  1. This is my Fire/kin that went through many revisions to Min/max this build as much as I could for survivability with as much recharge as possible. It's softcap to smash/lethal/range, has capped HP with perma-earth's embrace, and perma-hasten with one siphon speed. Since this build matured at level 50, I min-maxed around the vigor core paragon alpha. If I exemped more it would probably switch the slotting of earth's embrace and transfusion. No accuracy is slotted in a few powers because the build already has 90+ accuracy from the alpha and set bonuses. There are a few things I could still tweak such as changing some LOTG's to hammi-o's but I think I tweaked this build enough.

I used Clarion for my destiny for perma mez protection. All together, this build is one of my most durable squishy characters with a strong mix of passive and active defense with decent damage.

    Enjoy.

    i24 Fire/Time

To me the correct way to slot farsight is 3 membranes and an LOTG. At level 50, powerboosted values are 22.22% defense and 23.47% to-hit (enough for perma-snipe by itself). Most people don't correctly calculate the defense in Mids because they leave powerboost toggled on. You can't rely on that because it boosts the defense of all defense powers but that's only for 15 seconds and mids only gives you the value for that period. With the 3 membranes and LOTG farsight slotting, you can try to focus getting defenses to 22.78% to softcap.

Here is my current I-24-ready build on live. I took power mastery because fire/time is end intensive and it allows me to take conserve power so I can activate powers non-stop. This also allows me to take muscalature for my alpha which is a more consistent damage buff than soul drain. I can also avoid the journey to redside to get Soul Mastery.

The last things on this build is that it is slightly over the 45% softcap for range/melee/aoe. With a small purple inspiration, you will incarnate softcap. Also this build has perma-chrono-shift.

  3. Here is the build I have on live. I went redside to pick up Mace Mastery. All the considerations in this build was with the tier 4 spiritual alpha slot in mind. This is a semi-expensive build with no PVP IO's and one (cheapish) purple set. You can stick in a whole Ragnarok and Apocalypse set but the gains were marginal for a lot of expense. The main advantages of this build is that it has permahasten as well as being softcapped to range (45%), smash/lethal (50%), and energy (55%). The softcap for the incarnate trials is around 59% so you'll easily dodge much of the very abundant energy damage. Heat loss is 6 seconds from perma and benumb is 2 seconds from perma, but I found both adequate enough. After IO'ing out this character, I went from being the squishy that face-plants the quickest on a team to being more survivable than a a lot of scrappers. If you want to be even more survivable, you can move around some slots to put resistance into Arctic Fog and Tough.

  4. To get an idea of the defense you can build with Earth/Storm and not gimp yourself, I'm posting my build. I totally revamped my build for I20 end game content and went for survivability instead recharge and trying to maximize my (weakish) damage. It is softcapped S/L and ranged as well as having 41% energy defense and 88% recharge. I actually took most of my purples out of my I20 build except for ragnarok but you can sub in posi's instead. You can sub in any APP and be at ranged soft capped. If you put in mace mastery, you'll be about 55% energy defense and that greatly helps with all the energy blasts flying around in the trials. I don't like thunderclap or snowstorm so never take those. If you really want status protection (I don't find it too much of a problem with this much defense) you can grind for a T4 Clarion incarnate shield which will be just about perma protection. I used cardiac for my alpha slot.

  5. Tweaking this is much easier than you think. You're missing a big Range defense bonus in the 2 stupefy sets. Take the 2 slots out of Manuevers and combat jumping and 6 slot stupefy in thunderclap and stalagmites. You will gain about 6% range defense and will be above range softcap.
  6. Although seeds is good by itself, I think Vines and Creepers in adddition help elevate the set to top tier. However, seeds really does make set.

Seeds is merely just "good" when you level up. It can later become godly with good slotting. If you can get your recharge to perma-dom levels, many situations turn from "you own me" to "I own joo". Those Nemesis that laughed at you without domination become your b****. If you slot the purple confuse set with the proc (one of the cheaper purple sets) , you will have a very good chance of hitting all of a group even if you miss some because of contagious confusion. Range slotting will help you hit more enemies and avoid any return fire. Lastly, if you slot the cardiac alpha slot with the range attribute, seeds has even a bigger AOE.

    In summary

seeds + permadom + purple set + range io + cardiac alpha slot(with range) = sick nasty
  7. I'm debating whether to add back the Kismet to hit buff IO back into my build but I would need to respec again to fit a slot into a defense power. I have kinetics and have no source of to hit buffs or defense debuffs. My SG usually runs at +4 and many times we don't always have a debuffer or someone with leadership and I seem to be missing alot. My aoe controls are slotted about 60 accuracy in the power and I have a 63% global acc bufff. After I'm fully IO'ed, I'll have 24% additional accuracy buff. Is it worth waiting until I'm fully IO'ed or should I respec anyway for the Kismet. Any of you forum gurus have any advice?

I'll post the build I use when farming. It is fairly cheap. I think I made mine on 150 million. Maybe only 100 million.

I gotta say this is an awesome build. It's amazingly cheap and effective and it has SB and ID for teaming. I made a few small tweaks like 6 slotting hotfeat and putting in some more expensive sets. Capping smashing/lethal alone greatly enhanced my effectiveness. If you strip out the rare IO sets and just focus on getting the smash/lethal bonuses, you could easily be under 50 million if you want to be really cheap.

The only downside to this build is that it doesn't have Cinders for a more balanced team build, but finding a way to fit that in would greatly increase the cost of the build for a similar level of performance.
  9. I took Aid Self along with Stimulant on my Earth/Storm/Fire. I've tried about dozen different builds on test server and on live and it's a power that I would miss if it was dropped. The only power that I really wanted but had to drop was quicksand (if only we could skip gale. It won't save you if you are taking many fast hits in succession but with an interrupt reduction IO, you should be able to heal in many combat situations if you're smart about it.

I like to play very aggressively and that means taking more hits. The power is situational but it's nice to not have to rely on others for heals or micro-manage your inspirations. I usually have 1 or 2 greens and blues and the rest filled with breakfrees. Not relying on inspirations will be a bigger factor when running higher difficulties or on long TF's.

With Stimulant and O2 boost, you can also be a ghetto emp. On a high recharge build, O2 boost is pretty spammable providing a semi-decent heal. Unmezzing other support characters can help prevent a team wipe in those tough missions. If I also see a random squishie get mezzed out in the zones, I'll give them Stimulant as a nice gesture.

I've built my character to be very versatile: a superior crowd controller, moderate damage dealer, and ghetto emp. Choosing Aid Self just boils down to your play style, what APP you choose, and deciding what powers you can do without.

Wow that's crazines. I'm alot less excited about issue 4 now.
  11. I don't know but for me issue 3 seemed a lot less exciting than issue 2. Having SSOCS delayed yet again makes me lose more faith. Oh well....
