K then here is the build. 6 sec downtime on dull pain, 4 if you put a set of hecatombs in. Pretty sold on this build overall. Maybe one day if i get some extra money might go for some purps and the glad proc and see what is possible then.

Well, he is 32 now, done a few tfs, feels really solid on SOs only really. Elec is a lot more fun on a tank than a scrap if you ask me. Always felt to slow for a scrap to me. But it fits this tank very nice.
Any other thoughts on the build?
Are lotg +recharge bonuses different from other 7.5 bonuses? -
Yeah I might toy around with the Erad quad and cleaving blows on that one. I like the recovery bonus, and if I can keep the end usage about the same it be a win/win, except for price wise. I figure if I stay away from purps/pvp IOs, I should have the money by the time he is 47-50 range (and running TFs on alts for well drops). I'll be trying to do 5 tips a day with him to save some hero merits, as well as TF reward merits along the way.
I'm still debating on whether or not to strip down my sd/stone tank for his lotgs and such, or just get other ones. This guy will more than likely replace my other two tanks I have. Altitis is a cruel mistress.
Thats very interesting about the LotG recharge bonus. Have you tried it in game to verify that they different?
In my latest build i used a trip with the kin combats, leaving out end redux. But I didn't think to change up the Erads.
Thank you ma'am -
Well, under further review, I've already got 5 of the 10% regen bonuses, the sciroco's would make 7, so went back with the cleaving blow for the recovery bonus. I also realized that without some def slotting into CJ i fall below the 45 on f/c. So i put just plain def in that, moved the kismet into tough hide. Lose 9 ACC bonus, but pick up 6 to hit, so I believe this is better.

Yeah the attack slotting makes sense, I'd toyed with the idea of 2 Scirocco's for the regen bonus though. He probably suggessted multi's cause they cheap, and maybe u did the same maybe.
The lotg helps the def, but I already have 5 of the 7.5% recharge speed bonuses, 4 from lotg and 1 from the taunt set, which is why I put the kismet in, and to help overall tohit/acc, unless lotg doesn't count as the same bonus as the one from the taunt set. Mids adds it, but I'm unsure if mids cuts you off at 5 set bonuses like in game. -
Sorry, added extra slot to charged brawl, 5 slotted crushing impact for 5% recharge, as well as good slotting and other bonuses. Puts DP to just under 10 second down time.

Thanks a ton for the build and advice, like the 4 slotting eradications and still getting 45% to all, its awesome.
As far as the fly/hasten thing, its mainly a theme deal. On the build below I switched hasten back for fly. Turned on the incarnate and hero accolades, and Dull Pain only has a 12 second down time. Its not perma, but I think its close enough for me really. Dude just thematically needs to be a flyer, and the hasten fists don't really fit for me either. The build is definatly better your way, juts for theme I think thats what I'm goin to go with.
There was 1 more slot left over, which I just threw into PP and 2 slotted Perf Shifter, end and +chance.
I will probably not use unstoppable all that much at all I'm sure. I really just kinda want it anyways for the rare times I would use it. We'll see I guess as I use it more, I may want to drop it.
And there were 6 7.5% recharge bonuses, with the taunt set and lotgs, so I changed that up a lil bit. Lemme know wht you think, although it essentially the same as what you just posted. -
Here is my newest project. I tried to get softcapped to all but psi, which he is. That, however, seems to be just about all that I accomplished. I have the following issues with this build I came up with:
1. Eradication sets - don't really like the damage and other numbers from 6 slotting this set, would like to accomplish same def numbers with another option.
2. Dull Pain - I'd like to get it perma, or close to perma. This build only has 37.5 recharge, no hasten (id like to skip hasten really). I am going for the Spiritual Core Paragon eventually (only 23 atm). I'm not even sure what the number to shoot for recharge would be with the new alphas. If purps are what are needed for perma dull pain i'd probably be willing if thats the last resort. If its not possible w/o hasten then maybe not.
3. I'm not opposed to switchin powers around, or taking laser beam eyes either. I'd like to have LBE actually but couldn't really get it in, although I know its a nice place for some good set bonuses.
I searched around for some inv/elec builds and couldln't really find any, although I did steal several ideas from the inv/ss builds floating around, so thanks to you all for those.
Any suggestions at all would be appreciated.

I had mu for the longest time on my current build, but did a simple switch (dropped elude, picked up fire) and I am loving fire mastery a lot. Yes, its one more polwer, but I have super high recharge so I just put one acc in it, and it will probably come up handy on lgtfs to help with greens. I liked fireball because it was more front loaded damage, whre as ball lightning is a dot. I know fireball has an additional dot component, but most of it is upfront damage. Animations are fairly important to me, and fireballs is better for me, as I just don't like the ball lighting animation much.
-
I figured one of yall had Werner so thats good to konw, thanks for letting me know its possible. 4 second downtime is nothing, as I usually have PB on auto on my ma/sr there are plenty of times i forget to pop hasten till i notice the end crash of the last one.
I might see what I can do with a ma/sd build now...wo'nt really need fireball (like on my ma/sr ) for added aoe to Ma/ because you have SC. I'd never reroll my main but the possibility of having all the benefits of sr with AAO and SC all in one toon seems awesome. And the cardiac alpha to boost end/resist would be awesome as well. Can probably get s/l resist to the same lvl that sr would get it when low on health all the time too. ... -
I asked the same question in another thread, and Werner said the most you can get it down to is like 72 seconds downtime. Not sure but I think that was using my 172.5 that I currently have on my ma/sr, with 3 recharge in elude, and the very rare recharge alpha. So you can get kinda close but still can't perma.
-
I gave up trying to convince people that you don't need a stoner and an emp to do STF. Granted its easier I guess, but it is not a prerequisite. I agree with Deathkitty up there, its a team tf, so buffs and debuffs are welcome. Once the red tower is down its all gravy.
If you say you have a toon that can solo STF your a liar, its a team oriented TF. -
With enough support my /sr scrap can tank about anything, LR included (dark debuff, ice shields and emp, it can be done).
Stone, invul, shield. dark is somewhre in there, but i've seen too many taht were too situational or too dependant on their builds. and by that I mean they were were IO'd out, but against one target their heal wasn't enough to sustain them, or a few def debuffs and they were floored. You could probably spend an equal amount on a rad def and tank as good as a dark tank.
I may have lost the original arguement in all the posts, but stone is by far the most survivable. Pair it with ice melee or dark and its even more so. If you wanna solo that bad just roll a scrap. -
fire/dark does sound very interesting, but fire/fire is so much fun. I have a dm/inv scrap that is really strong on just the SOs and few sets he has.
I think stone/dark might be good, but maybe overkill.
on that note tho, my first tank to 50 was stone/ice. No damage but he tanked and mitigated everything, best teaming tank ever if you ask me.
If I were you I'd roll wp or ice, although fire sounds alright i guess, but I've never really liked fire for tanks, aside from ticket farmin which mine does. With enough buffs it doesn't matter tho for STFs and such.
For a pure tank i think stone/dark would be just about the most sturdy tank i can really think of, probably more so than my stone/ice. but probably won't be pumpin out the damage though.
And if your against repeating sets, you might wanna look at ice melee, as tanks is the only place you can get it. -
I love /rad, because your hard hitting blast also stuns with mag 3, which is perfect for sappers, healers on itfs, and many others. it has has a pbaoe and a targeted aoe. sonic is probably better debuff, but its cones, and one is a sleep lol.
-
I don't think I've ever had end issues on a def while teaming, and solo on my cold you get heat loss, and some primaries have similiar effects. Defenders are the most end friendly toons out there.
-
No prob man. Looking at this build kinda makes me wonder if there is any real reason to have /sr over /sd. I have been a huge fan of /sr, but being able to be softcapped, full DDR (with enough recharge), and have resists all the time (not just when low on health), with AAO and SC seems a lot better than what /sr offers. Granted I do'nt think u can get softcapped and have perma hasten on a /sd, still makes me wonder....
-
Well my first love is scrappers, but my second is probably defs, although I have a couple tanks, but more to just have one available really than to play a lot.
My first def was a kin/psy, which i made because I so enjoyed having sb on me that I made one. Years later I never play it, but still have it around.
They def that is currently my IO project, 2nd incarnate, and toon I enjoy playin 2nd to my main (ma/sr) is a cold/rad def. Yes, you do have to buff, but it lasts 4 minutes, not 90 sec (or whatever) sb is. sleet is the biggest debuff, and its a patch not a rooted one. Snowstorm is rooted, half the colds do'nt take it i think, I take it, one slot for end, and usually only put it on AVs/GMs.
You might like FF, as its the same duration buffing as cold, and it has mez resist which most defs dont.
My cold/rad leaves plenty of time to blast. Buff up before groups, or during after sleet is down, then can blast and debuff the rest of the time. Benumb and infridigate I only use on AVs, or bosses if fighting +3/4s. On normal ITFs, for example, the bosses die to fast to really debuff in my opionion, other than sleet of course.
Maybe a fire/cold corruptor would be ur style. It would be late blooming I would think, but your end issues will totally disappear (spelling?) when you get Heat loss and some recharge bonuses. Fire blast is a real fun set. Your debuff numbers and def boosts won't be as high on a corr, and your cold powers come later, but maybe thats an option.
Or a cold/elec, as /elec has more melee based powers, or pbaoe. Although /rad has some I just don't take them. My cold/rad can solo 0/1 very easy and fairly quick. I posted his build recently as well, softcapped s/l/e/ranged and fairly close to perma hasten with new very rare alpha is available. Haven't played him too much since pimpin him out, but can definatly notice the added defense, which reminds me of playin a scrapper and not a blaster, in that im not afraid to get a lil aggro, and don't die after a few hits -
Yeah ive been looking at taking a slot out of the purps, but the damage/recharge one seems like it. I have the musclulature alpha, which puts me at 120% damage enhancement. I think I could remove this slot and still be at that when the alpha hits in game, just not sure really. I see what your saying definatly DSorrow thanks for the input.
-
Yeah looks pretty similiar really. I like going fire for the added AOE, and with two purp sets in fire mastery didn't have to mule out boxing, which I assume you don't use it. It would stack with other stuns nice though so maybe using it is alright. I like the slotting 6 slotting of weave and focused fighting, some very nice hp/regen bonuses there.
Mine has higher toxic and psi resist, but those just come from chance with purp sets really. Although 15% psi resist isn't a bad thing, but its not like on an /sr you get hit by much of it, except the non typed ones where it does help.
I need to look at mine and see how I can get away with 3 slotting some of my toggles, so I can 3 slot my passives again and get some more bonuses that way maybe.
Thanks you two for posting some comparisions, gives me some good ideas.
I'd somehow like to keep fly, fireball and blast, be softcapped, perma-hasten, and hit 2000 hit points, but I'm not seeing it.........surely someone around here can help..... -
I only changed a couple things. I four slotted shield breaker in LBE with 1 damage. Not the best slotting attack wise, you lose a little recharge bonus, but get to softcap (still 44.9 on ranged but close enough really). Stealth, even when noticed should still put you over 45%. I changed out stealth, however, for maneuvers. I think they about the same end cost, but maneuvers doesn't slow you down (if stealth still even does that, im not sure never use it) and will help the team out with grant cover as well. This one has you in the 48-49 range for defense, so that can open up some slotting. You can change LBE back if you want, or definatly change it once you get the glad proc. I would suggest you go for it first, then the purples, but thats just how I would do it. I also moved some slotting around and put the steadfast in OwtS until you get the glad proc, as you'll probably wnat to respec when you get it anyways, I know I did when I got it on my main.
Also, i put hamis in AD, to increase your DDR, but from the health slot with the miracle heal (not the proc tho). I have similiar slotting in my sd/stone tank, and I'm at ddr cap when im double stacked, although thats not all the time because he doesn't have enough recharge for it.
See what you think and let me know, but some of the changes are only for the ride to the glad proc so keep that in mind.

On my cold/rad, i put the achilles proc in sleet and the first blast. This way I figure against AVs and such, I should just about be guaranteed to get its effect on them. I thought about damage procs in sleet but I really didn't have enough room, i just did the achilles proc and 3 recharge. I could have probably only went two recharge but i wanted to max the recharge as much as possible.
-
Here is slotting that increases all, 9 acc, 7 dam, 9 end, 10 heal, 24 recharge. It does have two hami's though, but the heal one is usually cheap, and the acc/dam one could be purchased really cheap. If you can't get one real cheap send me a tell in game and I'll give you one, im on freedom too. I know you didn't want hami Os, but they cheap right now, and on my dark/inv scrap, siphon life is by far my favorite power. He is a vampire toon so it fits him a lot themeatically for me.
