    Overall, nice work.
The idea behind it is that it is a converted warehouse. I've been learning a lot just looking at all the great bases posted here.
  3. Im working on one right now, but looking instead at Psionic Mastery for the epic Power Pool, so far she has been a lot of fun to play
  4. what did you use to make the steps in the entrance?

    T.E.C.H. Base

This is my first attempt at a non sewer, non standard base, pretty happy with the results, granted its only 3 rooms at the moment, but I like em small and usable...

but havnt they had extensive input already? list after list of things that need to be fixed, things we would like added, new items, new textures, new ideas, honestly if they don't know what we want by now then what is more extensive input going to do?

Im quite happy that anything is being done, and more concerned about our hopes being built up only to be dashed upon the rocks.
  7. I keep hearing this term thrown about by the devs, which means the easy stuff/stuff already made. Can we compile a list of low hanging fruit that can be added to the list of things to add to the bases?

There are a lot of items that (I think) would be very simple to add:

more crates, as found in warehouses
more non-opening doors, as found in every building
more misc furnishings, as found in AE and Missions as glowies (ie weapon rack, crates, wall safe)
more sewer bits, like small valve wheels, and pipes.

All of this is minor stuff, but would open up a plethora of possibilities.

EDIT and if I would have looked at the stickied thread I would have noticed this has been asked for since before i13... Im sorry to have brought it back up

Ding Ding Ding! we have a winner...

As it stands now, you have to get a bunch of people together to form a SG before you can even think about building a base, and if you are a part of an established base, there is very little incentive to form your own SG to actually build your own base.

seriously, I have all sorts of ideas, but I wont be seeing most of them come to frutiton becasue of the lack of prestige needed.

by opening it up to everyone, it will add value to the entire game.

depends... Me, my wife and three friends just got CoH 3 months ago... So it's ALL new to us, some looks fantastic, others look dated. so is the goal to keep the veterans happy or to draw in new blood. to be honest, I almost didn't go any farther than the tutorial when I did the 14 day free trial...
  10. ok, its been 2 weeks, and 40 views, but no (outside) plays (so obviously no feedback). I would really like some outside eyes to look at this.

    Going once...
As much as I would love to take you up on your offer, I simply have not made enough cash in my short period in the game to waste your time. I don't even have 10 mil in the bank yet (And I just now started playing on the market, so someday that will change)
  12. probably late to the game on this, but how about something between tech and arcane... maybe steampunk? sewers look funny with really shiny tech stuff in them, maybe even convert some of the sewer pieces into control/power/workshop items

Also, the Auto-Doc requires that you have earned it. And it costs prestige AND it requires continous Control and Energy. Once crafted, it will appear in your Personal Items, not in the base editor. Warning, Personal Items, once placed, can only ever be moved, if you delete the item, you will have to re-craft it. The Invention Salvage it requires to make it will not be returned. Wanted to give you a heads up about that since I learned the hard way.

    Happy Crafting,

ok, so to be clear... I craft the auto doc, it goes into personal items to be placed, I resell the worktable and then place the autodoc where I want it (permanently)... if so... perfect!
  14. Do you need the basic worktable before you get the advanced one?

reason for asking is the only thing (ATM) I want to craft is an auto doc, but to do so would require something bigger than the combo unit can handle.

this is a small base used mostly for storage, but the autodoc would be a nice addition.
  15. Triumph: Heroes, part of a long established group
Guardian: Villains, started a new SV group there
Freedom: random stuff, don't play there often
  16. nytflyr

    best order...

So Im building a new base, with a brand new SV group... whats the best stuff to have and in what order? Im looking primarily at storage first and transport second since most of us are around the same level (less than level 15 ATM)

what we currently have is a narrow workroom with a shelf and a crafting table.
  17. Snakes in the Grass
    Arc ID: 454126
    Length: Very Long (4 missions)
    Morality: Heroic
While working on a story in the Rogue Isles, Amanda Vines was handed some information concerning a plot by the Snakes. Fearing for her life, she has locked herself inside of her office. She is currently waiting for you to come for the information and to take her to safety.

This is my second published story, I still need to do some minor tweaking to the fist one though. this one I believe is ready for some test runs.

The easiest way of weeding out old arcs is (if they have the ability to track such a thing) when was the last time the arc was accessed and when was it created...

anything over a year old that hasn't been accessed in 6 months should be unpublished (not deleted). If the author cared, he can easily republish it. reupping the rotation

that's the way it was laid out to me, I said, I'm missing a large chunk of the time, they said doesn't matter the debuff is still going into effect.

What I said was if I miss the target, I know that the power is an TAoE, so if
a team member is outside of the AoE they wont get healed even if I hit the target.

The Team leader said spam the target with Transfusion because even if it misses he still gets debuffed. The team leader was in toe-to-toe combat, so the thought of her being outside of the AoE didn't even cross my mind
  21. I see in the rating system at the end of a mission that one of the options is "complex mechanic" or something like that. is that just a perception thing on the part of the player, because without scripting, I cant see how any of the MA stuff can be considered "complex".

on a related note, is there an option to "find a key" in the MA?
  22. Here is the biggest problem I see with bases...

I am in a SG, the leader of that group has a very nice base, all of my toons are now a member of that SG and all the prestige I earn goes to the improvement of that base. There are at least 10 other players doing the same thing in that group (May be more, but these are the ones I run with).

so out of 12+ players, only one really owns the base. I would like to build a base, but the benefits of the current base far outweigh the prospect of building my own from scratch, in fact it would be down right stupid to do something like that.

so I have started building a base on the Red side, which I rarely play, that group will have a minimum of 5 confirmed players.

so there really is a small portion of players that do things other than just use a base. if there was a way to add personal space, then that would open up a whole box of goodies...

someone upstream mentioned concerning personal spaces as to "how do you find your room?" make one generic door that says private keep out, or an elevator door that opens up to your room, just like with the portal to get to the base in the first place.

how far I get with my red side base depends on how much time the other 5 will spend on the red side away from the well equipped base on the blue side.

anyway that's my .02 worth from a relative newbie to the game
  23. As someone who published their first arc yesterday I can see a few things I would like to see.

    1) environmental damage, I would like destroying certain objects, like explosives to actually do damage.

    2) I really dislike the way the story arcs "join" together. Its probably not possible, but instead of leaving the mission, going back into AE for the next part I would rather be "teleported" to the front door of the next mission, or like some linked stories now have a blank city to run through to get to the next arc (like a train mission or bank job)

    3) along the same front, being able to go from an outdoor map to an indoor map (again, like a bank job)

    4) better control of the placement of objects...
  24. Last night I was told by a veteran player to spam the target with transfusion because even if I miss (which I was about 40% of the time) the target was still being debuffed. is this correct?
  25. nytflyr

    Team quit rant

Ive quit one mission, because the person leading it was an idiot, wasnt listening to our concerns... I racked up so much debt that I was knocked back a couple of levels

needless to say a bunch of us bailed about 1/2 way through. I dont mind hard, unless it is being inflicted on me by another player.
