I appreciate the debate but from what I can see the primary arguments are based pretty much on I don't like it, which is your right. However, I think the vast majority of people would appreciate this addition based on the responses to this thread.
Mostly the things I don't like I don't use, I'm not a fan of AE I thought it was great to start but what it has become is less than enjoyable for me, I simply don't use it. If you don't enjoy the giftshop then you don't have to use it, I'm alright with that. I don't think it's fair to argue against something that many people might enjoy because you might not. Everyone is here to be happy and somehow i don't think you'll be so utterly annoyed by the addition of a cheery little giftshop in the hospitals that you'll be unable to enjoy yourself. After all you might just like green eggs and ham, if you try it. -
Quote:Cat girls are legion! On guardian (i think, i'm from a non-standard chapter on triumph) the Legion of Catgirls exists and they are everything you'd expect from a catgirl... Legion is led by a kitty named sleepy and several others.I refuse to add a category until I add a sketch that doesn't contain people which look like dried up Mr. Bill's... (The boy in the bubble pic in particular brought him to mind...)
Once again I must insist that Catgirls are the Bigfoots (bigfeet?) of CoH... I hear all this talk but I don't think I have encountered one yet. I can't even figure out if encountering one would be a good thing or bad.
By the way, I am starting a Save the Turtles petition... I plan on nailing it to Pyro's forehead once I have a hundred signatures!!! (heh, nice one Pyro!)
As for being good and bad depends which ones you encounter, there are some in my SG on triumph (feline fellowship) who channel the evil manipulative side of cats and others that are positively indepressable. Any server you go to and shout "i've got cat nip cookies" in AP will likely draw 1-2 of the strays in.

I've tried this twice now, to bring about change to DA once a long time ago and once more recently.
There is a small highly dedicated group that believe they are the only people who ever visit DA. I'm one of those people, well one of the few that enjoy DA and i would like to share it with everyone...though to ask any of the others they would deny I've ever been there. Anyway none of them want to see any changes they want their "secret zone" to remain theirs and thus they are vehemently against any move to change it.
If you were interested in my vision for DA you can check out my WIP AE mission "A story in Astoria" under @Roxanna though some changes were made to AE since I made that so the missions are a little less action packed than I would like. I haven't written the last mission yet and the second to last mission is much more tedious than I would like. Please don't write any reviews here.
anyway, I'd much prefer to see the BP take the lime light rather than this grand coalition of factions but either way best of luck to you ,OP. -
Your points are valid for most of the veteran players such as yourself and I, but I do notice a large crowd of players that level up primarily through the use of AE or radios, only hitting "real" contacts sporadically in between.
I'm not sure I am making an argument for further supporting that type of gameplay but I don't think they should come to more difficulty because of it and it's not like a veteran wouldn't enjoy that sort of easy access, quality of life type thing. -
So i was thinking of scrubs...yeah that tv show on nbc, now abc, and noticed their hospital had something ours didn't...well ok their hospital has a lot that ours doesn't but anyway we are short one gift shop in each hospital.
What is a scrapper to do when visiting her blaster friends in the ICU?
A giftshop would be a nice place to pick up a cup of coffee (catch a breath?) or perhaps some OTC painkillers (sturdy?) or maybe a lucky charm or eight.
I asked a couple others what they would be interested in having in a hospital giftshop and some mentioned various healing themed temp powers (probably one shot powers with a time limit. We wouldn't want our loyal defenders or corrupters as the case may be going to early retirement)
Anyway being able to pick up some insps without taking a zone wide detour to visit a contact would be a nice addition especially to those hospitals that get a lot of traffic.
your thoughts? -
If you win pyro i'm gonna be upset cause I had three on there but changed my mind...i should know better >_>

*checks rules*...haven't made a guess this round, guess isn't taken, two prizes yet available...I think I am good...out of curiosity if foo wins and picks arts by the foo...what is foo gonna get from foo? -
I can't say for certain but if you can slot it multiple times, in different powers, it should stack when it fires on multiple targets. If you can only slot it once build wide then my thinking would be that it wouldn't allow itself to stack and would only fire once per activation but the odds of activation would revolve around the number of targets affected. ie if you hit two targets you would have a 10% chance for it to fire on both targets but if it fired on both would only give you the default value, therefore hitting 10 targets would give you pretty good chance of getting the bonus. But then i've only been in an SG with Arcanna and am not the mighty mathematician personally :P
-
careful use of SoW should negate the need for resurgence the defence you get from CJ isn't going to push you over that particular edge of survivability. I suppose you might save a few slots going CJ/Res over CJ/SoW but you trade those slots making a few other powers more effective vs lasting longer to use the powers another time.
My opinion would be to go CJ/SoW. -
I had that conversation about a shield drone sitting in steel once...i hit it...and then i hit it again...and again and again then I had a team mate cast fort on me and tried again...then a Tsoo ate us, that was all before I had ever been to bricks or FF or probably TI for that matter. skyway was the biggest map (to my knowledge) out there, I refused to call missions "mish's," and i was still sharing an account with my friend...and none of you is old...old people don't "do" comics...
<please forgive my sins against the english language.> -
pretty impressive a full on gauntlet would be pretty sweet. I think he can do better with the controls, but that's just because i'm an eletrical engineer :P
-
Slotted with IO's you're only looking at 10% resistance to S/L so it's not an exceptional power alone. It's best stacked with other resistance powers and used to carry some procs to add special survivability.
-
So theoretically say you can beat the 1k regen barrier, what does that mean? How much survivability does that actually provide you? I haven't got mids on this computer so i can't tweak a build or do any damage/regen calcs.
in any event /watched -
*debates checking at work, thinks about the lab i'm working in*
...prolly gonna have to save it
*eye's lab people over shoulder*
definately gonna have to save it :/ -
I believe it, either that or it's an exceptionally elaborate hoax. for instance for whatever reason in some of the images he elaborates the image with different things that don't match the reality, in the windmill painting he's added a satelite dish, but not in the true form like you would see for a TV satelite, the one he drew is more like you would find in a cartoon for an adult "hoaxing" the images i don't think they would have taken that leap of imagination. I hope they don't corrupt him, or box him into it. kids still need to be able to walk their own way, whatever their talents are.

Quote:go for itDo you mind if post some shots of my own from diffrent angles to compare?
this makes me think we're talkin about different things. -
go take a look for yourself the lower most segment is indeed at an angle to the remaining segments. I chose the angles i did because that is how i noticed the kink. I am aware of spacial relations as well and i did believe that my eye's did decieve me until i took a closer look. also 1440x900 may not be the best monitor available (although 4 years ago when i bought it, it was much higher up the resolution totem pole) but certainly not scoff worthy as you make it sound.
Again it's not like this is a mysterious place only a veteran player can travel to, go look for yourself.
@ dark ether, yeah i kinda figured what can i say i like miss direction and a little innuendo, perhaps you can come up with something more kinky? -
that supposed to be a corsair in the background? or did you model it after something else?
oh and nice pic... -

I vaguely remember a lot of this info from when bows were released. Hearing it applies to Bo's and polearms is unfortunate. I've been playing a spear weilding typhoon on dragon sky and it's been a lot of fun to see the staves and spears whirling around...they probably don't run into the same issues because their character customization is pretty much just paint on graphics, and armors.
I'd wonder if they would lock BAB's team in a closet again and make them "work it out" but there are other things BAB's and Co. could work on (LIKE THE HEAVY ELECTRIC AURA) -
Is there a similar thread for IE? i can't seemed to stay logged in while i'm typing posts. I think the login timeout is only like 5 minutes. which with my scatterbrain is well short of time required to write a post...I used to be able to stay logged in indefinately. I've not had to use my password for such long stints that i would forget it...now i have to reenter every 15minutes at least.

Quote:first off don't tempt fate...she'll never fall for your bluff. also please note you're on the scrapper forum and they don't frequently take kindly to "scrapper... ok, meh imo but ok" they have some mighty big ego's...ok, i have brought this up like once a year since CoV was in beta and they took out ice armor. (i said that rad/rad should be it's replacement), Of course no one ever comments on it, and i pray that i don't kill this thread with my bad luck.
first off. i think it should start off being a tanker set. scrapper... ok, meh imo but ok. and i will focus on the armor because the attacks are a given.
it would be a regen/sr/wp hybrid
how it works. picture the defenders powers place onto the caster. so most your debuffs are now pbaoe's. so 1.RI, 2.EF and 3.LR would be toggles of gas around you. before anyone says anything about the holes in this, the benefit might out weigh the loss of a true armor. def's RI gives -30% to-hit which is like have 30% def. and a dmg debuff would be like a resistance armor.
and the buffs in the sets are placed on you. AM would be an auto (maybe split them up to fill out the powers, like 4.quickness and 5.recovery. 6.mutation a self-rez. the 7.heal... a click heal. add a 8.mez armor.
and that leaves u with a 9 tier. i was thinking of something like something like warshade's eclipse. and if that isn't good enough for some reason or thematically correct, add a hold to the move. (for theme, it's like you are getting stronger as everyone else is getting weaker) make the buff last longer and the recharge no effected by recharge ala willpower~shield 9 tier.
any takers this time?
Second i see where you're coming from with tankers...they didn't take away ice armor from tankers though, that came from brutes. The reason brutes always get res instead of def/slow is because it affects the fury bar. So if you give a brute -tohit debuffs they can't build fury anymore. That leaves regen and res buffs and weaken debuffs.
I do agree that having the rad buffs as toggles and autos is generally what the set should consist of not relying so much on armors as debuffing your enemies so much that they can't hit or can't hit hard enough. tohit debuff's are very strong in pve WP RTTC's -tohit is stong enough that i usually don't need to use my melee resist power because anything close enough to use melee is unable to hit me anyway.
The problem with cloud armors is that if you aren't in the cloud you're fine so ranged attacks are going to hurt. You could use mutation as a tier 9. Mutation offers increased damage, chance to hit, Endurance recovery, and attack speed and is protected from XP Debt for 90 seconds. bump those buffs up to teir 9 strength and mutation would have a whole new meaning.
you could reverse the cloud auras too, instead of making them a PBAOE make them single target attacks. Each time you hit something it takes on a cloud of radiation (smaller melee range cloud debuff) while the melee debuff might only stack once or twice the cloud debuff could stack more heavily so as you spread your damage out you get a larger debuff. This could work out well for tanks. radiation auras aggro so as you hit more and more targets you'd draw in more and more aggro. Combined with some shivan style damaging attacks rad/rad scrappers could be the new fire/fire.
Radiation can certainly be a lot of things to tanks and scrappers and perhaps brutes. Which is all the more reason it deserves some more consideration. -
So i have a bit of an odd request. I may have opportunity to work on an ultra high def screen (if i can get the grants...it's all theoretical at this point) I know that some of you work at a very high resolution, and would be interested in knowing if anyone worked on the resolution the screen is expected to produce...4320p? to break it down into current generation terms 1080p x4(linearlly x16 so if you had a 42" HDTV you'd need a screen of 168" at the same resolution to accomplish 4320p.
approximately 33.2million pixels.
I'm trying to get a better grasp on just how big that is and unsurprisingly haveing trouble. I wonder if anyone knows about some art that exists at that resolution. IMAX is actually a little larger than 4320p pixel for pixel but it's not traditional widescreen it's 10:7. There are some images that can be found via google they are frequently satelite photos that are, well they could be more interesting, or image assemblies (panoramas or blocks of small images pieced together).
The more i write the more insane this sounds, Thanks for any links/images/OMGareyouinsanes -
So here's a halfbaked idea I had last night. I was playing my plant/rad last night and kinda got thinking that it would be nice to irradiate something with my fist...or foot or whatever implement I might have available. Just a gentle reminder to back up and get that growth checked out after they check you in at the zig.
other options: with the advent of i16 it would be possible to color DM/DA or FM/FA green and call it radiation, problem is that it would end up being a bit fiery or tentacally than the bubbly styled graphics of radiation proper. If we ever get pink pompoms of death those could be colored green and accomplish a similar task. Again this lacks the lingering FX or bubbliness of radiation.
I wont even begin to try and post a concept powerset because that's never really worked out for me.
A few conceptual ideas... You're a walking chernobyl in your wake you leave a trail of mutant super flies and three eyed fish, you glow with enough radiation to light a city block, anything you touch is burned bruised and sickened. If I were to pick a "as seen on TV" representation it would be "Blight" from Batman Beyond. The set/sets function more along the lines of a scrapptroller offering limitless functionality that provides protection but less than stellar damage or similar to DA or FA. Of course we're scrappers so all that really means is that out of other scrappers you deal less damage but anyone else would be green with envy, or maybe they've just become irradiated.
Not familar with terry's nemisis? here's a google of Blight.

(grrr where did all the color and linking options go!)
Flame on! or more thematically Radiate...on? yeah lacks the punch...
