  1. I advise staying away from AE until at least lvl 22 if not higher. If you check the numbers you'll see xp in AE has been cut at least 50% if not up to 66%. Or is it that the xp is cut only in the lower levels...I can't say with certainty.

In my opinion AE only serves two purposes now: exploring player created content and tickets. I only speak for myself when I say I won't pay a visit to AE again until my characters are minimum lvl 22 if not higher.

As for the problem with customs..you're right. Custom critters are too tough now for lowbie. They have too many powers to your too few.
  2. I suggested diminishing returns for repeating all game missions such as with Task/Strike forces in an anti-farm thread I posted mooonths ago.

The respondants threw me a towel party.

Oh ok that explains the false allegation.

No it explains your psychotic response.

They fixed the idea that critters could be immobilized and ripped to shreds with very small risk to those doing the immobilizing.

    Now that is brilliant.

It was an exploit, deny it all you want.

Edit: I wasn't refering to the OP but I will clarify by telling anyone who claims the change was a mistake, is only denying the fact they fixed an error in the Mission Architect.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nobody said ANYTHING about an "exploit" but "YOU" so there is nothing for "me" to deny.

Giving already overpowered critters that use the players scale for damage a ranged attack that scales higher than some of their tier powers is stupid. Regardless of the "need" for some form of ranged attack to deal with "those" people using hover farming, this overpowered ranged attack was not the best solution. A ranged attack in line with lower tier powers would have been enough.

As it is now the previously overpowered custom critters are even moreso now and that is causing serious problems for arc authors. See the test server thread on this for more information on what is actually going on.

The ranged attack "should" be base on the PvE scale and that would have been fine. Just like BM minions and LT's get an archery attack, no problem. Giving them an overpowered ranged attack based on the players damage scale throws things way too out of balance for arc authors.

Imagine how great history would have played out if people quit trying to improve things after the first attempt.

imagine how great history would be if they mass produced cars and everyone drove them before they worked correctly

Not the....best analogy but thank you for taking the time to respond.

  7. Giving up on an unfinished product.......BRILLIANT.

If only more people in this world were like this.

Imagine how great history would have played out if people quit after less than a month.

I recently went into my created mission to add more to it when i found this error.

"improperly formated html, exceeds character limits"

I have no idea what this means or what it is tat I am suppose to fix or change. All of the dialogue and/or information i put ito the fields has not exceeded the character limit for the plain reason, it wont let you. So someone, anyone, please tell me what this vague error is suppose to mean?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Remember when the error message pops up, all you have to do is click on the icon, followed by clicking on the reported error. when you do that MA will open the appropriate place in your mission where the error is.

I find the reason this particular error comes up is because you're using a game character in your mission as an ally or captive. It must be a bug that now the game will show the ally or captive's bio as being too long.

I imagine this will also happen if you type out a bio for a custom critter which is more than 300? characters.

All you have to do is shorten the character's bio.
  9. The obvious answer is to change the AE interface that will show you which power sets have been chosen, at which difficulty level for all custom critters in the mission.

It doesn't have to show you pictures or names, but simply something along the lines of: Custom Enemy-Minioin-BroadSword/Standard-Willpower/Extreme.

I know this seems odd, but since I rarely play Villians I was wondering if someone could tell me how bad it would be to make a Petless Mastermind. I would of course use pets until level 50, but at level 50 I just want to run around as a support character not an army general. So if I went Ninjas/Poison would I be completely worthless or would I be close to a Defender?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I prefer rolling an Empathy Defender who only takes Healing Aura myself. Or perhaps a Kinetics Defender who only takes Transfusion. Yes brilliant. I may be on to something here...

I wanna roll a Willpower Tank only taking High Pain Tolerance from the primary

    Need I go on...
  11. This is an easy solution although perhaps not so easy to implement. Allow the AE interface to display what type of critter is on the map i.e.Minion,Lieutenant,Boss,EB,AV as well as corresponding power sets/difficulty setting.

So the interface won't share story specifics such as critter name and biographies but I wouldn't have a problem seeing AT types/Power sets/difficulty settings on critters.
  12. I don't claim to know what the Devs have in mind with respect to endurance and the fitness pool but I will offer an opinion.

It is my opinion, meaning I speak for no one but myself, the reason the Devs created endurance for their game universe is that in the game universe they conceived, heroes or superheroes and their counterparts should not be able to take one swing after another for all eternity. Maybe they feel it is logical that even the most powerful superhero/supervillain can become physically exhausted.

Now this you may not agree with. It may cause you to enjoy the game less pre-Stamina. It may cause you to cancel your account. Sorry but that seems to be fine with the Devs and it is most certainly fine with me.

To those who feel the fitness pool is manditory I'll say this: if your character concept is one of a person who's extremely active, constantly firing off one powerful attack after another.....why would your character never have had to work on being at the best physical condition he/she can possibly attain?

So your character is Magic origin. Well in most roleplaying settings Magic spells are something that must be learned and perfected over time by any caster. Most magicians cannot cast spells from here to eternity because the process of casting a spell is not without some sort of effort, be that physically or mentally.

Think of endurance and stamina this way: Stamina means your character has learned a technique that makes using his fire blasts less taxing as opposed to another fire blaster who has yet to learn a similar technique.

I don't have any problems with endurance management pre-Stamina. You have to understand the pre and post Stamina existence of any character involves different tactics. Pre-Stamina means slotting your power for accuracy and endurance reduction. It means carrying nothing but endurance inspirations.

In closing the pre-Stamina grind for me isn't such a big deal. At times it may get frustrating but I know it won't be like that forever. Once my character reaches level 20 he will have learned better control over his "powers" that allow him to use them more efficiently.

    Walk Button.

    Hi I'm n00b.

Perhaps if the Devs created a multi-point poll on the majority, if not all, issues the gaming community would like to see addressed.

I wonder how many votes a walking animation would receive from all incoming votes?
  15. The Devs will incorporate this type of change to the game.

It is not a question of if, but when.

    I am not stating opinion.

    It is fact.

The Devs will make this type of change to the game or else.

I am not making a threat.

    I am stating a fact.

MMOs aren't excluded from the basic rule of nature.

    Evolve.

Adapt to fulfill the needs of the customer base.

    Evolve.

Or perish into the midsts of gaming history and lore.
  16. Remember all with the new dual-build feature you can now plan, slot and play an AT with a build geared for team/support and a build for when you solo. If you have the inf. to purp both builds out then so be it. Otherwise recommend you purp either the solo build or the team build. Yes you can also build for pvp(lawlz).

  17. Babs would you please consider changing the animation for Stone Cages so they only go up to just below the knee of critters.

Immobilization should not be as physically imposing as a hold.

    Thank you.
  18. Dear Positron,

Would you be so kind as to please change or petition to change the game in this manner: set recipes are no longer dropped by any defeated enemies.

So the only way a person can get their hands on that LotG is by merit vendor or through WWs once someone else has bought the LotG through Merit vendor.

Please force unto the community the need to co-op. No more cries for "fillers" and "mentors".

How to address the PL aspect of the game...unfortunately only one solution: you can only sk up to a max of 5 lvl difference or so. So no more lvl 1s running around PI.

    Thy will be done.

    Thank you.
  19. No offense but shouldn't a guide offer the writer's opinion on all the powers within the primaries and secondaries as well as dip into a variety of power pools and finally touching upon some of the apps?
  20. I've only played this game less than half a year but there are two items on my wishlist. First, can you please allow access to any active contacts a person might have via the radio? I want to spend time exploring story arcs, not spending time travelling to contacts for the next mish. It's not the most important game feature to address but I think it would go a long way to getting people to explore more of the game instead of loading one meaningless radio mission after the next. Of course there are safeguard badges..I'm not forgetting those ;=D

Second issue...can you please do something about Stone Cages in the Earth control power set. I can understand the graphic for Fossilize being imposing and large considering it's holding the enemy in suspended animation but why do Stone Cages have to be equally imposing? Afterall they don't hold the enemy, they simply immobilize them. If someone could please come up with a graphic that would cover an enemy just up to the knees, I for one would be very happy with the change.

Probably won't ever happen since it would seem whoever came up with the graphic in the first place thinks it looks really, really cool...but whatever. It's just a suggestion.
