Silky and I will be up for that. Although anything we do should start a little earlier. With this buggy new issue we are heading back into "kicked off early" mode. The servers shut down at 11 pm EST tonight.
  2. I love SB to bits. It makes most toons that little bit better to play. Although to be fair it's rare to team with a kin who consistantly keeps you buffed.

Would I be ticked off if we teamed and I saw you didn't have it? Nope. Maybe a little dissapointed but pal it's your toon and you should pick the powers that go with the concept in your head. The biggest priority is that you enjoy playing him/her and there would be very few non standard toon builds that can't add something to a team.

I know you were joking but don't discount it. Many years ago I was working with a colleague in our organisations server room and we were carrying something heavy behind the desk the main servers were sitting on. My mate was walking backwards while struggling with his end of the load and he trod on a power cable pulling it out enough to cut off the power to one of the file servers. We first realised this when we heard that dreaded winding down sound of the fans etc. In a panic we plugged it back in and restarted the server.

Amazingly no one seemed to notice.
  4. You are voting for something without even waiting to see if the new features will create a need for it.

Us poor sods here in the Oceanic time zones faught long and hard to get our peak playing times from being constantly cut short. When the servers are currently closed it still during our main playing times but we have learned to work around these as they are not too frequent. If the second maintenance period is restored realistically it has to be on friday which is our biggest night.

Anyhow. There is nothing to show this is even needed yet so I don't even get the point of it being asked for.

I understand where you are coming from but I don't really agree that it's free. The devs are making this content while being paid wages coming from the money we pay. Also if they weren't adding new content not only would there be far less veterans few people would be willing to pay as much as $15 per month.

The bottom line is we are paying money which NCsoft is using to make extra content. Which doesn't make it free to me. Part of that money is to pay for servers etc obviously. But only part.

Or do you think they are going to leave the effects of the error in place because they are afraid they can't readily repair the damage safely? The two aren't the same, and to say you are doing something for the first reason when you are really doing it for the second is "spinning".
I'm sorry but you are obviously getting confused about what I said. In both posts I said quite clearly that reinserting the old costume/power data into the current database is something they are unlikely to do due to how complex and risky it is. As simple as that.

Oh and that was a comment from me. They have not as yet said what they are going to do so any complaints about "spinning" is jumping the gun enormously. I was simply explaining to those who might call for the old data to be reinserted that it was not a simple task and from my experience something that was unlikely to happen.

Of course it would. Hence the smiley. I wasn't for a second being serious about that bit.

Sorry but there is nothing "spin doctoring" about what I said. Selectively reinserting old data into a constantly growing "live" database is frought with danger as any developer or db administrator will tell you.
  8. They will not be able to restore the costume/power info from backup I'm afraid. To do so would over write any changes made to costumes since the new issue went live.

We're going to have to live with the costume tokens I expect. Although a free month would be nice to make up for it.
  9. Okay. To add to this I've now got costume parts changed. I've just logged on a character that was using mostly the metallic texture for almost the entire body but that has now been switched to other parts. Not only that her spines have all been reset to those horrible banana things. This is most anoying.
  10. Yep. I don't know about everyone of my characters but it has definitly happened to two of them. I've already used up two costume tokens and paid a little money to fix one of the characters.
  11. I agree it's not a major issue but it is definitly not due to this being a low end system. It's a newish computer with a high end graphics card.
  12. This is a bit of an odd one. I've currently running around atlas park and I was noticing that that the npc's look "pinched". By that i mean that the top half of their bodies look like they have been crushed to half their normal width. Once you get close to them they pop back to normal. I'm assuming this is an issue with the "distance" version of their meshes.

Is everyone else seeing this or is it a driver issue? I'm using a Geforce GTX 285.
  13. As the title suggests has anyone put together a guide for which enemy groups are vulnerable to what damage types? In other words something to help us actual tell which bullets we should be using against which bad / good guy.

If not can someone please tell me how I would go about finding out said information and I'll put together a guide myself.

    Many thanks.
  14. Thanks for the good news Necrotech.
  15. I've searched and found no reference to this but it's something I've been meaning to bring up for a while.

Can we have the old animation for using a wakie back? For a while now it has been changed to the current one where the user simply pops straight up to his/her feet. It was much better (realistic) when we got to our feet normally.
  16. I'm sorry but I don't think any of these inf sink ideas will have the desired effect. Your worried that people have too many billions of inf... for these sinks to have any impact these extra saleable items will have to be out of the reach of most of us.
  17. Thanks Lili. I've reread the original post and I'll adjust my channel's accordingly and pass the news on to some interested parties.

Thanks for all the hard work mate.

They have already previously responded to that bit. Due to the defragmenting and other routines they need to run during maintenance they cannot roll out patches at the same time.

And while I agree the patching should have stuck to their previously announced nights I reckon we should wait to see if this is just an isolated incident before making a fuss. They bent over backwards for us and changed their global maintenance shedule when we let them know how much it was affecting us last time so I think we owe them a little patience.
  19. I knew there was a reason I enjoyed teaming in this game more than any other MMO I've tried. I'm 44 and every other Friday night this room is packed with computers and two of my mates (45 and 39) team with myself and my 16 year old son. And we have a blast.
  20. Staff use?? Did someone say staff use? Yippee. I've been hoping that was coming. If they can give me that and the ability to turn off that blasted hasten glow I will be as happy as a pig in effluent.
  21. I had an absolute ball over the long weekend. I got the following levels on some of my characters:

Redback Rose (Dual Pistols/MM Blaster) from 5 to 25
    Blue-Venom (Crab Spider) from 17 to 27
Amazon Anne (Plant / Thorns Dominator) from 30 to 34
Henry's Shadow (Dark / Dark Defender) from 32 to 33
Knightblade Squall (Mind / Storm Controller) from 22 to 26
Knightdreams (Illus / Rad Controller) from 1 to 9
Iron Maiden (Spine / Fire Scrapper) from 39 to 41
Sgt. Lance Boyll (Energy / Energy Blaster) from 40 to 41
Mr Styx (Dual Pistol / Dark Corrupter) From 1 to 4

So 55 levels over 3+ days. And thats just from normal teaming, we never went near the AE building.

    i17 and hasten

Devs (or someone in the know) can you please let us know if hasten is going to be customizable by i17? Those glowing hands are a pain at the best of times but now they are really driving me nuts. I've made myself a Dual Pistol blaster and I am absolutely loving the new set. It is great fun to play. The only issue is you can't actually see your pistols while hasten is active.

Not a massive problem I know and it's not bothering me enough to stop me enjoying the set but I would dearly love to be able to turn this effect off.

You've said it's coming but do you have any timeline for it yet?

On a final note great job on the new powerset guys. I haven't come across a person yet who hasn't liked it.
  23. Yay. I was hoping you guys would do something like this. Many many thanks.
  24. Nope.. still not working here

tried the modified shortcut as well with no joy.
