  1. If I post a MIDS build I get all the code displayed.

Well Actually I do get some of the format, but the color is not displayed. Instead the color html code is displayed. I noticed this on several peoples postings and of course I noticed this with the new version of MIDS.

This is what I get: "[color:#489AFF]Villain Plan by Mids' Villain Designer 1.621[/color]"

I do not know if it has to do with the new version of MIDS or that my HTML code on the bottom of the page says off.

Anyone have a clue on this. I didn't read anything on MIDS forums that would indicate an issue with the builder. So my guess is the HTML is off.
  2. Sorry I should have put my spec in.. It is for my Rad Kin

I think I am having issues keeping sight on what IO's are for sometimes and tend to go to some useless extremes with them. Weeks later I come back to look at the spec and wonder myself what I was thinking at the time.

Part of me also hates thinking of spending a billion or half a billion of Inful / Infamy on one toon. At least right now.
  3. Was thinking of 5 slotting Irradiate with the follow IO Procs

Touch of lady Gray - Chance for Negative Damage
Achilles Heel - Chance for Res Debuff
Analyze Weakness - chance for +tohit
Shield Breaker - Chance for Lethal Damage
Eradication - Chance for Energy Damage

I currently have lady gray chance for negative damage slotted with 4 other PBAOE IO's slotted in it.
  4. I have a Dark Electric build I am working on and have Thunderous Blast. Here are my issues.

If I am in a team, Twilight Grasp and my other debuffs seem more important to keep maintained then dropping a TB shot, which is not killing anything atm slotted with SO's. I noticed of course when I use TB in a group everything goes down the crapper. Twilight Grasp cannot be used when needed, which includes myself. Shadowfall really did make a difference.

If I am solo I am running 0 +5 and again using TB anytime ends up killing me or almost killing me as I use a bunch of Insp to get me back up and running after using TB.

Is the power just that situational or am I just doing it wrong. I am feeling I could use something more useful in its place. I was thinking it was going to be more like a Blasters nuke, which it seems it is not.

Sorry Darkity I just don't understand what your saying about having cloud sense proc off all abilities.

I am reworking Twilight Grasp to make more sense. I seen new shiny IO's ( since I came back ) and got attracted to the newness of it.
  6. Thanks for all the info.

There is really no reasons why I am slotting some stuff. EG 6 slotting touch of nictus.

It seems I have lost some sense of direction with IO's. As a perfect example the I didn't pick the range extension in Positron Blast set, but I picked it more for the damage increase. Of course stepping back now and taking another look I can see some stuff is all over the place.

I know I started asking about VS and DS and it seems the build needs work beyond these 2 powers.
  7. Ahh thanks tons..

Going to give it a shot and let you know the results
  8. Just got my Rad Kin to 50. Was looking to respec. Though to be perfectly honest I have NOT A CLUE where to go with him. It's obvious Endurance is never an issue, which is such a odd feeling since I always have to work out endurance issues with all my other characters.

I do not have a travel power but instead have Ninja run and Inertial Reduction which works out pretty good.

Nonetheless I was wondering if anyone has or used Atomic blast and could give some accurate insight on it. I pretty much figured Aim, Atomic Blast, pop blue, Transference and kill off what is left.. But I NEVER seen anyone use it before.

    Soloing AV/GM's

As far as Sonic Traps goes for AV & GM soloing.

What exactly are we looking to do ?

Are we looking to get to the Defense cap ?

I found this build, it was from a Archery Trap build someone posted. I stripped it down and it covers the AOE and Range Defense cap

  10. Hey thanks tons again

You come back to a game almost 2 years later. You have a bunch of 50s on both sides. A bunch of others in 20s to 40s. You then see new things that where not in the game when you left. On top of all of that you start to see some of the specs are changed of course to fit the new play style of the game.

I feel like I have the attention span of a dog - Ball, Ball, Ball, Squirrel, Car, Cat...
  11. Great, thanks for the insight. Just what I wanted to hear.

If I can ask a follow up question. It might be more of matter of opinion actually, but anyways.

I have a 50 BS / Regen already. Is making a DB / WP making a comparable toon ? If you get what I am saying.

Basically would they be filling the same slot in a group or solo ? Or are they both different animals even though they are scrappers.

Again I don't know if it is six of one and half a dozen of another or apples and oranges debate I am asking.

Everything that the Dark Servant performs includes a tohit debuff component including the Twilight Grasp heal. Chill of the Night is one of the strongest debuffs in the game and shorting that enhancement leaves the Dark Servant's build lacking.

I will let someone else tackle the Voltaic Sentinel.
Was eventually going to put a stealth proc in swift.

So your saying something along the lines of Dark Watcher Despair.

    Makes sense looking back now..
  13. Just wondering if DB / WP is a decent combo. I have many toons which I have not played for over 1.5 years and don't want to mess around with toons that might be severely lacking anymore.

I have several 50s already and many toons which are themed concept. I do not want to invest time into a spec that might have been good a year ago, but now is bottom of the barrel.

When I mean good it can be either for team or solo.. Don't matter I just don't want one of those toons that is good for neither if you get what I mean.
  14. Thanks for the insight

I was trying to figure out how to get LS up 3x, but it seems expensive to do. Only way I can see it possible is through getting LOTG recharge IO. Which is a lot of money for me at this time.
  15. I have been looking back at several old threads and haven't seen much about Dark Electric builds.

I have been wondering on what some people have been slotting Voltaic Sentinel and Dark Servant with.

This is what I was considering personally myself. Not knowing too much where to go with them.

The full build listed below shows pretty much where I am going with this build. In the build listed below I did not pick a travel power as I have the that Ninja Run from the X Pac. So I went with Swift and triple slotted it. I can pick up a Jetpack in game also so traveling difficult areas I should be okay. I further done some simple timing runs and super speed is not that much faster then the Ninja Travel power when dealing with certain terrain obstacles.

I posted the full build in case someone wanted to jump in and toss around some insight on the build itself as well.

  16. Thanks for the insight

I have been playing around with the builder in an attempt to try to get 3 Lighting storms out, but I am having trouble how to incorporate Hasten into recharge time when I inspect Lighting Storm. I zeroed out the IO's in Hasten and still had the same recharge time for Lighting Storm. Anyone know how to do that ?
  17. This build is almost 2 years old, I just got back into the game. I used it a lot soloing missions, but I don't know how it stacks up by today standards. From re-looking at the build today, the best I can think of I was going for as many debuffs as I could on the mobs and I was trying to get Lighting Storm up as much as possible. I know atm I have a 10 or 15 second overlap with LS.

What am asking for now is someone with a much more current insight to give it a once or twice over and point me in a good direction.

I am not a big fan of making a team specific build thus gimping myself IF I wanted to solo. But I'm a reasonable person and would follow any logical suggestions. So I could be swayed if someone pointed out how much better a team oriented build would be with the the toon. As I do have other 50s to play around with hero side.

I know I did PvP with this toon. So I don't even know if that is where I was going with the build.

I believe at the time the chance for recharge in Lighting Storm helped LS in dropping down some extra lighting bolts or something. Again I don't recall the specifics but it was something along those lines.

    Elec/Shield/Fire

Ahh I see what you did watchfire, now I get it..

Looking back at those 2 builds I notice that princessdarkstar has a 1 second delay compared to Judge Mental 40 second delay on Hasten.
  19. Short and simple. Earth / Rad lacks the DPS. I picked up the sword temp power from Croatoa (sp) and Air Superiority just to have some sort of decent attacks. You will without a doubt if NOT in a team go nuts trying to solo Earth Rad. Once I got Rocky I slotted him up to max to get more DPS going. But again I assure you if I looked at my play time on my earth rad it would probably be almost double some other toons I play just from the deaths.

But in a group they shine.

    Elec/Shield/Fire

First off this thread is pretty much what I needed for some insight on my scrapper. But I am trying to wrap my head around some of this stuff so I need to ask some questions.

I just pulled up Mids with PrincessDarkstar build and Judge Mental build. After comparing the builds and the stats, it appeared to me that the build Judge Mental is posting seems much cheaper and is pretty close to the cap.

My question is what am I missing when comparing those 2 builds.

I do not know how to determine the recharge rate for hasten on those builds. Anyone able to point out how to figure that out. How do I know if I am close to permahasten ?

I guess I am a bit sticker shocked with the prices for those purple sets that many have posted. I just reached 50 and have about 50 million. Some of those IO's go for 100 million just for 1 of them, let alone getting 5 or 10 as listed. Which again gravitates me towards Judge Mentals build

I would imagine that is just months and months of farming on a regular basis to get that kind of money. Is there some short cut ? Or is farming the only way ?
  21. I have a 50 Mastermind, only played Ninja storm to level 10 atm. I do have a 50 Stormer.

That being said here are my odd comments.

Players who do not play storm or players that have seen others play storm in a poor way will hate many of the Storms cool powers like Hurricane, Thunder Storm and even freezing rain at times.

Regardless of how cool you play your pets, other players again will not want your pets out all the time depending on the mission, yet again especially when they had bad experiences with other Masterminds dragging aggro unexpectedly from wandering pets.

End result is during certain times you may be limited on what a group will want you to do.

Many do not want to herd into corners so you can put on hurricane to hold them in the corner while you apply freezing rain as well.

I do think that Ninja Storm as a nice synergy in which you can debuff the target for your pets and also add a layer of protection for your pets with Hurricane running.

I see Ninja Storm as the herding mobs into a corner and drop down tons of chaos from all those powers. I do see that ranged mobs will be an issue for you as many of the storm powers only work close range.
  22. Bit confused here

I logged in after resubbing and did 6 transfers I think the next day after the account was renewed. That was about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

But now I several weeks later I do not get the offer to move over any more characters.

I read it as 6 character moves each 7 days. I thought it might be I can only move the existing characters I previously moved, but that of course is not the case.

Is it just a one time deal of moving 6 characters and your done ?

    What am I misunderstanding ?
  23. Many have stated some common points.. I am just going to post reminders.

    1. Caltrops between you and the enemy. But not close enough to the enemy that you effect them. You will need to learn the range and eventually if your into IO's you will be able to drop double Caltrops for extra protection.

    2. Open up your attacks with Cones or AOE's that do not cause Knockback. Leave those powers for the end of your attack chain.

    3. When high enough and solo drop a trip mine at your feet for that extra protection and KB of mobs that come near you.

    4. You can use Ignite on yourself to get mobs away from you.

    5. Web Grenade is just not for holding, but big also has a - Recharge which is big.

    6. You do not need to slot Web Grenade or Caltrops up too high to make them effective.

    7. You should not be playing AR / Dev if your looking to be the DPS king. It's more like the Tortoise and the Hare. You are more about steady reliable DPS with powers that hardly miss.

    8. AR / Dev has many negative connotations with other players because of many of these over embellished stories of lacking any major DPS. Thus you could get asked to pick up another toon or get passed over for another spec when looking for a group. 8 out of 10 times a group would rather have my Archer EM over my AR / Dev. I always make sure I tell a group what alts I have when I am looking for a group and I am on my AR / Dev because of those issues.
  24. I just wanted to simply add that with so many different power set choices for blasters and combination's available with the secondaries you could probably pick something that is better then AR that is less resisted or a higher DPS value. But it is obvious your like the look of AR as many do.

So if I can use the word "GIMP" and I know it is a poor choice of words, but if your going to gimp your persay DPS when compared to another better blaster spec you might as well go all the way and pick up device as a secondary. Simply it is obvious that these 2 sets where created with each other in mind and the cool thematic factor is there.

Further if your going for some sort of super max DPS route it is obvious yet again that even going blaster might not be your best choice. You could be one of the zillion Electric Shield Scrappers ( which I am guilty of having ) and run +4 / +8 AE missions solo and do more then you could with any blaster probably.

So again if your gonna go AR might as well go all the way and have fun with Devices. It is really the 2 sets that every power looks something different from each other power within the set.

If you go Ice, Fire, Sonic, ETC. The effects and looks pretty much build on the lower level powers. Ice powers - Ice just get larger, Fires get bigger, Those Sonic circle effect just get larger. You get my point
  25. Title pretty much says it all

I checked the SG roster and didn't see any. So figured I would just ask.

    I'm looking Hero side btw
