The mighty Templar found his way eventually to Faultine. He knew that the people of Faultine were in a lot of trouble and filled with anxiety over the flooding of the area and the incursions by Arachnos there. Perhaps this is where he could find some answers and begin his quest....
-
Masonic Templar sat on the shoulder of the giant statue in the middle of Blyde Square as he often did and watched the city below. He simply shook his head as he watched citizen running from villians with unbelievable power; then would watch superpowered heroes chase those very villians, only for more chaos to insue. It was like watching rats in a maze try to find the cheese.
He let out a deep sigh. He had come here to make things better, to help others, to make a difference... and for what? All of his good work seemed to have been for naught.
Here he was, the very emination the combined spirit power of every Knights Templar, every Freemason and every Shriner who had ever lived or was living now.. his entire existence was because his power, his strength and his leadership was needed here in Paragon City more than ever before...
and yet...
yet here he sat inconsolable.
Had the spirits of his Brethren been wrong to create him into this world?
Did his being here really make a difference? Did anyone really care at the end of the day??
The mighty Templar just sighed even more.
"Oh my Brethren, what is my purpose? What is my gain? How can I complete my mission when all is so easily undone. I need your wisdom..."
The silence was deafening for a few minutes, but then the wind seemed to stir and the energies of the air seemed to change. The mighty Templar felt the presense of his most powerful mentor. He looked up to see the spirit of his great Grand Master Jacques DeMolay. Templar was moved greatly as he asked in a deeply respectful voice, "How can I be of service to my Great Grand Master?"
Demolay spoke softly to his ward, "You cannot give up hope my Templar. I know that your heart is heavy and your burden heavier. This world, these people, they need you. You may feel your work as fleeting but it is not, I assure you this."
The mighty Templar thought a moment and then asked, "What would you have me do then Grand Master? How do I seek the answers I so desperately need?"
Demolay smiled and replied, "Go Templar, go on this Quest to seek those answers. Find them in the people you meet, with others who are also seeking, in the challenges you will face. You see my Templar, there is change coming in the wind. The Darkness grows and the Shadows will make their presence know much sooner than you or anyone else might expect. Go. Find yourself. Go. Assist others. Go and you will find your answers, but GO! For the world is about to reach a new precipice of danger. Go Templar, you will not be dissapointed I assure you. This is your Quest, and I am asking you as a friend and Brother, to do this so that you may see that your hard work matters. So Mote it Be!"
The spirit was gone and the mighty Templar sighed again but resolved himself to do as he had been asked. He looked down for a moment and let himself freefall to the ground. His glowing aura of "invulnerability" sparkled around him as he hit the pavement HARD. The very road under him cracked and collapsed a bit.
The mighty Templar then began to take a look around and really began to think how and where to begin his quest. The winds were indeed about to change...... -
Hello to all, it is good to roleplay with you all and welcome to this new Open RP thread... yes, as usual, all the typical rules of an open rp apply here: No God Characters, no killing of another player without said player's permission, courtesy and harmony is paramount, etc...
What I want to do here is a little different. All of COH/COV is in play as in other RP threads, but this one I want to emphasize the STORY.
The story I want to emphasize in this RP thread is: Whatever character you run in here is going through deep introspection. I want this RP thread to be one that the internal aspects of a heroes life be brought to the fore.
Use these parameters to help you understand what I want to see in this thread:
Why does the hero or villian keep doing what they do DAY AFTER DAY AFTER DAY?
Your hero or villian is beginning to question why they slog about on and on without getting much notice or while other family or personal problems are hitting them at the worst time, or any other storyline where your character is facing a crisis or challenge or personal situation that is making them wonder about their life, the big picture and what it all means.
Ill set the scene, you fill in the blanks as you see fit. My hope is that this rp game thread will allow those who really love to tell a story to be able to do so while interacting with the rest of us. Please enjoy.
***Note: Due to my limited ability to access the Internet as much as I like to at this time, I will only post here when I can so don't feel like you have to be tied to my characters (or anyone else's for that matter).. basically just have fun and play nice with others*** -
Well it is good to be back..at least for a temporary moment.. have very real life important issues going on (my dad's in the hospital and will be remaining there for 2-4months).. and most know me that I only post when I really feel an urge to add to the conversation.. but this news I feel is a good move in the sense that a lot more funding and attention will be put to our great game.. I am anticipating all the things that NCSoft looks to be wanting to add or enhance in the game.
For now, lets use the strategy I am using staying here with my dad 24/7: Wait and see. Take everything day to day until such a time comes that changes need to be considered; then, we raise our voices in concert and lobby the devs until those changes become reality... just my 2 influence.... -
Man, that absolutely, positivily ROCKED.. THANK YOU DEVS, and thanks to every one who loves this game, plays this game and has mad this game a success for now on 3 wonderful years.. may it never end!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I agree with the original poster 100000% Good job to the Devs, the Moderators and everyone at NCSoft and COH/V!
-
And right after the Thanksgiving break, the devs will release I8 and everyone will stop crying about it.. go figure...

*from the depths of a suddenly appearing and eerie darkness steps a masked man, wearing midnight colored clothing and glowing white eyes*
"Hello everyone," he says in a bone chilling low voice, "I am the Jaded King, or as my few friends call me, 'The Jaded One', and I am here because I must admit I am fascinated with this ancient holiday you call 'All Hallows Eve'.. I must admit that in intrigues me to my very core." The Jaded King's eyes glow a little more fiercely as he continues, "You see, I am from what you would call a future, alternate world of your own. We nicknamed that world 'Gamma Earth' but you might know it as 'Gamma World'.
I came back with four of my colleagues to change that horrid future, but in that process it seems that we all ended up here, in a totally different and alternate world altogether!" He looks around at all of you and his dark plastisteel armor only seems to drink up more of what little light is left in the room.
"I am intrigued because you see, where I come from, a night like 'Halloween' as you call it, is like everyday living. Fear, struggle for survival, nihilism at its very best. I must admit though, it stirs my blood even more than my usual nights and days of delivering justice to the unjust." Jaded King cracks his knuckles with a most disturbing sound and motion, and his eyes begin to crackle as if a fire of his soul wants to get out of him, "I will be delighted to join you all on this Hallows Eve event, and I want you to know that I intend to bring down whatever evil decides to lurk in the shadows, for they only come into MY territory, and so by doing that...invite their death. I invite you to join me during this event... IF you dare! You can find me at the place that is called
'Infinity'.. let us break some bones and make the unjust cry out in pain and for mercy...." The Jaded King laughs a terrible and disturbingly haunting laugh and then dissapears back to the shadows for whence he came..... -

Haha.. remember when the boombox emote first came out, and whole zones were crashing because EVERYONE was throwing dance parties? Fun times.

And the whole new rage was a place called "Paragon City Dance Party" You bet.. but the Ritki Invasion at the end of BETA will forever be etched in my mind.... as well as locking in the name for my Hero so that when the game went live, Id create her exactly as I wanted.. and for the record.. Fire Tankers ARE STILL GODS.... ok.. lesser gods maybe, but still awesome after all this time. -
Thank you Devs for two wonderful years so far of the best game of all MMOs... Ive been away, I know, Real Life issues can be so overwhelming, but I am back and enjoying the game as I did before. I hope for another 2, 22 or even 222 years of great gaming here at Coh/v... once again, thanks to all of you for a great game always being there for us.

Ive been away from the game for over seven months; I come back to find that the incredible CuppaJo is leaving for Tabula Rasa.. let me explain something to you folks... I was in Beta, I helped to try and bring this awesome game to life... just one of many who had the priviledge of running in Beta... I was on this board before it looked like it does now... and CuppaJo has always been there. I cannot tell you how sad it is to see her go. I know her talents are awesome and I know her presence is beyond belief... for those reasons alone she is being recruited for TR, but it absolutely is a loss for these forums and the uncountable people who have roamed these boards... whether they be from the ancient times (like me) or whether they just got on yesterday. There is no one like CuppaJo... anywhere.
CuppaJo, I salute you. All my characters will hold a minute of silence in your name the next time I play them. Travel Well and remember, you will always be missed! *FULL SUPERHERO SALUTE TO CUPPAJO* -

Please feel free to check out my Heroes page at http://www.geocities.com/masonicword...of_Heroes.html
Id appreciate it, since I worked hard to make it look half way good. Ill soon have things on there like a guest sign in book and such, so its still a work in progress (arent all websites?) and I am most proud of it! -
Oh my goodness... I remember entering the tutorial in beta for the first time.. I was so giddy at having designed my first character... I was besides myself. I couldnt believe how beautiful the world was, how awesome every hero looked! I felt at that moment I was almost there! I ran around and looked at everything at first.. i couldnt help myself.. I finished the tutorial and ended up in Atlas. God Ms. Liberty was so hot! and everyone was like me.. with their jaws on the floor just trying out everything.. going everywhere. We all knew what we were supposed to be doing.. testing the game, finding bugs, et al, but those first few days were like Alice through the looking glass or the Pensives walking out of the wardrobe and into Narnia... it was so amazing
I remember defeatingmy first hellion, then running up and down every stair case looking for baddies and jumping/leaping all the time.. splashing around in all those fountains...
I remember my first time in KR and on my first COT mission.. and using the window sils to jump up on and up and up until you reached the roof without using the ladders.. god that was so cool.
I remember also being afraid to go into Perez park! God that place was a nightmare to me... you could so easily get lost
I remember seeing my first bug: I hit a helliion into the wall and he was stuck in the wall.. couldnt get out.. it was unbelievable...
I had always wanted to feel like a hero... and CoH did it for me.. and to this day its is THE GAME for me.. mor fun than anything I have ever played before or since (at least computer wise)...
I also remember looking at all the heroes as they stood around the statue of Atlas in the final minutes of Beta.. and I was actually so proud!!! We chrushed the Ritki then and I felt so heroic... and it was terrible to wait for the game to go live...
and we are barely scratching the surface here... all the gamers who are experiencing this game we love for the first time will have their own stories to tell.. and so will we... and that in itself is almost mind boggling... I cant even imagine what stories we'll be telling five years from now.... -
Been a loooooong time since Ive been on the boards but now that the arena is coming I had to post again.
for what its worth.. if people are going to spy.. let them.. any good military commander knows that information about your enemy is vital.. besides, it will make for better overall tactics and strategies being formulated by the teams.
I also welcome the challenge to fight in that situation.. there are many here who I am sure feel the same way: the more difficult you make the situation the better I become.. to quote a certain senator from Massachusetts: "Bring it ON!"
