  2. ask a question, get an answer. I screwed around with it casually when it came out, idiots inevitably showed up. Its nothing anyone can fix mechanically because it was the community that dives people off.

Be a pretty **** ending if they didn't, and most of Dark Astoria's story seems to be better than this. The story has also managed to so far deliver an actually hopeful narrative within an environment of hopelessness, because my character is not shown to be succumbing to all the horrors. On the contrary, she's shown as resisting them and doing the right thing, which pleases me greatly.

Playing that one mission against an army of enemies alone was... An experience. That kind of sucked, but I chose to go it alone. Not sure if I want to do it again, but I might. Maybe with a level shift, though.
ok, good thats what i was getting at, the end of that arc may well have you making a happy thread about it.

and yes, getting the "knows no fear" badge was an experience, since rian does primarily smashing damage, the monsters taught me the value of strategy(hurt the cycs first till they all use unstoppable, turn on the minos, then mop up the cycs when they crash) i had some humbling moments :P
  4. it is suspected but not confirmed that the praetorian de are really some bad mamma jammas. they couldnt overwhelm cole and his crew, but they stalemated them and put them on disciplinary notice. im hoping the last hurrah is a major throw down with them.
  5. its complicate. givanna scaldi, the original posessor of the power, was a mutant. her soul was trapped in the mask as a safeguard by her lover, an occultist. the mask was then found by her ancestor, vanessa devore, who was able to, with no training hold her off when she tried to possess her. now nessa is kind of a wildcard, as they dont explicitly say she had psychic powers, but a shared bloodline with a mutant, compounded with the fact that she coudl resist her powerful ancestor indicates she is a mutant too. furthermore, the rest of the carnies are puppets used by her to gather souls to feed her. so mutant still seems to be the main theme, but with a magic ritual by a third party serving as the bridge to bring giovanna and venessa together.

heres the official write up. http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/game_i...of_shadows.php

Mother Mayhem looks more like she should be part of Josie and the Pussycats.

Still, as long as my toons get to wear a cape and spandex, it's all good.
while doing the exact comic staple of fighting just a few unique spandex villains is kind of impractical for the mmo setup, i reiterate, tips have a lot of the classic recurring enemies in more traditional comic costumes stuff that some people like. and some of the writing is quite clever.

ya know.. psychics have generally been portrayed as mutant, and most of the higher up soldiers are psychic. so they kind of skate mutant and magic, maybe mutants with an interest in magical artifacts as well.
  8. Ok, while i still would be incredibly surprised if this were to coem to pass as anything other than a shape shift option because adapting new body types tot he existing general weapon/power choice would be a ludicrous amount of work. there exists another option for weapon using animals. in the game okami (and its swquel okamiden, both games you should have played) they detached the weapon entirely from the character and simply had the weapons float freely over the character and move in distinct animations that would not be as limited by the grip in the mouth thing. it worked for the game and, if the devs decided this was a worthwhile investment of resources, could be used here. of course, id be busy spending my multiple loottery winnings treating my wounds from lightning strikes and shark attacks that i would have suffered in a situation of such probability

oh, and leo, gg has mentioned several times she trained in martial arts, its why her character is what she is. never mentioned the style, other than to suggest it was "kung fu" which is kinda broad, ill admit
  9. yeah, this appears to be a hipster dog.

while not tied to specific names, there are the recurring cast of anthropomorphic characters in pocket d, they even were at states' funeral.

  12. unspecific wording intentional i have seen zwill's rocket launcher
  13. technically we already have snake people in the game. the issue with the request is not that its impossible but that they cant just chop up animations, new body types need entirely new animations, both older ones and going forward. many of these ideas would personally work for me, but I realized that the amount of animation work required would make them unlikely as body types.
as is fairly common gray market information right about now, shapeshifts into unspecified animals seems to be a likelihood, and they currently exist for khelds, and that solves the animation issue by forcing players into non-customizable forms with limited animations. that is far more reasonable than making them body types, which the developers have been understandably hesitant to add.

Because, to me, that is a reason NEVER to see the outfit in this game.
the shirt is excessive, but lets not go forest and trees here. the general point is that the long loin cloth type dress with "eastern" patterns on is is very much the dress i have been nagging for for some time when i go on about the cheongsam dress in so many costume threads(this technically is not one of those but the lower body part would be similar). the sleeves would be nice too.

plus in game the shirt is not as bad, the pictures tend to be a bit bat-nuts fanservicey. that particular character is one of my favorite in that particular series given her look, fighting style and weapon.

hey, those 14 month things are cost effective.
also, check the beta server, post freedom, they havent done closed betas, but rather vip betas, so if you are back to subscribed, you can check the new hotness. suffice to say, yeah the 4 leg rig is getting used. no bears though. apparently they fight on their hind legs, so animating it is currently not in the books. also, check out titan weapons, its a fairly fun aoe heavy melee set.

oh and you mentioned a stalker, check em out now, they got buffed.

    Unique Content

I think what jaz is getting at is specific recurring costumed enemies that come out to harass your hero, like the rhino, lizard and mysterio for spidey. They aren't his big enemies like doc ock or green goblin who can carry on a long plot, but they show up for some specific crimes and have a fight. not a full issue worth of content dealing with them, but they pop up every once and a while to bug you. Also sounds sort of like what we get with tip missions, with recurring enemies like mangle, doc quantum and blast furnace who keep popping up and have somewhat consistent ways of causing trouble. I wouldnt be adverse to more tip missions to further flesh these guys out. wouldn't give them wholly new henchmen, but tailor the group they deal with with the mayhem they are causing, sure.
  19. since your name is yellow, go to beta, issue 23 is on there.
  20. well davy, as I said, what i think would make both parties happy would be for a feathered fringe to be a choosable option for a base scaly head, as well as fins, bone ridges like a triceratops and maybe a few hornstyles.

One basic thing we have to recall is that pc rigs wont really look like correct dinosaurs, furthermore people will be using the heads for other general functions, like mutants, lizardmen, and maybe a dragon or 2(just maybe...think i know a guy with a dragon thing going on.) so i think that its important that they do respect authenticity as a choice, other more iconic, if less accurate options should also be available. that you, those who want authentic dinosaur looks, and me on some costumes, can have the feathers, but they will be among several options.

  22. My robot characters are tech. but ultimately origins are personal preference, make what you want, there is a lot of blur, so really just ask yourself, can you justify it to your own satisfaction? if so, go crazy.
