Old build where do I go with it ? Storm Rad

This build is almost 2 years old, I just got back into the game. I used it a lot soloing missions, but I don't know how it stacks up by today standards. From re-looking at the build today, the best I can think of I was going for as many debuffs as I could on the mobs and I was trying to get Lighting Storm up as much as possible. I know atm I have a 10 or 15 second overlap with LS.

What am asking for now is someone with a much more current insight to give it a once or twice over and point me in a good direction.

I am not a big fan of making a team specific build thus gimping myself IF I wanted to solo. But I'm a reasonable person and would follow any logical suggestions. So I could be swayed if someone pointed out how much better a team oriented build would be with the the toon. As I do have other 50s to play around with hero side.

I know I did PvP with this toon. So I don't even know if that is where I was going with the build.

I believe at the time the chance for recharge in Lighting Storm helped LS in dropping down some extra lighting bolts or something. Again I don't recall the specifics but it was something along those lines.

The Storm/Rad build as you can see from my first 50 is a viable build. Today we are no long limited to team or to solo, we can have both. We can change builds about once per mission at a trainer if we choose. Tweak out your favorite build and go generic IO or SO with your second choice.

The choices I would make is to have Freezing Rain up as fast as possible, up to 3 lightning storms at one time, and either more ranged defense or increased regeneration to enable enduring more damage potential in battle.

Specifically, snowstorm may be overslotted. Two SO/IO units of end reduction and one of slow usually max out its capability. Steamy mist is better suited to resistance slotting. Heat, Cold, and energy types of damage are common enough to boost steamy's resistance over the relatively small boost in defense. Freezing Rain is very under-slotted for recharge. I want that power up and I mean NOW. Slot for slows or defense debuff to taste. Tornado could use another slot of pure recharge. I tend to find more situations for my tornado than some do. It also appears to me that in the last couple years, tornado's aggressive aggro-beast style has been tempered a bit. Forcefeedback +recharge no longer boosts the recharge of lightning bolt blasts, you can replace it or delete that slot from lightning storm.

You took medicine and flight, and I cannot fault you for that. I took the Mighty Storm's suggestion for maximum mobility and I use teleport for combat movement on my current storm creations. You can tp into position and fire off gale or hurricane before the assembly of foes knows what hit them. It definitely gives you the jump on positioning. You might consider the Electric mastery in comparison to the Power mastery.

Thanks for the insight

I have been playing around with the builder in an attempt to try to get 3 Lighting storms out, but I am having trouble how to incorporate Hasten into recharge time when I inspect Lighting Storm. I zeroed out the IO's in Hasten and still had the same recharge time for Lighting Storm. Anyone know how to do that ?

The green sphere next to powers determines whether it's on or not. In the build I put up, lightning storm has a recharge time of 45.8s when hasten is off and 33.8s when it's on. Mids isn't capable of determining average recharge time based on how often hasten is capable of being on if that's what you're looking for.

Thanks for the insight

I was trying to figure out how to get LS up 3x, but it seems expensive to do. Only way I can see it possible is through getting LOTG recharge IO. Which is a lot of money for me at this time.

Although LS x3 might be possible without Purple IOs and lots of LOTG, the slotting to achieve such would be so horrendous it wouldn't be worth the sacrifice. LS x3 is something to build towards rather than something to achieve right now.

I agree with all of Psylenz's suggestions which Garent's build incorporates.

Because Storm is so endurance heavy if you were to "upgrade" the relatively low cost build that Garent posted I would start by investing in additional endurance through the Numina, and Miracle uniques, and the Performance Shifter +endurance Proc.

As Psylenz said, the force feedback proc will no longer have any effect (in fact nothing will) on how often LS fires. In issue 14 all pets and pseudopets were made immune to +recharge changes, so although the proc will fire, it will have no effect. It used to be that the proc would enhance LS's recharge and since each bolt can hit up to 5 targets, there was a decent chance of the proc going off thereby reducing the 5 second recharge on LS's bolts allowing them to fire more frequently. Now, the only effect you will see from the proc is a chance for the +recharge to be applied to you at the time that you use LS, which is not up frequently enough to justify the proc.
