SINISTER Wednesdays

A new day means a new thread! Starting this week the SINISTER event will be on Wednesdays.

Start time is 20:30 Aussie Eastern time
Server is Justice
Faction is villains

Feel free to announce your arrival in this thread, or discuss future plans, although most people just turn up. Global channel Australia is the best way to find us, or just look around for suspicious looking people. I'm @Lili if you want to send me a tell.

This week we'll be doing the Operative Renault Strike Force, levels 25-30, meeting in Sharkhead Isle.

If that's not your cup of tea, there will almost certainly be other opportunities as well since we always have many more than 8 people. See you there.

providing no real life dramas happen, I'll bring something along for the SF

Little less conversation - little more action please

Liliaceae, you may have to put off the Strike Force considering every Tom, Dick and Harry will be doing the Halloween thing

Yes, I thought of that when I realized the event was active. The new badges seem to require a fair number of people, so perhaps we'll do a shorter SF and then move on to Halloween stuff. In the past it was hard to do badge hunting at the beginning because of the way Jack in Irons spawns, but it seems there's plenty of other stuff this year.

Well that worked out pretty well. Eight of us did the Renault SF in 90 minutes, and then we followed it up with some Halloween activities, culminating in a successful shutdown of "Supernatural activities".

How would people feel about a "Rikti vs. Zombies" thing next week? We kick off a bunch of Lady Grey Task Forces, and queue up some alts with Halloween salvage. When the supernatural event starts we complete the Lady Greys and hand in the salvage and hope to get some zone event overlap.

While I do love Lady Grey (and her TF), I have to wonder whether there'd be code to prevent the two events from happening in the same zone. Or do you have some inside information on this one?

Incidentally, the supernatural event's stubborness meant that I only got four hours of sleep last night. Totally worth it. :P

No inside information, just a will to break it. CoV only has a few zones, so it'd be easy to fill them all up with events, but unfortunately the Rikti attack can happen on either side.

I'm sure I've seen doubled up invasions before, so it must be possible.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

Maintenance tonight, the event is cancelled. Sorry everyone.

Next week we will do Lady Grey, and I'll organize costume salvage and everything else also. I'll post on Justice forums to maybe get a little more support behind the stacked invasions.

That works out well for me anyway, I'm going to be on a plane tonight.

Tonight it's the Lady Grey Task Force, starting as usual at 20:30. Minimum level is now 45 unfortunately.

When the Rikti attack at the end, we'll hope it happens in a villain zone, and we'll rush there to hunt GMs and fight Rikti at the same time. (Hopefully.)

Can take a break at any time to do Halloween stuff if people are interested.

Tonight is the last night of Halloween, so let's tackle Eochai and Jack in Irons, with a Banner run if we can handle it. All levels welcome for this activity since we'll do it in Mercy Island.

After last Wednesday, Eochai must have been glad that Halloween was over, too bad that Jack of Irons wouldn't come out to play. Next Week:

Demonic Accolade

We'll get together and earn the Demonic Accolade. I've got the badge mission ready on one of my characters, so we can include characters below 25. If you're interested, particularly with a lower level character, then let me know because spots may be tight on the badge mission.

We'll start at 20:30 with the history and explore badges, then move on to the defeat badge and end things with the badge mission. (And probably repeat the history and explore badges for latecomers!)

In case anyone's concerned, I have the required badge mission ready to go as well, and I'll be running it at the end of the event in case anyone still needs it.

8 of us harnessed our inner demons last week. This week we'll be doing something a little more XP-oriented. We'll start with the Plaguecarrier badge mission, "Deliver the canisters of Outbreak" which is a great experience in the 10-15 level range. After that we can move on to some other missions in Cap au Diable, perhaps doing the Paragon of Vice badge mission if I can lay my hands on it.

Posted

I picked up the Bad Luck badge mission just now, so I'll save that for tonight as well.

Since last week most of us made it to level 15, tonight we'll do the Virgil SF. It'll be a slow one with low level characters earning XP. Minimum level is 15. If we have more than 8 players we'll just split up and do several simultaneously.

It wasn't a speed SF, but we had plenty of fun and most of us gained a level. But best of all was watching the Longbow ambushes, for a team of 8, pile up in the 5th mission. I definitely prefer the full frontal attack over pulling, but sometimes it's just not reasonable. Check it out:

Recipe for a hard-fought Silver Mantis SF:

1] Full team of 8 with 2 stalkers.
2] Don't bother understanding the new SSK system with respect to leaders of SFs and get stuck at level 24 for the whole SF.

And most importantly:

3] Get stuck with strange Turret spawning in the final mission which replaces all of the regular turret minions (except pop-ups) with Boss turrets - the Incendiary ones. Few of us can stand up in the face of two of these Boss turrets, let alone 4 or 5 of them, with their huge range.

Of course, best to do do this after doing a Virgil Tarikoss SF with a team of 8 also.

If anyone else has more information on turret spawning in this SF I'd be interested to hear.

So, we had a good night, with 3 SFs running last night.

I'm not sure what will happen next week, or if I'll be able to play even.

I am thinking I better start logging back into game for some of these nights, they look like fun!

Definitely Snoof, you'd be more than welcome!

So, I did a little test with Silver Mantis, and learned two things:

1] For a team of 4, minion turrets do spawn as usual, and the base is a lot less deadly.

2] Using a Shivan, insps and Accolades I can solo Duray, and by extension the entire SF. I sure do miss Blaze though!

Yes, there's a point where all the Boss turrets become Toxic Missile Turrets (I think around 6 team mates) and another at 8 where all (or most) of the non-popup turrets become Boss turrets. That one is tough.

Tonight will be the winter event festivities.

How did the winter event festivities go last night? I ended up trying to find the character which was on hide, still haven't found it o_O
