Here since beta, wish you all the best of luck. Have had an amazing time and spent far too many hours in CoH, but am better for it.
-
Yep, never another dime from me NCSoft. Just glad I didn't get GW2 yet, my love for CoH led me to at least try all your other games and at times spend money on them. Seeing NCSoft on any game from now on means I will NOT touch it.
-
Yep, no GW2 for me. Or any other game by NCSoft. And if Cryptic/PW had anything to do with this, then they get the boycott from me too. (though that is a bit of a shallow threat as I don't like their games anyways!). NCSoft, hope this decision bites you right in the butt and soon.

Makes you wonder if he knew... why would he even consider hanging Randall? Maybe act all surprised when Randall comes back as a way of letting the group know?

I'm guessing frost giants are the baddies, with some new technology Loki gets access to. You don't need to explain frost giants much, as Loki is half frost-giant and they were introduced in Thor. Any other bad guy would need to be introduced, spending more time on that in a movie already crowded with characters to give screen time. Loki has gone to his roots, and now the frost giants are willing to invade earth behind him. Done.

Quote:Plus, if we trust Shane he implies things went to heck real fast. He mentioned a few crazy news stories and then it just went downhill. The zombies wouldn't even have to do it, once general panic sets in and our food distribution network is disrupted we're in a world of hurt. You also have to figure that the people who are first responding (police, medics, doctors, hospital staff...) are most likely some of the first to die from the attacks. I'm wiling to bet the four to six weeks before Rick woke up were not filled with orderly messages from the government on what was going on and why. Everyone on TV would be spouting off on this, experts would be paraded out to give their views... and good lord the internet. Look at what crazy nonsense people believe NOW just from the internet, with zombies coming back the rumors and stories would be insane. With this group on the run, and no group trusting other groups, I find it plausible that they wouldn't have made this connection till they stopped and were able to assess rationally what is going on.It's possible people haven't been coming back or people coming back have been fairly rare. Ths could be a recent mutation in the *insert cause here* that causes it. I doubt they put that much thought into how the whole thing works though.
It's also possible for such basic knowledge to simply have gotten past this group of survivors. They've had a fairly small group that seems to have bolted fast when things started going down. They've had no accidental deaths or deaths from natural causes and most of them that did die, died from ghoul attack. The others have (coincidentally) died from head trauma.
Given that, if the communications and media went down fast enough or the *insert cause here* that makes people become walkers spreads to the living slowly enough, it's very likely that an isolated, somewhat lucky group of survivors would be slow to figure out that pretty much everyone who died from there on out would be coming back. It also assumes noone in the group was genre savy (I'm pretty sure a large percentage of the people on this board would be spiking people's heads in that situation just to be safe without any evidence that the formerly alive returned without ghoul bites).
This is one place where the very slow timetable of the show works against it with the audience. For us, it's been almost two years since Z-Day, for the characters in the show, it's been a few months, tops and maybe as little at 4 to 6 weeks. They're still in traumatic shock from the world sliding down into hell and just now starting to sort themselves out about it. They're still smarting from the loss of their families and friends. They're still figuring out a world without instant communications, without instant access to information and without someone learning something new and an hour later the rest of the planet being able to know it too. -
Get rid of the kids (violently), show more dinosaurs, have the portal break so that the next run is the last one that gets through... from then on they're on their own.
-
Um, it doesn't really matter if there is a spoiler in the title of a thread in the forums when it is on the FRONT PAGE of the website, right there for anyone to see. I don't even care about spoilers, but its pretty impossible for those who do to avoid it when its right in front of your face when you go to the website...
(though I'm guessing this will be a comic book death, and someone else is REALLY dying and by doing so will rez States). -
Didn't she ask to go with Rick, Lori and Carl to the Grand Canyon in like episode 1 of this season? And the response was basically "of course sweetie, we'd never go anywhere without you". Perhaps some ominous foreshadowing haha.

Well, Double XP has just moved from the dates I will be on vacation with no access to a computer to dates where my wife is out of town and I have the condo to myself.

Quote:At a 47.5% drop weekend to weekend by current estimates. The above number is just comparing a Friday to Friday. SourceOuch. Even with positive word-of-mouth, Thor still drops off 64%.

I've completely given up on the LFG tool, it really needs to go back to the drawing board as the way it currently functions it is rapidly becoming something that will be used by no one. I've been attempting to use it since i20 launched, and was able to get into 3 or so trial with it over hours of attempts (all of them 8 man Lambdas that failed). Those were all right after release as well. I was actually looking forward to the ease of the LFG tool as well, so its a bit of shame. I can't justify sitting in it for well over an hour when the "average wait time" is 5 minutes or less while I see multiple Lambdas/BAFs advertised, filled and started in the global channels.
I'd ideally like it completely retooled so a team/league leader could advertise his TF/Trial to the server. Ie... I would like to start an ITF. I open the LFG tool, click through some buttons to announce the ITF, the number of people I would like on it, whether it was a moITF, etc. Then that would populate out to the server, so other players could open the LFG tool, select like "Trials/TFs forming" and see a list of all the ones that are trying to fill. They could then select my ITF, be instantly added to my team if they met the criteria, and when it had filled to my specifications it would start, teleporting us all into the first mission.
They really need to do something like this, because I think the LFG tool is headed to the CoH graveyard at this point. -
I haven't failed a trial, either lamda or baf, since the night i20 went live. Running them like clockwork on Victory, now that everyone knows what to do and so many people have their incarnate slots working I actually consider them pretty trivial at this point.
edit: I should note that I have not used the turnstyle since the first night either. After sitting in it one day for around an hour when the wait time was an average of "4 minutes" I decided to just go to Pocket D and see if any were forming. Thats the ticket -
Yes, I'd like to know who exactly at NCSoft I can call and express my extreme displeasure with about this change. I'm failing to understand why they didn't choose to let us log in, then let us choose brand new security questions and go from there. I "failed" the questions, but only tried once as I have no reason to go into my NCsoft account for another year or so. I can assure you I have no clue what I typed into the fields when I was bored one day and decided to play the Lineage 2 beta for a couple hours 7 years ago :P

I can't imagine anyone in the WD world would know what happened, still be alive and have the fortune of meeting up with our group of characters. A complete collapse of society in under 2 months? I doubt even those in charge knew what happened if it came from a natural source. Most likely the news reports were declaring it some type of viral infection or something, and I bet every station had its own story, then all the nuts on the internet declaring everything from the End Times to Alien Plots to the final act of the Black Helicopters.
For me, the only way I could imagine it happening is if it started as a virus, with mild symptoms but extremely contagious. It sweeps around the world a few times, however it primes people to "come back" if they die. If it is only transmitted through bites, it'd be contained extremely fast and there is NO way these shamblin folks could walk and bite fast enough
Now, if every accident victim, heart attack victim, stroke victim... etc started coming back it might be enough to disrupt the social order (hospitals, our place of safety and recovery, get VERY dangerous.. and some very skilled individuals might be the first to go). People start to starve and run out of supplies, the lights go out as those in charge of the power stations turn or get the heck out of dodge... and people begin to fight each other. Which causes more to die... and more to come back. And a bad bad cycle starts up. Just my guess if I had been there
I'm sure each character on Walking Dead has heard a different story on the true root of the dead coming back... and I doubt any of them have it right. -
Been using Midtown Comics for about.... 6 or so years with no issues.

Loved it, that fight vs Graviton was fairly epic. Agreed about the animation, though the second episode it seemed to improve a lot.

I'd most likely got the Hulk route, and just want to be left alone. Of course, if the puny humans keep harassing me the gloves are off

Quote:Yep, most definitely a Logan sighting, even call him by his last nameOh, this is a fun one...
Micro-Ep #14 is up. Captain America's Spotlight begins...
Hydra have replaced the Nazis as the Evil in WW II.
Let us join Kang as he watches Cap in action...
EDIT: Darn it. I know I should wait 'till I watch the whole thing before I post.
We have Howling Commandos and, I think, a Logan sighting in the action to boot.
This is getting better and better...
Thank you for the time...The micro episodes are winning me over for sure, was on the fence about the cartoon at first, can't wait to see it now!
