I've never gotten a Stalker to 50, so I have little clue! Any help making her not too wussy would be great.
I'd like her to be usable for normal teamings and soloing, but also not that bad in melee duels in PvP (mostly against other casual PvPers).
- At the moment, Stealth and Hide are adding 2.17% defence each when I'm not hidden, right?
- Budget isn't unlimited, but I can still afford a few nice things.
- Some more HP, recharge, AoE defence and Knockback Protection would be nice, or whatever else you think she needs.
- Her endurance management is also pretty rubbish.
- None of the power choices are set.
Cheers!

For the "blasts from the nose/forehead" and "doesn't match other themes" things, I recoloured mine to be red eye blast things and used the cycloptic robot mask thing.
I wanted an eyeblast set, and I think Sonic looked a bit better than Psi. -
I got what I was after!
Cheers very much event making people! Was much funs! -
Wow guys, thanks!
Some really nifty looking builds there.
Looks like I'm definitely gonna have a bane for an alt build. Maybe PvP focused one for casual PvPs.
Quote:Hee. I've been marketeering a bit and scraped about a 150mil since posting this thread, but it's not my favouritest hobby ever.forget scrimping and saving on your build, just make so much inf price is irrelevant.
Ask the Market Forum how! -
It will work fine in a passive, and will provide a constant bonus. It isn't a proc that needs a power to trigger it, but a global unique enhancement. This means you don't even need access to the power it's slotted in for it to work.
I'd recommend putting it in Health. -
Aw, really? My goal here was locking down mobs and laying on the -resistance and damage while providing some passive team buffs. Mostly I'll be staying out of melee (only nipping in to use Shatter Armour on bosses and the like who've already been taunted), so I don't expect to need much Melee and AoE defence.
devil dingo, where am I going wrong, 'cos our power choices seem pretty similar though?
So yeah, I like your build (very cheap, awesome!), but it seems really tight on endurance (even after turning off ninja run and sprint)?
Cheers! -
I've got an IOd out WP/EM tanker, and I have absolutely no problem with Energy Transfer. I wouldn't mind if it did a little more damage (more than willing to sacrifice a little more health for it too), but it's fine.
What I do begrudge is having Total Focus. If they added some splash damage to it (say, just the energy component of the ST damage, 7 feet radius), that'd mean I could use it in PvE. -
Any help improving this build is much appreciated of course, but I'm also interested in throwing together a much cheaper build I can use while levelling and once I hit 50 (my dude is only level 20 at the moment, and I really don't have the billions required for this anyway).
I like supporting a team without skimping too much on the firepower.
Cheers for any help!

You take Rhodey out of the armour, he's not a hero. He's just a soldier. So he's tech.
You put an Arachnos Soldier in armour, he's not a hero either, he's still just a minion. But he's still natural! :P
And in City of, psionics users can be natural too. Mutants have only been around since the first nuclear tests, but psionics have been around for much longer (or so Sister Psyche says, meaning the Cimeroran Sybils, I'd guess). -
RPing, and all that entails (character creation is more involved, designing lots more cossies for various RP purposes, etc).
lolPvP.
Flying around pretty places, like Eden and Ouroboros.
Ninja Run parkour around Steel Canyon (get to a destination, but don't stop, don't run more than two steps in a row, don't turn in the air, don't touch the ground and try not to double back or jump on unrealistic geometry (small window-ledges mostly)).
Helping n00bs. -
1. I think first person camera is very much a minority taste. I usually zoom out as far as the map allows to keep track of baddies. I only zoom in to marvel my character doing cool things
2. How much am I immersed? Depends on the character, I think. I can't say I worry about it. I definitely notice differences in my play behaviour dependent on character though, even during OOC (out-of-character) play: Like, on reckless characters I tend to play (even more) recklessly. But I certainly don't try (and in that case, I try not to).

Quote:Alphaea waited patiently until her erstwhile student was finished scrounging in the dirt and exchanging inconsequential banter, but inwardly she was furious."Screw that!" Came Hailey's blunt response as she swiftly pocketed the dead man's wallet "I ain't here t'call amb'lances. We're outta here" She concluded, shifting her focus back to her teacher to whom she offered the hand she'd offered to Soapbox just moments ago. The porter was still good to cover two people and there was nothing more for either of them here.
On a day that was supposed to be about restoring faith in humanity, the metahuman brawling and posturing no doubt continued inside while innocents were, at best, left to fend for themselves.
Well, she thought, not quite innocent perhaps. But that was only another tragedy. But perhaps, another opportunity? Certainly far too much talent to waste on drugs and purposeless crime.
She accepted Hailey's offer with a curt nod.
"Thank you" -
Seeing that Hailey had finally been left alone, Alphaea deactivated her cloaking device and stepped from the shadows of the alleyway and called out to reassure the violent and troubled teen before approaching.
"Skipping class, madam?"
Like Hailey, she wore a Humanity First logo on plain black clothes, but unlike Hailey's, hers were immaculate despite the carnage that had happened. Alphaea might sympathise with HF's ideals, but she certainly wasn't prepared to get involved in some random metahuman brawl with uncertain goals.
A pity, she thought, that Hailey didn't have the common sense to do likewise. Still, it was a magnificent first strike against the monster.
She smiled thinly. "Shall we leave while we can, miss, or do you want to wait for Britanic's autograph?" -
My experience is similar to Live Wyre's. I have a human form Peacebringer at 40, and it's not looking great. Even worse, my best complete builds in Mids aren't looking much better. I'm having to slot for Endurance really heavily (impervium armours) and the attacks are still gonna drain my bar dry in short order. Conserve power seems like a must.
I will say that photon seekers and dawn strike have helped survivability (from the knockback) and damage considerably, but the big radial knockback is a problem on teams. Maybe I should be starting to rely on my (lame damage) ranged attacks instead? I dunno.
Would folk recommend pulsar even in a 50 Human only build btw?
Any help appreciated.
Cheers! -
Blasters. But I kinda think I probably shouldn't like them so much, cos being all crazy hitty is easy, and I find looking after my team hard.
I've started to play Controllers more. But I'm like, 'where are my attacks at?' -
Sorry, don't have time to check out your build properly right now. But at a glance I'd say your main AoEs are underenhanced with just Eradicates in there and you don't have nearly enough spare endurance to run an attack chain.
Here's my own Warmace/Shield build, for what it's worth.

I like Energy blasters.
I've had more complaints about my Shockwave-happy Claws scrapper to be honest. Energy blast knockback is more controllable, I think. -
Yup. MoG benefits from recharge lots and lots (since it's now a special crashless short-duration godmode).
-
Um... Cheers guys! Lots of helpful advice/arguing in there.
Although most of us had Shivans and Nukes (always handy to have anyway), we had to use those on Ghost Widow. Hadn't bothered to buy Insps, but that seems doable.
Quote:Here's my tanker's build. As far as the OP's question, why not show your build you might get some tips that can help for round two, since WP can definitely tank LR. -
What kind of Tanker do you need for the end fight on Statesman's Task Force? Is it granite or bust?
A group of us tried it for the first time, and I was on a fairly IOd out WP Tanker and I had a pet Defender, and spider-face was still two or three shotting me. I couldn't last long enough for the rest of my team to down the towers.
Halp plox!
Cheers! -
Quote:Starjet started to speak but her response trailed off into a grin. Her face splitting into a dazzling grin she nudged Starjet "I'll be right back, we can chat about power displays in a sec" She promised.
Without waiting for a response, she blinked out of existance, reappearing beside Will.
With a bemused shake of her head, she continues 'patroling' the hall, smiling, posing and chatting to the attendees. -

It's a great idea. I imagine in my naivety that the animations can largely be recycled from other powers too. If the code can possibly be done, I'd definitely go for it (perhaps three mechanically identical powersets, only one of which is available at a time at char creation, depending what other set is chosen?). -
Quote:Starjet shook her head and grinned wryly. "Have it your way, D. But, doing something silly and dangerous is hardly a unique trait amongst us, and neither is having dangerous powers" And she points towards Fusionette across the hall, who was cheerfully posing for a photo beside a Positron-alike.Irradiant gave a bright little giggle at Starjet's mock-grimace "I wonder if anyone's here cosplaying as you?" She remarked lightly in a teasing, but friendly tone. "Maybe they'll dance too!"
"Uhh.." she started uncertainly as the subject of the power display, her tail curling a little at the tip "I really don't think I'm 'big' enough yet to be a draw, besides despite there being a lot of metafans about, I think there's a lot of people who wouldn't understand my powers too.. even with time to explain I think there'd likely be a little panic at the word 'radiation' ... especially as I kinda, sorta, maybe triggered a mutation in my sister a few years back. That's resolved but better safe than sorry and all of that. Besides, this way I have more timke for my table and to maybe find Will"
But then her eyes twinkle mischeviously "Besides, I thought you wanted to show people how much more effective a duo can be?" -
Quote:"Hello, D" Starjet replied warmly as she located the familiar voice that suddenly appeared beside her."Hey!" The excitable girl chirped up at the much taller member of the Nuclear 90 "Having fun?"
"It's certainly interesting" and she nodded her head towards 'Manticore' and 'Sister Psyche' dancing enthusiastically on the stage and then mock-grimaced at Irradiant.
"They certainly have more courage than I do... Speaking of which, are you in the power display later?" -
Starjet held a fixed smile in place as she mingled with the crowd in the hall. So far so good, she thought. There had only been a couple of incidents at the signing booth earlier, and now she was free to wander.
A baby, an adorable thing that she had very little idea what to do with, had moved on from hair-pulling to eye-gouging and her parents had snatched her away quickly, causing a minor commotion. They'd feared she would get burned or something, one of the con staff said, and Starjet supposed she couldn't blame them. Glowing eyes might mean anything.
But what she did regret was not being able to spend more time actually talking to people. There was one guy in particular, a Canuck like herself, and an army veteran who'd travelled down just for the con. He'd come as Nemesis, of all things, and decked his wheelchair with faux steam-tech. But while they were chatting happily, a group of gaudily dressed frat-boys next in the queue were getting restless (why were they dressed as neon-coloured Japanese school girls anyway?). She'd promised to try and find him later, but there was no luck so far.
-------
Meanwhile, amongst a queue of excited fans the girl who liked to call herself the Totally Awesome Overreactor was feeling less than totally awesome. She'd tried to wander around in her super-cheerleader uniform, but although she got attention, most people thought she was trying, badly, to look like some other TV super-cheerleader. That whiny regener with daddy issues. Ugh! As if!
So she faked a call to her fictional agent and made a quick exit, and returned as plain old Patricia Page. She could see Sara 'Shutterbug' darting around and snapping pics for Kapow, and she guessed that she should probably talk to some people too. Maybe collar a few quick interviews for a fluffy report piece. But... She couldn't be bothered. No matter what she told herself, she was always happier when she was just a metafan, so, she thought, that's what I'm gonna be for the day. No pretending.
