I'm going earlier, November 11th is my guess.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ooooh , would be a nice birthday prezzie ))
  2. Oooh just out of interest I tried putting Cityvault after the cityofheroes.com and got "A user name and password are being requested by http://www.cityofheroes.com. The site says: "Authorized Access Only"

Hope fully that means they are working on it or maybe just that its reserved.
  3. I would love it if they did the website then added something like other games, say the Sony ones get, where you get your character info, all you badges and whats needed etc.

i would love them forever for that, as I hate having to manually track my badges, and the programs you can get either keep crashing or lag me out.
  4. I think it looks cool.

Updates the franchise nicely, and makes some sections like the media bits, much better.

Hope we do get something like it too ))
  5. Apparently the US site is being overhauled and looks pretty good. http://www.cityofheroes.com/about_th...s_overiew.html

Are we getting something like it over here too?

    Server Selection

Mind you, I wouldnt mind if they fixed the "old" character selection screen shuffle.

With one hand we got the ability to order our alts as we wish, with the other, the system has a laugh now and again and reorders them, which with 25 alts is no fun,lol

    Server Selection

This has been a bug for ages. Not just Union.

You get told to report it so they know its a problem, but then get told off if you report it more than once, but either way nothing has been done about it and it has been here since I12.

If its your first time, report it then they can ignore yours too

    Day jobs

    [ QUOTE ]
    Some people are never satisfied.
    Seriously.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And some people cant stop themselves from being snide. Seriously.

I like to earn my experience not get babysat through a game, if I wanted that I would play WoW.

I have no problem with others using it, <removed by mod: personal>, but personally those who dont want it should have the option to turn it off.

    Day jobs

While the day jobs bit looks quite cool, specially the accolades http://uk.cityofheroes.com/game-guid...ning_day_jobs/, I hope that they let you turn off the double experience feature, as personally I hate being forced to level if I want to do other things.
  10. Just noticed that there is no equivalent to recovery aura or adrenalin boost, so no blue love there.

    Question

If it was minor characters then i would probably suck it up, but if it was the mains that I have stuck with and got to 50, then I would leave.
  12. If you actually read what I said, I didnt say make it the be all and end all of the game.

Also, how would having good PVP destroy the current player base? If you dont like PVP, you dont go into the zones, its kind of simple to understand.

And I disagree about bringing in new people as some games thrive with both good PVE and PVP.

    Marketing the game as well

[/ QUOTE ]This! It seems like CoX is only passed on by word of mouth and a few MMO website reports. With all the adverts for WoW and EvE that seem to be plastered over virtually every MMO gaming site it's a miracle people know CoX exists at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Plus to be honest, although we all love CoX, it is a few years old now, so people who want to play it have probably either played it and left or are still here.

The thing that could possibly bring people in would be if the PVP was worked on to the extent that it was renowned for being excellent, unlike now which is the opposite, sadly. Even then, PVP is not everybodys thing.

I wish we could bring more people in and show them how much fun this game can be, but maybe the best we can hope for is to woo back ex-players.

I wouldnt mind betting that it comes out around the second week in November, funnily enough, thats coincides with Wrath of the Lich King, the WoW expansion.

    [/ QUOTE ]

First off, no matter how much people like to think it, or compare them, WoW and CoX are not in any form of competition. They are massively different, in different genres, of different play styles, and if NC are sheduling thier releases based on WoW (and WAR for that matter) then they are being very thick. And, frankly, I don't think they are.

The competition CoX has is yet to come out. It's CO and DCUO, and rumour has it that I14 and CO's release may be rather close together, which is far more likely a happenstance.

Secondly, if you go look at WoW Insider, you'll see a report wondering how Blizzard are going to get even vaguely close to that release date. Burning Crusade was several weeks late, as I recall. Planning your release schedules around when Blizzard say something is coming out is kind of like aiming at a moving target while standing on a teeter-board.

PS. I posted on Creative yesterday, and looked in on it today. I go there at least once a day. Grow up?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Okay I give up.

I was just raising a point and by my own admission was cynical.

And by the way the last Issue came out the day AoC was released, and although I know they are not in direct competion, other games can pull people off of an old game with long periods of nothing new.

I have seen it with the amount of people who either havent logged on for ages in SG or Global, or by people who played all hours logging off at 10pm or earlier due to boredom.

Dont get me wrong, I love this game, but I do wish it could have something to inject new life into it, which the next issue may or may not do.

Personally I dont think the mission creator will, because at the end of the day its the same old maps and enemies.

However I will end there as although for the most part the community here is good, you also get people who cant have a discussion without having a go at people and being childish.

For your information I am perfectly "grown up" and you think people need to grow up just because they dont share your opinion, then personally I feel you are the childish one.
  15. Well thats good for you, and you will obviously look forward to the creator.

But I am just saying that if people arent creative, or even just dont want to work that hard playing a game, then the mission creator offers nothing.

Plus what you have to remember is that a lot of people dont even post on the regular forums let alone go to the creative ones.
  16. Because if people dont bother reading the creative forums, then are they really going to bother with reading peoples storylines?

Another example is the "chatterbox" in LGTF, everyone just says wish she would shut up rather than reading her chatter.

    [ QUOTE ]
Of course there is nothing wrong with competition, but I do wish we had more to look forward to than a Mission creator that most people I know have no interest in.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I find this thread funny because we're not getting the mission creator in I13.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I didn't say it was. I meant that after I13, which is still probably a ways off, then we have the creator which I am not interested in, so it will be next Summer by the time there is something else possibly of interest,
  18. .....I reckon more people left or stopped playing due to WAR than the Devs thought and thats why the announcement has come out today.

Lets face it, I13 is still quite a way away using his own words (over the next few weeks we will reveal details) and I wouldnt mind betting that it comes out around the second week in November, funnily enough, thats coincides with Wrath of the Lich King, the WoW expansion.

Of course there is nothing wrong with competition, but I do wish we had more to look forward to than a Mission creator that most people I know have no interest in.

Some of you are saying you are looking forward to it, but lets face it, when was the last time you checked out the creative forum? I thought so.......
  19. "Day Jobs (Offline Character Progression)"

I must admit this idea intrigues me and could be interesting.

    Multiple Builds

This is good news and I must admit is something I would quite like for my characters.
    New Powersets

Shields – Meh, really doesnt appeal to me at all and is so un-herolike its untrue unless you can have one like Sue Storm rather than Roman ones

Pain Domination – Looking forward to villainside finally having something like Empathy.

    Levelling Pact

This is so open to abuse its untrue. The whole point of playing is to level and grow with your characters, but I guess farmers win out yet again, they dont even have to log on now. This is a BAD idea.

    The Merit Rewards System

This again could be interesting as long as they dont [censored] up the economy any more than it already is. Hopefully though, it could mean getting some purples occasionally. I play every night and yet have only had 3 since December.

    Villain Patron Power Respec

While in one way its good news, its also a bit pointless as most of the villain patron powers suck bigtime as they dont follow on from your powers like heroside.

    Supergroup Base Repricing

Again, while good for people pricewise, maybe a little variation to be able to make bases other than magic or tech would be nice, or even your own private lair.

    PvE and PvP Powers Rebalancing

    Cant help thinking "Nerf"

New Cimerora Missions, Invention Origin Sets, new Costume Sets, Zone Refinements, always good.

Although the Devs have done this, considering they said "over the next few weeks we will reveal more" means that it isnt even going to test for weeks, so how they reckon it is earlier than expected I dont know as we are already well overdue for an issue.

As for the Mission creator, I couldnt care less as it really does not appeal to me in the slightest, though it does seem to mean that I14 is something for me not to look forward to, so I will have to wait till next Summer for I15 instead.
  20. Thanks GR

Sorry, I didnt want to be a pain with this issue, its just frustrating when it is happening every night along with the "shuffling" of my characters on the login screen now and again.

I would just rather be playing than verifying my files over and over.
  21. Plus they advise adding to the original ticket and update it....are you kidding?

So every time it happens, ie every time I play, I am supposed to go onto the nc page login, find the ticket, say oh look surprise I crashed yet again.........when its easier to do it ingame if I have to do it.

So much hassle for a 4 year old game whose login screen should be well working by now.
  22. Well I reported my latest one and have sort of been told not to report it more than once.

Do I listen to support or GR?
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Just been on test server to do some X4 things and swapping toons didn't crash me today. I guess today's patch was a fix for this?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why are you getting funny? All I was doing was saying that it wasnt fixed? Not getting at you or anything.......have you taken your tablets today? Paranoia is a terrible thing
  24. Thanks GR

I do understand, but sometimes it is like knocking your head against the proverbial brick wall.

For example, I have just had the crash again (yes, the_rent, that means it isnt fixed), do I report it yet again, knowing I will get the endless stream of DX, Everest etc tests, or not?

Although I would dearly love to have it fixed, it is also a lot of hassle when you have done it before and nobody checks to see if you have.

Plus, if it has been escalated, technically you are dealt with, so you shouldnt report it again?

To be honest, also, it reeks of poor customer service too. Its the equivalent of me saying to a customer, oh I have passed it on to a manager so thats my job done but your bill will still stay wrong.

As for priorities, this bug is on peoples login screen, and I cant particularly think of anything more important than your customers being able to log in.

Well, all that plus I would probably get some numbnuts send an email saying "thanks for reporting your problem with Guild Wars", which I have had in the past.
