PvP Archer?

Is Archery a decent set for blaster in PvP? My main concern is whether or not the lethal damage gets resisted too much by many opponents vs. one of the other sets.

On paper archery's damage might look quite good, but over all Psy sonic and fire, maybe even rad, all perform better.

If you really want to roll a arch blaster, talk to the arch guru, divine.

I have fun on my arch/dev, but in all honestly you'd be better off with psi, fire, rad, sonic and possibly even nrg.

I say rad trumps arch for its procablity along with the stun built into the attack. Possibly nrg since you can slot it with the smashing procs for extra damage, but thats up for debate. Another drawback of arch is the redraw issue since it uses a weapon. Not a huge concern if you know what you're doing but its still there.

Pretty much. with rad you can slot 4 damage procs into an attack with like a 1 second recharge, its crazy. I think energy lacks something to it, fire has a sick, quick flow of high damage, sonic can hit for crazy damage too, except shout can get annoying to use after a while, psy.. well we all know what the story is with psy, delayed dmg = spike, rad like we've all ready gathered easily procable.. so yeah unless you're rather experienced OP, i'd stick to fire psy sonic or rad.

Not unless you slot it for recharge, in which case you're missing out on half the reason to play Rad in the first place.

The only things Archery has going for it are the stun (Sonic and Rad both get these, though), the 80-foot tier 3 that does good damage because of its activation time, and a sizable inherent accuracy bonus, which makes it easier to cut through elusivity. Damage type is largely irrelevant in this iteration of PvP because all squishies get a decent amount of resistance to all types of damage. As others have said though, Psi, Sonic, Fire, and Rad are better, but if you're set on Archery, the best combination there is Arch/EM.

-Divine theorized that Archery blasters would be top tier, thus, Archery blasters are top tier.
