    Energy Aura?

The duration isnt that long but it is long enough that if you placate immediately something that is under the effect it will still attempt to attack you.(if it misses though you can still assasin strike the target)

You wanted to know how and when it would be useful.

Think of it this way...its mag isnt that great which is true...but kinetic melee has a number of attacks that cause stun as well....this power will stack with that.

In addition the effects may not always work or for that long....but when they do they will interupt the enemies around you when it does work....which isnt the best defense but it isnt that bad either...if you have lots of enemies around you.

The best usage of this power is believe it or not is not while solo but on teams

First good spot to use it is while you stand next to a brute or tank using area of effects and taunting groups to surround them...as in it will sometimes work on things thats try to escape the Brute or the Tank...which is helpful.

Also in the middle of groups that controllers or defenders or kheldians who use stun effects alot are trying to effect...as you will then be combining a stun with their stun.

And the last best place i found is actualy while using hover, hovering directly over a big boss like say in the Bahavior Adjustment Facility Incarnate Trial.....because we all know it wont do much to the bosses...but it will hit the minions they summon.

Only problems with disrupt is its a very small area of effect...and consumes energy whether it works or not...any attempt of it trying to hit a target consumes energy...so it can be annoying.

Now for tips part becasue i still play this set every so often.
For the Kinetic Melee part....I actualy enhanced all my attacks with a chance to knock down invention enhancement.....the reason was that the powers actualy do a fairly good job of knocking things down on their own....but with the enhancement...the chance is alot better...as the game checks for both the power doing it and for the enhancement itself.

On the Energy Aura part the defenses they give you are not too bad either...you can up them fairly well....and one power even offers psionic defense...you will find your only real hole will be toxic...may advice is read the powers onthe sloting screen and see what they will offer and slot accordingly.

If you attack fast with kinetic melee you will find actualy the energy usage for the attacks is fairly heavy....and can run out of energy quickly....thus you best choice while playing and building your chaarcter in my opinion is not to enhance the attacks for attack speed....rather enhance them for hitting and damage.

Incarnate-wise i went a route of getting nerve...becasue it offered an accuracy bonus, increased defenses and enahnced hold whihc seams to include stuns...=^_^=....ok so the stuns isnt enhacned that much...but it is noticable.

One thing i personaly found with kinetic melee....it seams to miss alot more then most of the other stalker attacks from other sets(well there is one attack in electric melee that misses alot too and the stats for it in game says it has a higher chance to hit).....i dont know why i get so many frequent misses....the values according to the game are supposedly the same(I compared them across the board).....when i run hero stats however it confirms i miss more using kinetic melee....thus Nerve helps with that...as i hate trying to destroy boxes with an assassin strike while hidden and miss....especialy on a team.

I am not saying you should get Nerve...no you should get whatever Incarnate Alpha Item you want....eventualy you will want more then one type .

Anywise I hope this helps...This combination is alot of fun....=^_^=

oh my god you have sold me on this set, everyones comments was really helpful but this put the cherry on top, im not too bothered by frequent misses i can work on that, this should be a guide in itself, thank you very much kitty.

so it wont affect hidden status is that wat ur sayin?

    Energy Aura?

    hey guys,

im lookin next to roll a stalker, i hear nothing but good news about kinetic melee, plus thematically for me i can use it as a telekinetic set, then i came across energy aura and this i can definitly use it as telekinetic energy aura aswell as i wanted to create this TK using ninja style character.

but my problem is i seen Disrupt, if im not mistaken the whole idea of a stalker is to be hidden, so whats the use of this power?

its not even a mag 3 so not only will it stun maybe a couple minions but its gunna bring aggro to you when you wanna be in hide, am i missing something here?

if this is the case then im gunna have to look at another idea altogether.

has anyone got experience with this set and can they give me advice over it?

    appreciate it very much.

    Tights!

since we are on the ideas of tights, an idea i just had is that a design of bioluminescence like the one in the costume selection, but with fire or ice patterns, could even cover the gloves and chest area too, since the first bioluminescence costume was pretty good imo.

However, GG was talking about ENHANCEMENTS, the things you socket into your power slots on the management screen. A lot of them are items or physical upgrades/mutations. This allows players to keep unique costumes but still upgrade their "gear".

wow thanks for the links appreciate the swift reply Aggelakis.

    thanks.
  8. wow guys thanks for the advice really appreciate it, i will check out your guide and see what i can come up with, i can squeeze alot of defense out for my character, i will post my build up shortly many thanks guys.

With your idea, all that goes out the window, replaced by everyone wearing the same costume because they want the bonus. (And, worse, players immediately deciding that other players are second-class citizens because they're not wearing the Oh-So-Special "Look At Me I'm Shiny" Gear)

To paraphrase The Incredibles: If everyone is "special", then nobody is.

(And that's assuming that they would recode the game to allow for it - right now, there's no way to do what you suggest)

On the cosmetic level, there's already special Incarnate-only pieces that you can earn, as well as pieces you can earn for being a long-time vet, so you can already "show off your power" that way.

In any event, this topic is specifically for Golden and Silver-Age style outfits, not for random new costume ideas that would make every high-level character dress exactly the same.

i understand that this specific thread was purely for tights only but i felt that if i had wrote this in my own thread somewhere i'll eventually get a bit of grief as i have in the past in my experience on these message boards.
i felt i needed to express an idea that while you can create this already, but maybe as a whole set not seperate parts.

i did expect a bit of hate and you didnt dissapoint.
seems like alot of people get tossed aside these days for speaking their mind.

not EVERYONE will think the same way as you do and i can see how it would make a good gap in the market work as people might want this to happen.

Im going to go out on a limb here and say that while some not all of the community will appreciate the golden age type tights or costume ideas, but maybe we should look more in depth at tights and costumes on a futuristic level, after all most if not all vip members are playing incarnate level content and since the solo incarnate path is on beta and soon (tm) to be released, i have to say that maybe looking into the gods type of clothing i.e zeus' apparalls, and maybe just maybe, something galactus wears like his skirt sort of clothing and his helmet, after all ,us vip players need to be standing out, looking to help our fellow free players and having these costumes, with in built auras! could be what we need to stand out in the crowd, because we all play this game swapping toons every so often and cranking up the character slots full of 50's, it be nice to just have that one or two characters that are godly that have surpassed all that has come to light.

Infact, it would be an amazing idea simply because we can show off our level of power amongst the community, some costumes can even contain a small fraction of power, i.e again zeus' apparalls can contain a small minor base damage electricity/lightning aura of say 5-10 damage every 3 seconds, but of course this type of thing would have to be rare if not the rarest, and those that have this would show it off in godly fashion.

This has been an idea of mine since ive gotten myself into comic book style games and COH has to be the most in depth ive seen ever!

i opoligise to the OP for the long writing, i just wanted my idea to have some context to it so everyone can understand where im coming from.
i dont expect much from this, just a quick read over.

    many thanks for this opportunity.

  12. Hey guys, i have a psi/psi blaster fully io'd on one build so far just gathering dust, and because he was one of my first real toons i fell in love with because of psi is such an amazing power, i was wondering what exactly are the common power choices and what should i avoid.

i guess what im asking is on one build i have him at 45% soft cap, but i want to get as much out of him in terms of dps, defense, resistance, and performance.

i looked over the set in detail and for a more comprehensive build im looking at [Will Domination] and [Scramble Thoughts] into my build as part of a conceptt im going for.

now ive heard from alot of people that apparantly psi is not a top damage contender that infact it falls short in performance.
but i also heard that any primary teamed with Mental Manipulation will be good at survival, mainly because of [Drain Psyche].

also as an idea, would DS then nuke, then burnout, then nuke again save me from the end crash?

anyways please give some advice on this id love to hear what the blaster community has to say about this set and hopefully i can get some ideas and help on my second build.

    many thanks guys.

The problem is that this person isn't enhancing. Life's tough enough for any character in their 20's, being slot-poor and most enhancers don't do a heck of a lot yet.

Not slotting at all is just...asinine.

The correct advice here is "take the time and enhance". It makes a BIG difference in survivability.

i can definitly agree on that.

And that ladies and gentlemen is how we help newcomers or old players in our commnuity, instead of giving advice we have a jackass to give a pointless and meaningless comment that has no real foundation what so ever, nice to see COH evolving into this piece of **** garbage of what it is today, arrogant, selfish, sarcastic and childish player base.

How about you give some advice before you make such a mundane comment.

For example: If you pick Robotics then you can choose which body-type and scale then you'll be given a list of all the tech options available to build your minions, perhaps with a few special bits that don't work on player rigs like Victoria heads/faces and the like, but otherwise just have the tech options, robotic arms/legs, clockwork faces, etc. If you pick Thugs you'll have the option of street clothes and such, hopefully with an option for skirts and various bits for the females, but mostly including pants, tank tops, t-shirts, tattoos, chain/barbed wire pieces and all the others that can evoke thug imagery. You could make a classy looking gang of well-dressed gangsters, a pin-striped group of Family bruisers, or a down and dirty street mob. And so on with Mercenaries getting pieces to build military/stealth/spec-ops costumes (Possibly with costume options to make a Longbow or Arachnos squad?), Ninjas getting various ninja/samurai parts, maybe not the most accurate but this is City of Heroes, give us the ninja pack plus various eastern-styled pieces plus a few mask options for the Oni and we're good. Heck, they could even throw in just an option to select certain zombies from the Zombie Apocalypse for zombie masterminds.

Anyway, dreamtime over. I know options like that would be VERY complex and take a VERY long time to implement, but for all we know, they could be working on that as we speak and just keeping it secret since it will take so long. I'd imagine with restricted costume options based on the set you chose it would prevent people from making a squadron of samurai bikini hookers or whatever. As far as just having selectable minions, that I can definitely cook up some ideas for.

Zombies: First/Second tier could have options to select from the Banished Pantheon zombies and Apocalypse zombies tier one and two (Husks/Chambers and the basic Apocalypse zombies plus the larger fleshy-looking ones with no clothing/hair). The Lich could have an option for Nightmare from Apocalypse or possibly a Death Shaman from the Banished Pantheon. It would give people an option to basically be a BP mastermind without having to adjust powers or anything. Also it would give people who don't want to look like a medieval sorceror an option to look more like a mad scientist who unleashed a zombie plague with the Apocalypse zombies.

Thugs: Give us Family, Warriors, Skulls and Hellions to choose from (include a few new, pre-built female models), plus any other applicable low-level street-thug groups. Not only does it give you an option for a particular sell (Rogue or redeemed) of criminals, but it also could present the option to mix and match so you could have some sort of Suicide Squad of various redeemed criminals.

Mercenaries: Malta and Knives of Artemis options, mix and match obviously. One and done really, unless the devs feel generous and are willing to give us options from Vanguard, Longbow and Arachnos as well. And if we're REALLY lucky maybe the RIP and PPD (Primal and Praetorian versions). Any pre-existing, organized agency really. Malta and Knives are most fitting, but Vanguard and Longbow would be pretty good too. Arachnos would be absolutely AMAZING, but we'd have to have the option of female banes/huntsmen too.

Robotics: Obviously Clockwork (both Primal and Praetorian), Victorias, Warworks, Nemesis, perhaps some Rikti drones thrown in for good measure? Mostly the Vickys that would be nice to have so we could make a fembot assassination squad without them being sex objects.

Ninjas: Tsoo really, maybe Syndicate if we want something more Yakuza based? Not too much to run off of in game already. Those two groups would provide plenty of options, but some nice pre-built m/f/h models using the Ninja pack would be nice options to have as well.

Demons: They really would only work as is, unless the devs want to give us some COT options like hordelings, succubi, behemoths, blade princes and hellfrosts. I would be especially okay with a bunch of Hordelings, Succubi and a Blade Prince for this, but that's entirely up to them. I think they're kind of iconic as the bestial/non-gendered set that they are.

    i like this.
  16. hey, thanks for the reply, i did read the OP but it just didnt explain as much and i didnt wana go thru a few pages lol.

my second question was ment in terms of have you completely gotten everything out of the build, such as dps defense, resistence and pretty much everything else.

im just trying to find a top tier warshade to play with as they are really good if slotted properly.

ill read his guide now thanks for the advice.
  17. couple questions to TwoHeadedBoy with regards to your build, is this a pure optimal build where i am at par with other ATs in terms of performance?
have you squeezed alot of this build and do you think the defense is good for you?
and is this the build you have previously mentioned while showing pics of fighting +4s?
reason im asking as i have made numerous builds for my warshade and i want to be sure before i go ahead and spend 30 billion on 1 build, i love my warshade and i would like to squeeze as much out of him as possible while maintaining good defense, overall good survivability and competitive damage output.
human only form i prefer tbh.

if this is not the type of build im looking for can someone please give me tips or pointers hell even a guide would be sweat at this point.

    many thanks.

    Sypher V.
  18. Hey guys,

i have only read a few posts based on this so if i reiterate something someone says i apoligise but i have an idea on the set, brutes have fury, brutes should not be nerfed, instead, if tankers get a buff, it should be applicable to their design, now most power sets are getting redone or brought with certain mechanics to make them work, even AT's have their own mechanic, so maybe the tankers mechanic could be enhanced or changed to be called Tanker's Might.
for every foe in melee range their damage raises up to 10 foes but it shouldnt be enough to break the damage cap.
The idea should be good enough to get enough damage out of it more than before.
let me know what you guys think.
  19. heres a build i just made, its not got softcap to fire and cold but i didnt make that a priority because that damage type is not as common as smashing lethal and energy, assuming you will go incarnate.

let me know what you think.

Going off the male ninja outfit, I came up with this:

    I used the following:
    Head: Ninja
    Hair: Topknot
    Top: Baggy 2
    Gloves: Warrior
    Belt: Circle of Thorns
    Pants: Baggy Tucked in
    Boots: Wrapped

I also decided to try a "sexy" version:

    I used the following:
    Head: Ninja
    Hair: Topknot
    Top: Patent Leather
    Gloves: Warrior
    Belt: Circle of Thorns
    Pants: Patent Leather
    Boots: Flat Wrapped

I came up with this for Thugs:

    http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/690...8dec070742.jpg
    I used the following:
Head: Face 20 (I'm partial to that face on my females)
Hair: Shimmer (with teal and purple for a "punky" style)
    Jacket: Biker
    Sleeves: Retro
    Shoulders: Small Tri-Spike
    Top: Strapless
    Gloves: Fingerless
    Belt: Large Leather Eyelets
    Pants: Basic Pants- Motorcycle Leathers
    Boots: Combat

Oh, and for the sliders, I used these settings:

I was able to make them using current pieces I had available to me, and they weren't overly skimpy on the outfits. I based the ninja outfits off of the CoH ones, as well as the anime style, where the ponytail shows through the mask. For the thug look, I essentially went with the typical biker/punk female.

Any thoughts, comments? I will try coming up with some ideas for Mercs as well, and if you guys want, I can take a shot at female zombies

Athough this idea is a pretty good one, i cant see it being top priority to the devs anytime soon.
and while your enthusiasum (if thats how you spell it?) is commendable and your ideas good stuff, it begs me to wonder what has this come to, seeing as ideas such as this one is left to the community to come up with when a big games company should of thought about this themselves, and it annoys me how slow they are running with this when champions online got thousands of ideas out already.

i really love your ideas and designs Firemoth and hope the devs take notice of this and start moving their hinnies on a faster pace.
  22. I personally think its not really a neccissity to the game at this time as there are more important issues with the game right now, but if it gets included then i'll be happy for it, but like i said, dont expect it anytime soon.

Another option would be Ice Armor, depending if that fits thematically for you, super easy to softcap Def on that one, and seems like a fun set. I am currently working on a Elec/Ice Stalker, and should be quite fun. he is only lvl 12, thanks to my alt itis issues, but already i can tell he is gonna rock the house. One of the best combos i have seen in PVP and probably works ok in PVE, is Energy/Ninjitsu...you cant go wrong with anything /Nin.....its a nice set! Energy works nice since it disorients quite a bit, well, good luck!!

thanks! sounds amazing, definitly energy/nin now!

    O.o
  25. Hey guys,

took a few days break from COH and im looking into maybe rolling a stalker, especially with the news that changes are going to be made to them.
i was wondering what powers would be nice to roll with, im not a fan of regen on a stalker, thematically to me it just doesnt make sense, i want my character to be a dark assassin type god, always in the shadows, i like energy melee because of its 2 extreme powers and the AS move.
dark armor sounds like a good choice too.
ill preferebly need advice ona primary and secondary.

also as a side, if anyone got some cool ideas for names for him aswell id be greatly appreciated but not important

    thanks again guys.
