Amazing art by a six year old
Stuff like that is interesting. I Stumbled on a site for this girl who I think is like 12 or 13 now (maybe older), but she had been a painting prodigy since very young.
Except I was completely turned off while reading through the site, because the descriptions of her and her work made her out to be some sort goddess amongst us mere lowly mortals who were utterly blessed to even get a glimpse of her talent. She's probably nice in person, but definitely needed someone different doing her PR.
Neat, sometimes natural talent is pretty amazing.
Color me skeptical. I need a lot more than a newspaper article to believe it. Like, video of him painting one, start to finish. (It can be time-lapse.) Or testimony of a witness that I can trust. Or seeing it with my own eyes.
IF he's really painting those, then yeah, WOW!
In a sense, something like this has no surprise value for me, but merely enforces the belief that anyone can create "Art". In Children, they have the capacity to see the simplicity and structure of objects in relation to geometric shapes and how to build up from the basics; and when taught at that same early age in an environment that grips them, you get kids like Kieron. Honestly, wouldn't it be great if more kids were given the same opportunity? I'm almost saddened by the fact that one or two kids squirm into public view because they clung to an unexpected ability, got the tutelage and let it fly and it's a "rare thing"--that should be something we see more often.
I'm sorry, I'm totally Soap Boxing.

Wow... an' here I am at twenty-... something... (>.> <.<) barely able to draw stickmen right. I feel so inadequate.
Character references! Artz! Whatnot!

Adults usually draw the exact way they did the last time they picked up a pencil, which explains why many of them can only draw stick figures... those kids went outside more!
But I do believe art can be taught. Talent however is a gift that needs to be nurtured, otherwise it will focus into something hideous like Abstract Meat Sculptures encased in Plexiglas...
Why do you judge me?
I believe it, either that or it's an exceptionally elaborate hoax. for instance for whatever reason in some of the images he elaborates the image with different things that don't match the reality, in the windmill painting he's added a satelite dish, but not in the true form like you would see for a TV satelite, the one he drew is more like you would find in a cartoon for an adult "hoaxing" the images i don't think they would have taken that leap of imagination. I hope they don't corrupt him, or box him into it. kids still need to be able to walk their own way, whatever their talents are.

Color me amazed. That is a beautiful watercolor by any age standard.
Recently i have been described as "the most frustrated artist i've ever seen". There is art in my future and if i can aspire to be just this good i would of accomplished something.
Thanks for sharing Foo!

I thought this was astounding and might be appreciated here. I am now jealous of a six-year-old's talent.
Pictured: Incredible watercolour paintings by boy aged just SIX
A street scene from the paintbrush of a child usually involves triangle-topped boxes for houses. And often an unnaturally large dog.
But Kieron Williamson's attempts are so beautifully rendered that artists ten times his age will be filled with envy.
Experts have said that the six-year-old's atmospheric paintings, which began with harbour scenes and expanded to include rural vistas, animal portraits and landmarks, have perspective, shadow and reflections that demonstrate an ability well beyond his years.
