  1. It looks really good. A sg mate that has been gone awhile just came back and poked his head in the base. I think he spent almost 30 mins moving around that one room amazed.

As you can see, I've got 3 usable floors of space ... with the lowest floor, underneath everything, being a "relax & research" area. The "first" floor of salvage racks (marked with the black and white banners) is for common salvage and is divided up by salvage Tiers (1, 2 and 3). The "upper" floor of salvage racks (marked by orange and yellow banners) is for uncommon and rare salvage ... again divided up by Tiers. This helps keep everything "sorted" so that you know exactly which rack to go to in order to find stuff you're looking for. The arcane Empowerment Station is on the uppermost floor. All the way down on the "ground" floor, near the trees, is the Arcane Transfer rack. This last salvage rack is intended to be kept (relatively) empty so as to facilitate transfers of salvage between characters in the SG.

Note that the trees are very useful for "obscuration" to hide the fact that I've got stairs hanging in the air without adequate supports.

For those who are curious, the Room Lighting is "off" and all light is supplied by local sources ... resulting in an "islands of warmth and comfort" feeling.

    So there you have it.
    A 3 floored Workshop Room.
And I've still got a huge 3x3 set of floor blocks to fill out with yet more decorations.
That is a really nice workshop you have there.
  3. Turbo is doing an amazing job every time I go to the base I am more and more impressed. Sadly some family issues have been keeping me fairly busy so I haven't had a chance to post much here but I over the next few days I will try to take some more screen shots and post some thoughts on this project.
  4. My Build so far... please keep in mind I have a ton of stuff I want to add IO wise I stopped working on her slotting quite some time ago.

probably shouldn't double post but just to this point. Earth/Storm won't usually solo a AV or GM without a ton of temps and luck the damage output is just too low solo. Although if the AV resist knockback your tornado will pump out some nice damage on them.
  6. I have a primarly ranged Earth/Storm/Ice. I will post the build when I get home from work but basically she excels in AOE controls.

I single Earth/Storm should be able to juggle 3-4 spawns at a time for a team if needed due to accidental aggro. Your going to have a ton of hate coming your way so you would need a team that can recover quickly but still I know its possible.

In the Earth set I skipped Salt Crystals and in Storm I skipped Hurricane, Thunder Clap and Snow Storm.

Tactics that can help control mutliple spawns at once include:

Stalagmites + Stone Cages for a type of short AOE hold

Volcanic gasses + Quick Sand slows foes long enough for the holds to stack

Earth Quake + Freezing Rain (and ice storm in my case) debuffs, slows and has foes flopping around quite a bit for the durations

Tornado on a fourth group will toss just enough people around to keep most of that spawn off your back.

  8. So after admiring some of the incredible bases displayed in this section of the forums I finally decided to do something about my SGs sad little base. I reached out to Turbo_Starr who very kindly agreed to step in and give the old base a makeover. I've turned over full design control and a budget of 19 million prestige to Turbo and this thread will detail what happens when people stop being polite and start being... err wait wrong show.

Anyway we are a small sg who aren't into raiding at all.

I don't think anyone wants the spam back however coming into a game like this and not being able to communicate really can turn away a new player. I know when I started here (my first ever mmo) I didn't know how to use the chat system and since it was beta there was no real place to get that info from (I think someone on the forums eventually told me I don't really remember how I found out). It can be very lonely.

Personally I support the trial account restrictions being modified in some way to allow those accounts a bit more ability to interact with other players.
  10. Every so often this happens...

I am fighting usually teamed and sending tells to someone at some point I think I've clicked the chat window and start typing away only to realize I am running in and around many angry mobs.

It doesn't help that I play with all the game sounds off so there literally is no warning if I am at all distracted by something I won't know whats happening until I turn around again.

By todays standards i'ld happily say that players prefer missions that dont seem to last forever and would rather play short/medium sized ones.

So what missions do you feel that need to be tweaked to be made either smaller or even a bit larger? The first main mission in my opinion is
    • Atta - the cave is simply too big. Yes he is usually at the T junction of debt part but that mission alone has the length of a small taskforce. Dont think i've been in a team that hasnt changed at least 3 times during a single Atta mission. By making it a bit smaller it could prove to become popular and the teens version of frostfire again. [re the map, it should stay the same size for the warriors version of this in the midnighters arc, by then players are able to go through it much quicker]
You leave my ATTA mission alone... I love this mission even if it does take a bit of time to totally clear. Ideally a full 8 man team... if your team is good its a ton of fun.
  12. I am dealing with something similiar but I am getting actual stop error msgs. All the hardware has checked tested ok so at this point I am likely going to reinstall windows.

Oddly this only happens when running COH. Good Luck with everything.

Generally, you are correct, it wasn't the End drain (except in rare circumstances where I'd kill 3 or more at the same time... ^^;; )

The problem she had was, as usual, with the bosses (and higher) of the arc. Who could pretty much take her apart as soon as look at her.

Really??? My BS/Regen doesn't break a sweat with a carnie unless its a master illusionist who is a level or two higher than him and even than I can pop dull pain and instant healing and go to town. The worst part of that fight is having a dark servant in your face with those -acc debuffs.

Other than what everyone else said about Scrappers, I find my controllers have a mostly easy time with carnies.

    Dumb Moments...

My dumbest moment was in beta. This was my very first MMO ever and since it was a beta there was very very few instructions (yes I actually read them when they are there) so I logged in spent forever making my first blaster showed up in Atlas park and was amazed at all the other heroes. I started doing missions and every so often someone would talk to me usually asking if I want to team up. Sadly I had no idea how to use the chat system so for the first week or two I would get all kinds of msgs and had no way to respond. I honestly don't recall exactly how I learned to chat but I almost quit the game due to being embarrased about not being able to respond to people.
  15. Hmmm I think I will be joining a few of these.

Don't remember what I was running on the mission in question, but I keep wanting to say a Fire/Fire Blaster. For some reason, I remember them scattering a lot and draining me to nothing in a little over a single volley. That's Electric/Electric minions and lieutenants, by the way. Think they ran the gamut of available Electrical powersets, too. Electrical Blast/Electrical Manipulation, Electrical Assault/Electrical Armour, Electrical Melee/Electrical Armour and so on. Quit mid-way through the same mission because it wasn't worth the slog.

I need to find that mission my BS/Regen would love to try it.

    Rularuu!

I hope not. I am of the opinion that there should be some mobs at that level that are deadly to most players. I really think Rularuu is one of the best balanced groups in that they have an answer for just about every powerset a player can pick.

I say let Rularuu and Malta be the guys level 50s are a bit afraid of. We already have a bunch of other guys we can shred fairly easily.

Tier 4 Teleport power to me should have Assemble the Team added to the mix. Very useful and very popular.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not gonna happen, no matter how useful it would be. It would invalidate the 42 month Veteran Reward.

Maybe an emergency exit power, that sends the player and those around him back to the beginning of a mission map?

    [/ QUOTE ]

This reasoning behind adding an "Assemble the Team"-like power invaliding a Vet Reward doesn't make sense. The power already existed in game as a Temp Power from a Safeguard/Mayhem. Vets get access to permanent Nemesis Staves and Blackwands, which were once only obtained as Temp Powers as well.

If anything, making that an option for the Teleport Pool gives a Vet access to the same power twice, while eliminated the "need" to pick it up at all for some. It won't invalidate anything unless the recharge on it is really short, which I don't believe it would be. But at the same time, I don't see that type of power being added as a chooseable power to begin with.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thank god someone said this. To say it invalidated the veteran reward is, imo, foolishness in the utmost extreme. Not to mention, those of us with longer perceptions of the game time line know that the power was already in the game and available to players long ago and removed from gravity control for the most dubious of "balance" reasons and replaced with wormhole. Did the sands of mu temp power invalidate shadow maul? Did shadow maul invalidate the veteran reward. Did the veteran reward invalidate the sands of mu temp and shadow maul?!?! THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW HOW MANY THINGS HAVE BEEN INVALIDATED, THE HORROR.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're correct that it was originally in game as part of the Gravity control set but it was replaced by Singularity not Wormhole.

I'm afraid I have to agree that Assemble team should stay a temp power outside of the vet reward. I also agree that I would like to see something done to the team teleport/flight. The suggestion of making group fly a click is wonderful and if they did that in addition to dropping the -ACC I think the power would get used quite a bit more. As for Team Teleport I really don't know what would make that better. Maybe it should be changed to some sort of attack instead of another movement power.
  23. Seriously I love the fact that Malta scares people. If it were up to me I would probably make them just a little bit stronger. It's a group designed to hunt and take down Supers. I want to expect everytime I fight them that they have trained and prepared for an attack from heroes and villians.

I know people avoid them already and I am not suggesting that they get stronger without an equal buff to their rewards. I am also not looking for the bigger rewards I just figure it makes it a little more tempting for teams to take them on.
