Nah, leading one team was enough for me. I'm enough of a jerk as it is, apparently.
-
What?
There's been plenty of helpful posts in this thread so far. -
Quote:You're exaggerating a bit. While everyone may say that Vert gets farmed, for the sheer purpose of fitting in, he really doesn't. Also, he locks targets faster than 98% of the playerbase that PL'd and fully PvP IO'd out their Psy/EM blasters. He's also a decent target caller and has probably played and filled more roles successfully on a team than you have.
I would much rather be a "noob" being farmed than a supposed to be Veteran player being farmed.
I'm not saying that he's incapable of dying, but lauding a player for dying on an offensive toon (a prime target to be called) in a system with delayed damage is pretty funny. I've seen just about every blaster get "farmed". Evasion, fast locking and decent communication are hard to come by.
On another note, you mentioned that we should try to get private PvP practice matches going as opposed to "stacking" teams in Kickballs? We ask for 8v8s practically every night on Freedom, to no avail.
We've practiced twice against Bitter's team? Granted, our Friday practice yielded plenty of matches. We've practiced against Dex's team on numerous occasions, and once against Divine's team. I'm sure the fierce beating that Divine's team took has discouraged them from any further practice sessions with us.
Point is, don't ask us to do something that we're already trying to do nightly. And don't blame us if people don't want to practice with us.
Kickball can be just as competitive as any other form of PvP in this game. Friday night PuGs on Test back in the day were exactly the same format. Normally there was always a stacked team that ended up dropping bombs. The majority of the players involved in this kickballs were aware of that. It's part of the reason why I dislike those type of matches to begin with.
Your form of "balancing" the teams out for matches on live is pretty laughable too, considering it involves taking a ton of people that you know I team with, putting them on your team, and ensuring that a TA is on your team so I spend 10 minutes glue arrow'd with blasters that couldn't find a target, much less navigate their weiner out of a diaper. -
Personally I think Kickballs are garbage, but there are definitely ways that you can get your foot in the door. Nothing is guaranteed though.
1. Be on vent.
2. Be able to talk enough to announce things like target locks (even if you're slow like the majority of the population in this game), phases, evasion, and being disrupted.
3. Bring a decent toon.
4. Die less than -Divine.
Eventually someone will mention that you did "pretty good", and you'll end up getting picked again.
Kat makes a lot of us out to be jerks, I'm positive I'm one of those people. I'm okay with that.
If you follow the above suggestions, you'll have a better chance at getting picked for matches, I'd wager. -
-Divine theorized that Archery blasters would be top tier, thus, Archery blasters are top tier.

I like how I created the SG name but you get to be leader before I am.
RAGIN'. -
I'll gladly trade any PLed toon that is considered top tier in this current system to have PvP back to what it was pre-i13, including the enhancements and influence. Such a rollback could restart competitive Test PvP, where it didn't matter how much of a life you didn't have on live.

Quote:No way dude, wow you're such a liar. I'm so disappointed in you.Yes, most of those AE badges are global. The others came after I hit 50 when I wanted to play the character but not worry as much about him dying (since then I could rationalize that it happened in a 'holodeck', not out on patrol). I got to 50 playing on PuGs with the first people to ask me; if no one was asking, I grabbed anyone who was lft.
I started the character to see how far I could take it without dying, after Fury had attempted a similar project. I had a couple very close calls, including a DoT that took me down to 2 health with me out of inspirations and no healing available. It was a fun project, more intense than normal.
You can doubt, deny, or denigrate it all you want, but I did it w/o farming, PL, etc. Didn't even team with folks I know for the most part, just to make it more chaotic. It's a great combo, with tons of debuffs and tools for surviving. -
Yeah, I know. It was just funny giving him **** about GMing that game, with it's population of 3 players in Bulgaria.
-
Also, you had the homie B l e a k as a GM to back you up.

1 pvp toon?
I'll take my rad/cold. -
I wasn't talking about graphics either. There are some games that can withstand the test of time, while others that were good when they were released don't exactly match up later on in their lifespan. It doesn't take anything away from the game then.
My Resident Evil II example still stands. I'm not sure where you got me talking about graphics only from, but okay.
Edit: You played a Tribes game for the story? lol @ u. -
Quote:Yeah, I'm glad I've got job security. It's made moving back out there a lot easier.Yea so many people lost thier homes out here it isnt even funny also jobs are hard as hell to get here right now.
I'd read somewhere that Stockton had the highest foreclosure rate though. Huh. -

Quote:You played a game that was released in 2004, and developed prior. Of course you're going to find the game to be "atrocious". Most 3rd person action games and FPSes don't exactly have a long shelf life, especially at the rate that engines are being pushed out.Speaking of which, I just got Tribes Vengeance....never got around to playing it around 2004 and kind of forgot about it until now. And now that I got it I can say....wow, what a horrible game. The single player is atrocious. From the great reviews, I figured it would at least be half decent
Tribes is actually one of the best examples of I13 type changes, as is Unreal Tournament. It seems that's the trend of the last decade....make hard games easy, so every noob can do well, and the company can make more money with more sales. Too bad for those of us that are actually good at games.
Tribes 1 required an insane amount of skill. Tribes 2 was made easier, and the vast majority of the hardcore community hated it, because of that. Tribes Vengeance was made even easier, and a total of like 9 serious Tribes players even bothered playing it.
UT 1999 required tons of skill. So UT2k3 and the following sequels made it easier and easier....and of course, the vast majority of the hardcore players despised them.
And then we get to CoH....PvP took skill, and then skill was taken away and we got I13 instead.
Hell, now that I think about it, I13 wasn't unexpected. It's what every game developer is doing these days, it seems. Make the game easy enough for retarded monkeys to play, and you'll make more money, because you won't be ruling out any retarded monkeys that may buy the game.
I r so smart!
Resident Evil 2 was an amazing game when it first released, but it'd be pretty hard for me to go back and play the original version without banging my head against the desk in frustration. Controls have come a long way since then. -
His opinion obviously means something to you if it's getting you so heated.
Oops.
