  1. loved flcl, very little was actually explained and the audience was forced to think and interpret for themselves as to what things meant. also about growing up, but sp seems to be more about young adulthood to maturity whereas flcl was about growing from a child to young adulthood.

    So I saw Machete

ok, chrome broached the topic, but which one would you say is better sho? or anyone else. I suspect that machete may be more my speed, not just because of michelle redriguez(though she does help), but because it seems to be a bit more balanced between hand to hand fights and gun battles, whereas expendables seems to be straight up gun-porn

hmm, depends, as a fan of stories like serial experiments lain and boogipop phantom, to me a setting that is seemingly mundane but has flashes of strangeness is what makes it interesting and the fact that they are not explained only gave me the curiosity to think about what was left unsaid, to interpret rather than to have everything fed to me. heck, what really went on in pi? you have to think about it, nothing is given to you. heck, the writings of h.p. lovecraft and neil gaimen are the same way, ostensibly in the real world but probing the underside to show something a great deal more fantastic that is never fully explained, and thats how they stay fantastic.

yeah, but they seemed to be going with the bee outfit she wore in the "papparazzi" video. It had both the flip up glasses and the weird heart lips lipstick..though it was black in the video.
  6. well, yeah, sadly this is the weakness of heavily instanced games, only so many maps and art assets exist, that said, have you played any of the big games out there where they sent you to go whomp a named big bad, a climactic event...and then after you beat him, you see the line of guys waiting for the 5-10 minutes till he re-spawns, here when you beat a big bad, he is done for you unless you help someone else with a mission its going to hurt either ways. now i actually find street sweeping still viable, some spawns have lower risk or higher reward than you find in a mission, and as a stalker, lone standing bosses are so much christmas hams waiting to be carved. but you sacrifice the mission complete bonus, but this really isnt a race, you do what you enjoy, the general consensus of the community is that they HATE kill 10 rats missions that generally comprise many other mmo's overworld stuff. So yeah, repetition does stink, this particular type of repetition is kind of unavoidable with this particular type of game. mmos have flaws. also, you are 30, have you been to an ornabegan map? or a council one? there are variations, you just have to look for hints in the mission text.

as for powers, it really is a quality/quantity thing, many mmos toss a large number of skills at you, but they all do largely the same thing, one thing that is appreciable here is that most fights with even con enemies are over in 2-3 hits, i know when i tried other games and had to deal with the flailing auto hit in between my skills i went nuts, here each power is more compartmentalized, but also more meaningful, you wont be getting smite, smite 2 and smite 3 to bloat your toolbar, you will be getting unique powers that you can further customize with slotting and invention origin enhances.

well, its unfortunate that you didnt like the game, everyone has their preferences, and hope you have better luck in the future finding a game for yours, have a good one.

That being said, I don't think it is needed either.
ddo gets mentioned a lot, but I do kind of wonder about how much the example really shows. a modest game gettign a significant cash infusion, or a near-dead game getting a very modest infusion of cash that only looks good when expressed in percentages relative to how much they were making on subs. Maybe when coh 2 hits, a smart move would be to transition this game to f2p. they could still string it along for a while, but it would primarily be a feeder to the sub based sequel. that said, i dont disagree with munki much, if it went f2p, i wouldn't be really upset, but i kind of prefer the reliability of income that the sub fees give our game. f2p didnt help that game we all are thinking about that ncsoft killed much, even with relatively good reviews.

Is this right guys and gals? there are enough costume pieces, we dont need any more? are bugfixes that only affect a small part of the community usually big news for a convention? if theya re broken, then fixing them should be a normal procedure, not a groundbreaking announcement. by the way, why exactly are you and neut treating them as issues that would be fixed by the same groups? i doubt that jay or david would be part of fixing a pvp matter.
  11. in my "Favorite rwz mission, im often screaming "its a handgun, you can shoot the guys who explode on death from a distance..how in the hell did you become a general?"

hmm more costume pieces or pvp, yeah, you would definitely make more people happy by spending resources on pvp than expanding the costume pieces cute 4chan styled furry baiting though. stay classy

  15. im sure we could all list reams of things we would have liked, the question i guess is that if you look at the average content of expansions in the numerous mmos out there, can you honestly say that in comparison gr was really that light. now, ignoring the gorilla, since i never played the expansions and they have the financial resources of a medium sized european country, but going back to the original 3d gorilla, im not seeing a significantly large gulf of content, insofar as it can be directly compared.
I mean yeah, i want my usual list of dinosaur island, Japanese zone yadda yadda, but reasonably looking at what can be expected, its not that far off. I'd have liked more costume pieces, particularly since those that we got were all natural/tech looking(ok omega could be science/mutant/magic). but im not going to even pretend that im objective or rational on that topic, so im not going to say that i had a rational expectation to disappoint or not.
  16. did you mention for him to STAND THE @#$% STILL AND QUIT SHOUTING? that probably would help him.

  18. or zorro really. but its silly to nitpick, he certainly is one of the few recent latino superheros(id also argue that cougar, from "the losers", was pretty superpowered). its cool that he turned himself around from being an ex con to being a actor who basically is a professional tough guy. i view him as a victory for guys with less than perfect faces, who actually look like fighters, not these orlando bloom pretty boys.
  19. back when i played that game that shall not be mentioned, this was similar to my mon calamari character, while he keenly was aware of the racism inherent in the empire, he also saw that they brought order(through censored media, he was less informed on how they enforced order). he was very much in my mind duirng some discussion in gr beat about how a good character coudl be a loyalist

have you looked at the server lists lately? during the night they are all yellow or red, these are servers that havent been yellow on recent double exp weekends. lets be at least somewhat honest here, somebody is here that wasnt before gr launched. some will elave, hopefully some will stay, but to say that adding content was an idea that was not the way to go to get new people subscribed is simply demonstrably false.
  21. just to answer a question i sure as heck was wondering. paragon and crew are up at 1030 on saturday. hopefully that is when the info juices can flow. i trust we will have some scribes on hand to twitter us up to the minute?
