I still remember where I was; In my History of Western Civ class at my community college; where I have my 2 year degree from.

I'd just gotten done arguing with the professor because he hates discussing the vikings - so he glosses them every time; but he loves the Roman Empire and spends 2 months on it... anyway...

That all seemed pretty trivial when a professor from down the hall ran in and shouted that "they hit the Trade Center" - we all just sort of sat there in silence for awhile.

I eventually mentioned, optimistically, that 'there's no way anyone could hijack an airliner... the best they could do would be a few little prop planes maybe with some explosives - nothing we can't rebuild right?"

Class was dismissed, I got home, checked the news...

Yeah. I spent 6 months fantasizing of ways to remove bin Laden's head; I'm not a violent person, but to do something that awful... frankly I wish I'd known sooner that there were still people like that in the world. I was naive then.

We move on though - grief gives way to anger, anger to determination, determination to hope. We'll never forget September 11th, 2001, just like we'll not forgot December 7th, 1941; the memories will grow a little hazy with time - but no one alive today will forget, and those who come after will learn.

I still hold out hope that someday, we'll all find a way to live together. There will always be violence: But may it be isolated and rare.

I'm sure its just the legal department; and nothing to do with you personally or anything <_ _> its probably one of those "We'd love to but the lawyers..." <points at pirana tank> things.

Still; that royally blows... I'm sure Cuppa herself really appreciates it though <_ _> really sorry; I hope they find a way around it.

Either way, I got the outfit for Angel approved... so here is the finished penciled rough for the painting.

The next thing I should be posting to this thread should be the value layer for the oil painting... once the canvas is finally prepared (it's almost there).

I use... uh... A set of basic drawing pencils (4H to 6B in range); a white eraser, uhm... some printer paper; oh and my new art pens who's names I have not yet thought about enough to figure out <,<;;

I mostly do anime-manga work; but I've been on a sort of artistic journey, trying to re-learn figure drawing since I spent over a year and then some doing nothing but portraits.

There are a couple others, though I can't recall who off the top of my head.

Akotha - Colors *EARLY* Stages

This is just a small update - I've inked and begun the coloring process >.> This is a very very very early stage - everything's really messy right now; but I wanted to put it up like this because I think the color is already improving the basic lines. Not sure I'm happy with the shoulders though... Anyone have a suggestion with them?

Ever consider coloring? I think it'd go well with your style of drawing! Strong start.
