Oh forgot to add Illu/emps are prolly better than emps.
-
[ QUOTE ]
night was talking about support pvp builds so i wud agree that secondary doesnt matter that much, dont no about sonic but with empathy and kinetics in support roles (as kinetics can be used as an attacking role as well) there is so much to do u really dont have time to attack
[/ QUOTE ]
Sonics add more mez protection than emps. They also have nice res debuff and buffs. Plus sonic cage (which can remove that ill tempered ice/nrg blaster or really annoying stormy) -
In a instant base raid where we killed a dude using brawl only. Imagine 12 people chasing the same guy and just using brawl. He went down faster than I thought even though he ran like a faster than the wizard Rincewind.
-
I do agree about /nrg being a contender, but then again so is dark. Invu suffers untill unstop.
Stone is for people who care more about dying than actually winning. Granite is an effective way of removing your self from the fight, and stone is subpar outside granite.
Stormies? You're fighting a pvp build with a non PvP AT. Need I say more. Well actually stormies need suppport and are easily fought if they dont have it... just not by brutes. -
I would prolly take a stone/fire brute to PvP. Slightly better attack chain than nrg, and fire for the extra BU since you dont have fury.
But hey I prolly wouldnt even bring a brute to PvP. Too low damage IMO. -
The 3 best support builds for PvP are sonic, emp and kin. The secondary doesnt matter much.
-
Scrappers, tanks, brutes and some defenders/corrs have/give mez protection to the hold part. Its not any different than a regular hold, except that its autohit.
-
1 bf's for the hold part.
4 bf's for the repel part. -

And would you describe yourself as an average Scrapper?I've not seen you in action, but my impression is that you would appear to be playing towards the top end of the bell-curve, which is hardly fair basis for analysis of a situation that is more geared towards improving the situation for people within the middle and lower reaches.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh look another balance problem, who do you balance the game for? the top or the casual player?. Toggle droppers are balanced if the top PvPers fight, it isnt for the casual. -
[ QUOTE ]
I've been 2 shotted by a lot more blasters than I have scrappers. So I completely disagree with your post.
[/ QUOTE ]
Again this is in Sirens. CoH isnt balanced for Sirens. People really should start fighting in Warburg. It has much better balance between AT's
Edit: I have 2 shotted lots of things. I can do it in more easily in Warburg than blasters. -
Syn. Scrappers have a higher sustained dps than blasters. The endurance is much higher on blasters. If you want to beat the [censored] out of tough single target you're better of rolling a scrapper. Almost the same damage, better endurance and defences!
Blasters only have higher (not much) frontload damage which by no means is enough to balance the AT with a scrapper.
Scrappers even have a higher frontload damage with criticals.
Did someone say range? Lets just face it, you dont get kills at range unless you are a spines/* scrapper.
Yes, a blapper can remove all my toggles in less than 10 secs. Captain Freon can even do it in less than 5 secs.
I still beat the [censored] out of him in the arena and hes one of the best on defiant.
Hell I even tried against Gatlin with the same result.
Up close Im just as bad as a blaster (post 32 that is).
Soz for ruining your post with this OT subject. -

Hmmm, i used to think web grenade in the devices secondary was nigh on useless... That was until i started pvping... Slap 2 accuracys on the bugger and one immob duration and you can bounce past flyers and take them down
[/ QUOTE ]
The -recharge is pretty good for PvP. More use w00t!!1 -
On Union, or on all the EU servers? If its the latter, its prolly one of the french.
-
Toggle dropping is what makes the blaster AT viable in PvP if they loose it in any extend, they will be outshined by scrappers. There will be no reason to roll a blaster instead of a scrapper.
If they tone down toggle dropping blasters will need compensation in other areas. More damage is not a solution it will just ruin the game for squishies.
I would like to ask why toggle dropping is overpowered as it is now? A good scrapper can easily fight with cookie cut blasters as it is now, and tanks can still tank with Hp.
The real problem is probally that blasters mature faster for PVP and are therefor overpowered in zones like sirens. Just like stalkers can be in the same zones. -

I'm there i also challenge all of HU, in seperate duels to fight my controller exemped to level 37, All matches rated, if you win you get 1mill inf
[/ QUOTE ]
Can I fight you PN? Im looking for some quick inf since perma running in SG-mode is draining my funds. -
Im prolly with Chi on this one. Thunderclap isnt that good. Sure it can toggle drop, but so can lightning storm. And I actually think Lightning storm is the better knocker of the 2 powers. Lightning storm has 50% for each blast (and it has 12 blasts Iirc). I cant remember how good thunder clap is. I think its 100% chance for first + some chance for additional toggles.
And its not that good in PvE. With my fire/storm troller, I keept trying to get flashfire and thunder clap to work together so I could hold the bosses too. It actually didnt work very well cause the animation time is far too long. I would get smacked down before thunderclap fired.
Sure it would help if I actually bother to get the epic shield. It uses too much endurance and I hate the fire sound (fire mastery cause of concept).
There is also a different matter. In the old days (not so long ago), it was autohit. Now I have to use 2 more slots on it (2 acc). 4-6 slottting something of minimal use isnt really me.
Next problem is actually using the power with hurricane on. Everytime I try to, the mobs are out of range before they are held unless I push them to a corner.
Oh, and there is a last issue too. I cant tell how big the range is. It seems smaller than flashfire which makes stacking harder. -
Bloody hell yes its worth the bother. That way I can see some team pvp action with my SG. I dont care about having a big base, I just wanna have fun. Raiding will be fun (I think). Besides we can prolly get the lost inf back within a week or two.
First thing the PD's will do after the trial opens again is to get a IoP. -
Love new CAK, hate the lowered TK, so I got CAK instead of TK.
I have SK, CAK, CK and EK (Focus chi too) from the primary. I dont have dragons tail cause I PvP a lot and dont really use him in PvE.
I really like i6. Its actually strange, I didnt feel damage nerf cause CAK, EK and CK got such a big boost. I dont have a chain before EK (no chain in Sirens), but I survive cause hasten is more up than down. -

1) Controllers do not have dark miasma, which is probably one of the better Defender sets.
[/ QUOTE ]
Dark miasma is prolly underpowered in PvP. It simply lacks dynamics. Its a fortifying set, and that tactic cant be used at the highest lvl of PvP.
[ QUOTE ]
2) Controllers secondaries are around 75% as effective as Defender primaries
[/ QUOTE ]
83% on average Iirc. Some powers even work better (slows (Controllers AT modifier for Slows is higher than Defenders), stuns.. trollery stuff)
[ QUOTE ]
3) Defenders can fit more of their primaries into a build, whereas controllers have to work with their primaries as well as their secondaries
[/ QUOTE ]
Matter of choice really.
[ QUOTE ]
4) Controllers have more than one thing to concentrate on if they're buffing/debuffing AND controlling. Defenders do not.
[/ QUOTE ]
Trollers can play support too with an hold once in a while. Playstyle only.
[ QUOTE ]
Yes, a controller is probably hte most overpowered 1vs1, but I wouldn't discount Defenders simply because Controllers have the same sets.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nor would I discount defenders. I would just say they arent uber, like trollers. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'll do it with my PvE toon. I aint afraid of no troller
On 3 provisions;
No insps or travel powers and lvl set to 45.
10 minute bout, unlimited falls and no submissions.
[/ QUOTE ]
He will just hurt you more. Hes got fast unsuppresed movement (you prolly dont). He isnt rooted while attacking. He can slow you. all in all you wont get close without a travelpower.
Go ahead. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Well I sure as hell wouldnt fight him, he is very very good.
[edit]Wait its a challenge, but Im sure Im gonna loose.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah but it is all rock/paper/scissors. You can be the best rock in the world but paper will beat you.
[/ QUOTE ]
I dare you to beat Nad troller, or find the "paper". -
[ QUOTE ]
I know my Blaster's only at level 16 at the moment, but I have never seen my Defiance bar at more than ~10% no matter how much of a beating I'm currently taking!
[/ QUOTE ]
I have had full defiance (100%) twice at 0,1 hp left from fighting.
But you can get it, if you fly to the top of the map and fall down a couple of times.
