Try throwing the trops so only a part of them are in laying inside the mob. That will generally cause the mob to scatter in one direction. Throwing them in the middle of the mob is just gonna scatter them everywhere.
You should make a demorecord the next something like this comes up. You've made 2 threads today where we have nothing but your account of what happened and the accused doesn't get to tell his side of the story. -
Do we know if shards will be tradable at the market?

Quote:Its called "Drill Sergant Tank Syndrome". I won't play on those teams for more then a mission or two but I feel I should point out Why that behavior still exists in this game 4 or 5 years after GDN.Okay, so, I've been on a lot of pugs. Usually, how it works is, if we have a tanker, brute, or scrapper (roughly in that order by preference), that toon charges into a new group, and everyone else follows, laying down AoEs and controls and the like. Ten or twenty seconds later, one blaster stays to finish off the last boss who's been triple-held and debuffed into a pile of soft goo, while the tanker runs on to the next group.
I was in a group last night that was... not like this. The tank would run to a location (say, a doorway), and say "Herding to here, stay clear". He'd then run out to a group, hit them, run back, hit them more, and then say "Come get some", and everyone would start attacking. Ten or twenty seconds later, we'd all sit there while he decided what to go after next and the scenario repeated. (There were a couple of other macros involved, like "jumping in, wait for mob to condense").
Now, since I was on a traps/ defender, I thought it was sort of neat having all my long-recharge powers available for every single pull, but I can't help but wonder what's up with this. Does this work? Does it produce better results in some way? Is there some kind of mechanic here I'm not aware of, that makes this desireable?
It felt a little like watching a WoW tank, who might want to get at least one hit on each of several things before other people attacked, but in CoH, other players aren't as ludicrously squishy -- you don't expect a blaster to get one-shotted by any attack from a typical creature you're fighting, for instance. So what, if anything, am I missing?
People have a habit of just spamming any power that's recharged. AOE Immoblizes, Knockback, Plants confuse. All great powers, but if every member of the team is just gonna start spamming those powers a mob is not gonna packed close enough for Melee AOE.
There's a few other reasons, Agro rhymes with ego, some tanks think they are the most important part of the team, this behavior just reinforces it.
The power Taunt is a crutch, and if you spend your life walking with a crutch you'll never learn to walk on your own.
If player sees a tank use this behavior and be successful they may imitate this behavior is they ever roll a tank. -
When the Devs introduced the last two PBAOE sets, Erads and Oblits, neither set came with any end reduction at all. I've never 6 slotted either set, and while the Muscular and Spiritual boosts look awesome, I'm gonna have to spend some time in Mids with my Katana and think about 6 slotting some Oblits.

Quote:A level shift is going to be similar to having Fortitude cast on you. When a level 54 cons as a 53 level you do more damage, your mez last longer, your defense is stronger, you have greater accuarcy/tohit. It's not that your stats are being buffed in this case, the enemies have less resistance to every thing you do.I guess this is the thing I'm least excited for in i19 and beyond. I just don't get it. We can already IO our toons out to godly proportions, and now with the new Alignment Merit system, it's really not difficult to do... and most of the game isn't very difficult to begin with. I've yet to run into anything in this game that I can't complete, most of it in a duo, and TFs with a competent team - not even an expert team, just a competent one. I just don't get the point of making our characters godly powerful... in order to do what? And are the upcoming TFs really going to be of a carefully balanced difficulty where the extra regen/damage boost is going to be the make or break point? I think it's a lot more likely that they'll be more difficult and any good team will be able to do them fine, because I can't see a way to predicate the difficulty on a boost like that - especially when we're choosing which boost we want. Are controllers who don't take the mez boost going to be unable to complete them?
I mean, yay powers, everyone loves their toon to be awesome, but it seems like it's just there to BE powerful. -
But will they turn the milk into an enriche golden color?

Quote:Whatever get pulled from this toon will get tossed into base storage for the time being. Are you selling or transferring? The Basilisk's Gaze set is needed for many Controller or Dominator builds and also some of the Blast and Buff sets. I would never throw one of those away because I always have characters who need them, though maybe just because I play so many ATs that have holds.
Malaise's Illusions is totally not worth bothering with IMO as even the purple Confuse set comes in cheap.
I agree about Malaise's being worthless, I had two sets of Malaise's slotted in this toon from level 35 to 50 and pulled one out in order to slot the purple set. That set I pulled out, almost 2 years ago is still sitting in base storage. -
Quote:Something about the way you worded that makes me think of Ron Burgundy. So from now on when I read your post I'll be hearing Burgundy's voice in my head.
I don't always make posts about storyline, but when I do, I post about The Coming Storm. Stay speculative, my friends.

Quote:Storage was set so high in bases since the Devs thought the player base would move towards base raids and items of power. In IOP PVP the items in your base could be destroyed so a large amount of storage would theoretically be needed. Of course this didn't happen.
Some of things I read about bases and storage have been that the developers limited the storage space to limit the item count and also this is why they changed the amount of salvage storage bin can hold. I have heard/read that it deals with backup times as the more items stored, the more data needed to back up and I also read that too many items in a base which storage space contributed to would or could cause bases to become corrupted.
The too many items in a base causing corruption, from what I remember, was due to way way too many decrotive items. I was warned to never go over 5000 items. It didn't have anything to do with the amount of items in storage.
That has nothing to do with your suggestion, I'm still trying to digest the total concept of it. I'm hung up on the idea that there shouldn't be anything rare in the game except purples. There does exist junk salvage and IOs in the game and I wish a system existed that gave them a value above vendortrash but I'm afraid your idea would make everything vendortrash. Why go sell Alchem Silver at the market when anyone can just get the cheapest option at the market and then convert that into Alchem Silver? Nothing dropped below level 50 would have any value. -
Its called Patrol XP. As long as you have any blue bar left you will earn double xp until your blue bar is all gone. You can have a full 10 bulbs of Patrol XP, you earn a bulb of Patrol xp every 24 hours you are logged out of the game.

I have a time travel manners and etiquette question.
If Mister Montecristo of the MIdnighters sends me back in time to Crimeroa and tells me this time travel excursion I'm about to go on should be kept secret from Mender Nemesis is it rude of me to use my Oportal to get back to Paragon and my time? -

Right on, I haven't played an emp in years but I remember how lame the root time on that power was.

I got my baby seeds ready for the day I need them.
Titian ever makes the system I want Shadow Fate, you are going have a whole litter of Fionna Apples
Don't worry Shadow, she looks pretty thin, I'm sure you could have a litter of 8 or 9 and it wouldn't force you to buy any bigger pants. -
With the sweat on your brow still fresh from all the hard work everyone put into this most awesome feature ever, now might not be the right time to start asking whats next. But, if you someday full fill my next request, I guarantee you I will force the next person who posts after me to have your baby.
I realize there would be multiple babies involved, but I wouldn't make each of you share one baby. Full fill my request and I guarentee the person who posts after me will have a baby for each and everyone one of you.
You Get a Baby
You Get a Baby
Everyone Gets a Baby
If you ever build a system that lets me export the contents of base storage into a system similar to mids, the next poster after is going to be so busy dropping babies.
*If you are the unlucky poster after and Titian develops a base storage exporting system, you better start getting every beverage you drink delivered unopened and still in the can, you better start preparing your own meals since I plan on slipping a baby seed into your food and your gonna have a whole litter of babies grow up in your tummy. -
I'm stripping the IOs out of my Perma Dom, I burned up my vetspecs and treespecs getting to perma dom and I'm not interested spending money on a respec recipe. I have two freespecs coming with I19 and I'm gonna use them to pull 20 more IOs off this character and then hit the delete button.
With the help of the new City Info Tracker export to Mids feature you get to help me decide which 20 to keep and which 20 to delete. Its not an easy task since all the purples and almost all the LotGs are already pulled out.

Seth Rogan as the Green Hornet
Its an action/comedy staring Seth Rogan. After watching the trailer all I can think about is the scene in Funny People when Adam Sandler points out Seth was funnier when he was chubby. -

Is Penelope Yin in the BAF? Is Mother's hospital located in the BAF or is it in a seperate location?
