DB / WP Decent combo ? Old toons looking to keep or clear

Just wondering if DB / WP is a decent combo. I have many toons which I have not played for over 1.5 years and don't want to mess around with toons that might be severely lacking anymore.

I have several 50s already and many toons which are themed concept. I do not want to invest time into a spec that might have been good a year ago, but now is bottom of the barrel.

When I mean good it can be either for team or solo.. Don't matter I just don't want one of those toons that is good for neither if you get what I mean.

DB/WP is a great combo. WP is a great end game secondary, and DB is extremely underrated, especially with a good amount of recharge.

I have the brute version of the combo, and even though she has mostly cheaper sets, she still does great in just about anything I put her up against.

The two sets came out together, and there are lots of them in existence as a result. Both sets are good on their own, and they work just fine together (though there's nothing super synergistic about them, except that WP almost never makes you redraw your swords).

Unless you're desperate for space, I wouldn't see why someone would delete a DB/WP.

Great, thanks for the insight. Just what I wanted to hear.

If I can ask a follow up question. It might be more of matter of opinion actually, but anyways.

I have a 50 BS / Regen already. Is making a DB / WP making a comparable toon ? If you get what I am saying.

Basically would they be filling the same slot in a group or solo ? Or are they both different animals even though they are scrappers.

Again I don't know if it is six of one and half a dozen of another or apples and oranges debate I am asking.

The answer is dependent on how you have your DB/WP character spec'ed. If it's spec'ed primary as a single target destroyer using blinding feint and attack vitals (even though its a cone), then yes, it becomes very similar to your BS/Regen - a hardy, single target oriented scrapper with moderate AoE. If your DB/WP character has the Sweep combo in addition to Attack Vitals then it is far superior to the BS/Regen in AoE and would act a bit differently in group settings.

Although both will probably have a similar level of capability, they're going to FEEL completely different, mostly due to the secondaries. Willpower is very fire and forget. Regeneration is about micromanaging your survivability, and takes a lot of focus when you crank up the difficulty level. Willpower, since it benefits from the number of enemies around you, might be better for team play. Similarly, Dual Blades, at least if spec'd for AoE, would also probably be better for team play. But both can solo, and both can play on teams.

Hey thanks tons again

You come back to a game almost 2 years later. You have a bunch of 50s on both sides. A bunch of others in 20s to 40s. You then see new things that where not in the game when you left. On top of all of that you start to see some of the specs are changed of course to fit the new play style of the game.

I feel like I have the attention span of a dog - Ball, Ball, Ball, Squirrel, Car, Cat...

DB/WP is a great combo!!! That was my 2nd lvl 50 toon. After a while, you become a whirling dervish of death and destruction!! Great survivablility, fantastic solo or on a team, this is a great combo!!! I wish you luck and hope you enjoy....

One other difference between BS and DB Scrappers is in the way they do damage and mitigation.

BS does big hits, but slower: ka-CHOP!

DB does lots of little hits, fast: choppity-choppity-sword-to-the-Face!

BS has build-up and mitigates through big damage numbers and -Def in every attack, plus +Def in Parry.

DB's 'build-up' is smaller, but can be stacked (and/or chained), and the mitgation is in the Combos, plus it has no +Def power.

So, with BS/Regen, you have to pay attention and manage your defenses, while DB/Will means you're paying attention and managing your attack-chain(s) and mitigation/special-effect combos.

Be Well!
