Psi/Psi Advice needed
I did post a Psi/MM Blaster guide in the guides list less than a year ago, and the concepts I discussed still hold true today. But if that's TL;DR for you, I can sum it up.
Your DPS, no matter what chain you have, is going to suffer against robots or anything Psi-resistant. DPS is also a little slower than almost every other blast set due to the slow travel time between yourself and your target.
As far as blasts go, Will Domination can come in handy but Scramble Thoughts is pretty much useless. If you do go with a ranged defense-capped build, your nuke can come in handy as you're allowed time to escape out of point blank range and even with your toggles dropping, you'll have enough set-bonus defense to keep you alive while you pop a blue, jump in and Drain Psyche, then jump back out and re-toggle and resume mopping up the rest.
Also, I don't think you'll have enough end after your nuke to fire it a second time in such a short span. You'd need to pop several blues at the minimum.
Anyways. I do still recommend you check out my guide if you have any IO slotting questions or you're wondering about exact damage of powers. Hope this helped!

Will Domination is a single-target sleep. It's also useful for putting foes out of commission, but when you attack them they wake up again and can attack you. Sleeps often don't work against machines like robots, but stuns generally do. Scramble Thoughts is probably more useful than Will Domination for this reason, though WD does decent damage against targets that aren't resistant to Psi.
I notice a lot of denigration of stuns and especially sleeps. These powers will save your skin by taking one or more opponents out of the fight. Even if it's for just a few seconds, that can be enough time for you to finish off one or two other foes first.
In this game there is passive and there is active mitigation. Armors and defense bonuses are passive mitigation. Damage powers, powers with to-hit debuffs, KB powers and mezzes are active mitigation. For ATs that don't have access to lots of passive mitigation, you need that active mitigation to increase survivability.
The other reason it's useful for blasters and melee characters to take mezzes is the stacking rules. If you use your Scramble Thoughts on a boss at the same time a controller hits the boss's spawn with an AoE stun like Flashfire, the boss will be stunned immediately. Being able to lock down an entire spawn before they have a chance to do anything is always a plus.
wow guys thanks for the advice really appreciate it, i will check out your guide and see what i can come up with, i can squeeze alot of defense out for my character, i will post my build up shortly many thanks guys.
Hey guys, i have a psi/psi blaster fully io'd on one build so far just gathering dust, and because he was one of my first real toons i fell in love with because of psi is such an amazing power, i was wondering what exactly are the common power choices and what should i avoid.
i guess what im asking is on one build i have him at 45% soft cap, but i want to get as much out of him in terms of dps, defense, resistance, and performance.
i looked over the set in detail and for a more comprehensive build im looking at [Will Domination] and [Scramble Thoughts] into my build as part of a conceptt im going for.
now ive heard from alot of people that apparantly psi is not a top damage contender that infact it falls short in performance.
but i also heard that any primary teamed with Mental Manipulation will be good at survival, mainly because of [Drain Psyche].
also as an idea, would DS then nuke, then burnout, then nuke again save me from the end crash?
anyways please give some advice on this id love to hear what the blaster community has to say about this set and hopefully i can get some ideas and help on my second build.
many thanks guys.
