Im a little surprised by the lack of grav/emp builds. I have one nearly to 50 now I think it's fantastic. With the grav holds, singularity and propell plus hasten, I can solo all day. Mostly Im on full teams and my mates LOVE my empathy power.\

Here's my build:

I belong to two other gaming communities and these types of threads are very common. For some reason, some people feel the need to let eveyone else know that they are upset with some aspect of the game, so they create a thread in some fruitless attempt to convince others that the game is dieing. I say fruitless because the disscussion holds no purpose what so ever. Are they trying to get everyone to stand up and promote the game to gain subs? nope. They are unhappy and are facing the door but dont want to walk out by themselves.

One of the communities I belong to is a game that came onto the market in 2001. For 8-1/2 years now, you can bank on a weekly thread from a bitter player who is just upset at the developers because of game mechanics changes or lack of changes that suits their play style. So they make a thread to let everyone else know that they are P.O.'d. I point and laugh followed by a wave goodbye.

I told a couple of SG members on teamsdpeak that wiki was incorrect and they confirmed.

I was under the impression that 25 was the highest I could buy from the stores and didnt know that other zones had venders that sold higher level IOs. Now I do.

I joined the game a little while ago, decided to create one toon to take all the way to 50 so I could make all of my mistakes with him and afterwards start other toons with the knowledge from the first round.

lvl 37 Grav/Emp controller

The last 6 or 7 times I been out with teams, I have noticed that I am picking up full racks of enhancements that I cant use. My troller is Tech based and every enhancement i'm picking up is anything but technology based.

Now i'm at a point where my toon has out leveled over 95% of my enhancements. So I went to wentworths only to find 3 lousy lvl 40s that I could use.

One mistake I know I can admit to is that I have been SK'd on some higher lvl TFs which inturn netted me a full inventory of recipes that are beyond my current use. (45-50) So crafting usuable IOs is out of the question at this point.

What am I missing?

Im rather new at this myself. But if I had to guess, I'd guess that you were still in the tutorial. You will run into other players in there...just very very few.

The arrow in the upper corner means that you have leveled up. After you leave the tutorial, and go to Atlas Park, you will find Lady Liberty there. Ask around, somone will guide you to her. You'll figure the rest out when you get to her.

I wanted to reply to let you know that you are not alone. I too joined the game just less than three weeks ago and I have so many questions, im not sure which to ask first. All in due time.

After reading through this thread, I kinda feel like the odd man out. I love playing my troler and protecting my teammates. I found it to be an easy decision after looking through all the ATs and their abilities. I knew instantly that I wanted to create a controler for my first hero. I get a high off of saving that teammate from the brink of death - bringing back to life the vital tanker who is laying dead at the feet of a dozen enemy goons. I know that im not scoring all the XP that I could, but I know that I am doing my team a great service and that is all the satisfaction I need. I felt the same way playing Diablo on the playstation 10 years ago. After my first week of playing this game, I'm already seeing alot of people who have lost sight of why they play RP games like this.

I have a lvl 15 controler on Virtue named Dilirium and my last three nights of playing, I have had absolutly zero problems getting on a team. In fact, all three nights I was invited to a team less then 15 seconds after stating that I was LFT.

My wife on the other hand has a scrapper on a different server and she cant score an invite to save her life.

btw, we're in our first week of playing this game and both of are eager to learn about heading up missions to avoid this when ever possible.

@ RemianenI, you sound exactly like the leader of a team that I'd so appreciate being a part of. I like your gusto and take charge way of creating fun for yourself and your team. That's what its all about. Quite the inspiring post btw.

See, I feel that this is going to be a silly question, but I'll ask anyway.

After invites go out and the team comes together, how does the group leader select missions that go along with the level of people within the group? eg: selecting mission(s) in the sewers.

As in the case lastnight, I didnt want to start inviting people and then lead them into a mission where we all get wiped out inside of 20 seconds.

I must say, as a newer player, this is what I find to be the most frustrating.

When I learn how to, I'll be more than happy to head up missions. With the number of people I see on chat typing "lvl x charactor LFT" you'd think it would be easy to throw teams together. Lastnight when I was asking for a team to join, there were three othere similar level ATs also looking for a team at the same time.

Im carefull about making a judgement based on one little event. I'd never hold the commuity hostage because of a single player. Online gaming rule #1 with me.

Hey all. I dont really have a question...just some random thoughts.

Im just getting started and I gotta tell ya, I feel an overload coming on. I recently came over from another super complex game that I had played sinse its release in '01 and until now, I never realised how tuff the n00bs had it. I've seen so many people (game vets) get frustrated with new players and I had never givin it much though. ...until now.

Watching that chat bar is enough to make your eyes roll right out of their sockets. Just like in my other community, the lingo is rapid short hand. EVERYthing is abreviated. One could argue that is isnt even English LOL

Last night, I was asked to join someone's super group...he asked if I was a tril and then he went off on a tungue twisting whurl wind of game short hand and before I could even type out a follow up question, he rattled off another school bus load of stuff I didnt understand then he vanished.

woohoo...glad he came into my life to ease the pains of being a n00bie.

How can anyone expect a player who has a total of 3.5 hours in game total to follow along when they arn't getting schooling that is at their level?

It's like people who wake up at 6am and start making phone calls. "What? Im awake, I assumed you were as well. *little joke*

Take a minute to ask some questions to guage their level of knowledge before speaking to them "at your level" Consider who you're talking to first.

Im trying the 14day free trial and have DL'd the game. The first time clicking on the game to get going and the updater kicks in...I just let it go and came back later. Well, it's been 1-1/2 hours and we're not even to 25% yet. Is this normal? Is this an indication that my 3 year old computer is too far gone to play this game?
