Ok, compared to you guys I just suck. Here is what I am currently running on (been able to solo about 10 av's and run most missions at +2/8 but in comparision I feel inadequate):

Quote:I was told Melt Armor is a cool emote that eats up a lot of endurance and debuffs resistance less than a sonic blaster tier 1 attack
Aww, it's closed beta still. . . Dagnabit! -
Took Melt Armor to help solo AV's and thus far it has been greatly helpful. Plus the slotting on Ring of Fire and Melt Armor help my overall defenses once slotted.
I haven't had any end or recovery issues with this build at all so not seeing where I would need more slots in health or endurance? -
Afternoon all!
After hearing about the upcoming BotZ "reassignment" I have been working on tweaking my build. The only major issue I have is the slight reduction in my overall recharge (I had to drop Leadership pool and 2 spots for LotG +) has left my attack chain a little short when hasten isnt up.
Any advice?

Later Niv!
Best of luck in the new position. They are lucky to have you and we are saddened by our loss.
I am off to kick some carnie booty in your honor tonight! -
Rookies. . . 3 dogs and 2 cats here. . .
Gratz on the new fido though! Lean and quick looking soon to be thick and fast. . . Good food and love are never bad things with a new doggy! -
Quote:Well, what am I supposed to do while she is getting all prettied up the day of. . . I mean really, 4 hours in the salon before the wedding. God made me goofy looking and I take about 5 minutes to get ready.*slap*
Get married first, fool! RL>(RP)>XP
Remove the brackets if they do not apply.
That leaves 3 hours and 55 minutes to play! I will just have to set my alarm.
HA! -
But. . . but. . . July for GR!?!?!?
Awww, schucks. . . Guess my fiance doesnt have to worry about me playing GR during the weekend of our wedding and perhaps being late to the ceremony. . . Wait. . . If it is going to be a July release that means beta in May/June. . . Hmmm, pre-order entry into beta - check. Looks like she may have some worries afterall! -
I just have to say all hail our new overlord.
Television you are my hero!
And btw, first time for me. . . First after a redname. . .
Sorry it had to be done! -
Doh!?!?!
Forgot about that. . . Well, maybe they changed their minds. Or maybe that is just a big cover. . . Or maybe. . .
Okay, forget it. I just want GR here now! -
Okay, since there is no mention of Praetorian earth Recluse. . . Methinks, their Recluse = Hamidon???
Conjecture? Or does it fit to well since we havent seen anything about that universe's Recluse. -
Doing the same thing here. Been playing DA:O while I wait for GR info. Been away about a month now and only logged in twice. Ran 2 missions then headed out.
The other recommendation. . . Plan a wedding! Man, my fiance and I have been bombarded with stuff to do. . . And while our wedding is a destination wedding it only has 40 people. . . Cant imagine those of you who have done this with 100, 200, 300+ people! -
Evening all,
Ok I know there was a thread about this in the past but everytime I search for it it says forum no longer valid. Anyways, was hoping someone could help me:
Just got a new machine and am trying to transfer my old CoH files to the new system. I put the files on a thumb drive, transferred them to the new machine, tried the updater, and voila nothing happens or it starts to update and then shudders to a halt.
What I had:
Dell XPS 210 (Windows XP Pro)
What I have now:
Dell XPS 630i, (Vista Home Premium)
What am I missing here? Or is it the change over to Vista causing me problems. Both are dual core and I transfered the files to my Program Files (x86) -
Well think I am ready to take the plunge. After going through all the info i came up with the configuration below. Still around $1200 and the only thing I cant find a "brand name" on is the hard drive (which is a little frustrating). But otherwise, I think this is the final go, still nervous about buying online but we shall see what happens.
Wish me luck all!

Found the tab and have been surfing through some of the rigs. It appears all the rigs come from the sites I have been looking at (CyberPower, HP, and IBUYPOWER) although their prices appear even less on the newegg site. Of course without the ability to return the computers I have more reason to pause.
However, it looks like I can get more comp for less price. Here is one that I was looking at that seems to encompass everything I was hoping for. Only issue is it doesnt go into manufacturers for components and doesnt list the specific motherboard. Maybe I should just be adventurous and build my own, even though I have no clue. . .

Again thanks.
I didnt think Newegg had assembled rigs though. Thought everything there you had to put together yourself and I am not sure I am competent (or patient) enough to do that. I have toyed with components on there but maybe I have to do some more digging! -
Thanks guys I appreciate the help!
Now, though I am a little concerned with where I am going to purchase the rig from. I have been looking at CyberPower and a couple others. Where do you recommend purchasing a pre-made rig from (I do not have the skills or patience to assemble my machine)?
Cyberpower looks like it is around $200 cheaper than most other sights but their forums are littered with unhappy customers (true it seems to be people who buy higher end comps). Also looking at iBuyPower and seeing many of the same comments from people. Are any of these sights trustworthy? -
Thanks Father. That is exactly the info I am looking for. The benchmark comment really helped with the investigation also!
Still working on this build (and hoping I have the extra cash this holiday season) but getting ever so closer! -
Hey guys,
Still working on a couple new rig ideas and with Castle shedding light on GR vid cards I think I am finally closing in on a decent build. However, I am (sadly, I know) the least knowledgeable about mother boards. What do I need to be looking at when I start investigating motherboards?
This is my latest configuration, although I have swapped out the Zonet Card and upgraded the power supply to a "named" brand.

Evening all!
First I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday (in the states that is)! And I hope everyone has somethings to be very thankful in this difficult year.
Now that that's out of the way was wondering if the tech folks out there would be willing to take a look at this build and let me know what you think. Not very experienced in building these things and had some great help the last time; so hoping I can find it again!
Thanks!

Quote:This thread is about the loyalty badge, not someones ability to quit smoking.
And you haven't walked a day in my shoes to know how rough it is where I'm at. So don't assume you know everything when in fact, you know nothing.
He made the mention of cutting off my cigs when in the end that would cause me stress, and possible panic attacks later on down the line. Perhaps causing me my home, any future job I might get (in the middle of quitting) or friends because I flipped out on them.
I can't afford the medication for what I have and this is the closest thing I got. Back to the "loyalty" badge now plz kthxbai.
Just have to say. . . WHAT?!?!?!?
Wow, no wonder our country is in the state it is. Dude, it's a badge. Read the rules. Understand active means. . . Well active. Understand lapsed means. . . lapsed. . . Realize you are wrong and move on.
Saying something that is entirely controlled by you is not your fault is insane. Of course, I guess that is America nowadays. Everything is someone else's fault even when it isn't. I have run a couple companies in my lifetime and currently am a department head at my current employ; let me say this is one of the first attitudes I look for when hiring someone. . . So I know to never, ever hire that person. -
Okay just took Babbage down in Skyway on Freedom and Babbage was "teeny." He was barely bigger than the heroes fighting him; is this a bug or the new, improved, economically challenged Babbage?
Have the clockwork felt the recession pinch? Has the stimulus plan not provided enough work for the Gear Union? -
Quote:None of it is really necessary but some of it is quite fun. I have 3 builds that I spend a lot of time with: my purpled out Spines/Dark Scrapper, Purpled out Ill/Rad troller, and my IO'd out softcapped dark/shield scrapper. So I have to admit here that I have not played with purple sets much. I have made a couple of fully slotted heroes that have had a purple set, or the random proc thrown in but could someone help me out and WHY I would use purple sets in my build? I am going to makes some guesses here...
1) I want to have a team toon build and wont have to depend on def because I will either get it from my team mates, have team mates to heal me or I just plain will never solo.
2) I want to do something really well i.e. regen or recovery or damage but dont really care if that AV face plants me in 2.2 seconds because of... see above.
3) I really have lots and lots of money to spend and I will be slotting full PvP sets as well that I will have spent billions on just one full set.
In all seriousness, are there any types of toons who, using purples extensively, are survivable and good for soloing AVs and being the last hero standing when the **** hits the fan and the team is getting wiped?
If you could share some of your builds and describe what the builds are designed for that might help.
So... Really worth all that?
The Spines/Dark is about 12 seconds short of perma hasten, DR is up around every 30 seconds, and he farms like a madman.
The Ill/Rad has perma hasten, perma PA, perma AM, and is generally a beast full of fun on teams and TF's.
The Dark/Shield has no purples but several LoTG +recharges, Numina Unique, and is soft capped on defense. She is my AV solo'er and lately my only played toon because I just have to much fun with her!
Definitely none of these things are "required" but they do make these 3 characters stand out in my roster! -
OK last one for me tonight before bed. Updated my build above and here is the second one I have been working on. One better than the other? Both come in right around my price mark just not sure which one is a better build or should I say functional?
