

Thanks, bro. Very nice writing, you captured the comic feel very well in it.

Personally my absolute favourite (even though it was a single mission) was the 'Destoyer of Worlds' portal mission.

Wow. Some real creative thinking went into that one! - I didn't see the 'twist' coming until I read the clue (of course).

That mission soooooooooo needs a 'Destroyer of Worlds' badge to go along with it. (please treat this as an Official Petition!).

Heck, a lot of my SG did a whole new (eeevil) costume after each of them got that mission.

Yii...

I'm looking for the Ubelmann mission now. I'm 29th level, pumping my contacts in Indepence Port. What's the first mission of Ubelmann, so I can look for it.

Thanks,

That's the Council Empire, you.

EDIT: Curse you, thread necromancers!
