  1. Just a few things off the top of my head:

    * Glowing Touch has a 30 foot range. Other ranged single-target heals have 80 foot ranges.
    * Photon Seekers' 300-second base recharge is longer than Extracted Essence's 240-second recharge. Consider lowering it to 240.
    * Group Energy Flight needs to have some incentive over the pool version. Consider removing the tohit debuff and lower the endurance cost.
  2. Small change that wasn't mentioned in the patch notes. Similar previous changes have usually made it into the patch notes, but this one didn't (although given the large amount of stuff missing from the the I13 patch notes, I'm not surprised):

The "Stop Mother Mayhem" (defeat-all, outdoor instanced, Waxachie Park train mission) mission from Maria Jenkins had a two-hour timer added to it.

Well, after careful reading and deciphering, I have finally made it to the end of the 13 pages of reading, skipped some and read most of the posts, and now got my 1 suggestion and 3 reasons why the devs will "never ever" implement this to the game at this point.

    [/ QUOTE ]
LOL, you do realize that they did implement this (or at least in some manner) in PvP in I13?

I don't think I've ever seen anyone actually take this power, but you're missing Sonic Repulsion. Its Repel toggled on an ally, but you get tagged for the end drain.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Does Disruption Field (toggle on an ally) also make the targeted ally an agro-magnet (or at least it originally did)?

    [/ QUOTE ]
No, that was changed sometime between I12 and I13, I believe.

Also, as for Tornado, how would you describe a well-used one? I have a Mercs/Storm Mastermind who'll probably be getting it, and an Energy/Energy/Leviathan Stalker who'll probably be getting Water Spout.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Many consider Water Spout to be superior to Tornado because it does knockup instead of knockback, meaning mobs are still unable to do anything while they're flying through the air, but they land near or at where they took off from. Tornado's random knockback will send mobs flying everywhere unless they're locked down or have some geometry keeping them in place - it's useful on a Controller who uses his AoE immobilize (which prevents knockback, except in the case of Gravity Control), for keeping enemies pinned in a corner, and against KB-resistant mobs, but other than that... not so much.

    Mac Open Beta

    [ QUOTE ]
Well, I'm happy to report that my lamentations were a bit premature. I've found that by lowering the settings just a smidge, the Mac mini, with it's much-maligned GMA 950 card, runs *almost* as well as it did on the Windows side. A few minor glitches (diffuse light from streetlights at dusk looking like big squares in the sky until you get closer to them), but for the most part, not that bad at all.

Good enough, anyway, that when the full Mac client arrives I'll probably delete my Windows partition at last.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I, too, am deleting my XP partition, which should help reclaim about 11GB of my drive. I am, however, going to keep a small XP image in VMWare Fusion so I can run Mids, since I have had no luck in getting it to run under OS X.
  7. Pretty much the entire Storm set, when used improperly.

    SNOW DAY!

-40 with windchill here yesterday. It's at times like that that everything just kinda shuts down. Yes, I'm aware it's colder some places, and it can get colder here, but -40 is usually the cutoff point for the local schools.
  9. We don't know exactly how demo launching works on the Mac side yet, but it's something that's being looked into by several testers.

    Mac Open Beta

    [ QUOTE ]
Usually accounts created on the Test Server are playable immediately upon account creation. My understanding is that the Mac Beta is on a different server with a lower refresh rate (currently 24-48 hours). So it's a case of using stock verbiage rather than coding all new auto-messages w/ slightly tweaked info.

Don't worry, the wait is worth it! I can't wait to get back into the fray!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Open beta is on the same test server that everyone else uses.

    Mac Open Beta

"HeroStats does not work in the Mac envrionment, as it uses Windows .Net programming."

Hmm, I wonder if it might be possible to get HeroStats working with Mono? Mono is an open-source re-implementation of the .Net runtime for Unix-like platforms (including OS X). The main development is being managed by Novell. I think the .Net API's might be somewhat limited right now for Mono, though, so not reallly sure if you could get HeroStats working, but might be worth a check?

    [/ QUOTE ]

One of the people in closed beta got this working. I'll try to find out who.

Now if we could get Mids running... someone said something along the lines of "Mids wouldn't be opposed to making a Mac version, but he doesn't have a Mac to build/test it on."

I am so excited to be able to play CoX on my Mac! I've held onto my PC so that I could play games on it and after it crashing a week ago and with Crossover and Parrallels not working for me to play CoH I did a google search and was amazed that I wont have to spend extra time and money on my PC before I have to to play the games I love.

Has there been any updates as far as who has been selected or if there is an open beta on the way?

I just realised that I havent been on the forums in close to two years :O

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would assume open beta is on the way, as soon as they feel ready to release it.
  14. Anyone know what the "glowie" noise is? I want to replace it with something a bit less subtle, and I've found several references to people doing just that, but they never mention what folder/file to replace.

    Issue 13: BUGS

    [ QUOTE ]
When I hit F7 (Ready!), this is what I see on my screen
    <color black>< bgcolor #22aa22>Ready!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Due to changes in the chat system, color tags aren't being read right. A fix is in the works, I've heard, but it's not high-priority.

    Issue 13: BUGS

    Server: Justice
    Zone: Sharkhead
Character name: That's What She Said
Time: 11:31PM -ish (according to email I received)
    Location: N/A
    Mission: random Freakshow paper mission
    Mission Contact: newspaper
Bug Description: I was hit by a Freakshow Tesla Cage while under the effects of Mastermind Pain Domination - Enforced Morale, and was still slept. The mag of the sleep was less than the protection granted by EM, making me believe this is a bug.
Link to Forum Discussions: haven't looked for any so far

Another thing I noticed - this happened more than once (i.e. being mezzed through EM). It seems to be happening toward the end of Enforced Morale's duration, but while the power is still affecting me. I went to check the real numbers for EM to see if its mag was less than the stun/sleep that was on me, but all that was showing in the real numbers was the +perception bonus. Perhaps the power is bugged and the +perception lasts longer than the mez protection/+speed/+recharge (all the benefits are supposed to last 90 seconds)?
  17. Bumping this thread and asking to have it stickied until we can come up with a more recent "issues list." I'm working on one currently and should have it up within a few days.

how about merits for the giant monster badges & the zombie raid badges that we already have?!

They didn't retroactively award recipes for task forces completed before Issue 9, did they?

    Didn't think so.

mac, that's quite a bit of buff icons. How can you deal with that? That's like :O to me.

And still can't see how some of you can play with the window scale at 100%, it can be so "in yo face" at times,

    =P

    [/ QUOTE ]
For some reason I'm really good at multitasking in-game, but not really out-of-game. I keep all those windows, tabs, and icons up so I can tell at a glance when buffs on my teammates are dropping, when my own buffs are dropping, how my pet is doing, and so on. I keep the combat data window open mostly to check hit rolls and damage numbers, if I'm interested, and also to monitor procs. I have all of my global channels (I think I have seven now) in the same tab/window and am pretty good about managing them properly.

It's interesting for me, at least, that I have somewhat of a standard about how I place a given power in the tray - Sprint is always 2-2, Rest is always 2-4, my travel power is always 2-5 (and 2-6 if I have more than one), AoE stealth powers are always 2-1, otherwise that's where Hasten goes. Medium-to-long recharge clicks, defensive toggles on non-squishy AT's, and pet summons/upgrades always go on my third tray. Attacks go on my first tray, and oftentimes follow the same order: on my trollers/doms, the single-target hold is always 1-2, AoE immob is 1-5, AoE stun is 1-4. Single-target ally heal is usually 1-6, AoE heal is 1-1. For Blasters, tier 1 ranged is 1-5, tier 2 ranged is 1-3, and tier 3 ranged (if any) is 1-1. This standardization makes it easier for me to switch between different characters.
  20. And mine. I play on a 1650x1080 screen in windowed mode.

I remember that screenshot (and the series of shots that were taken at around the same time) because it's the STF run my Earth/Storm got MoSTF on. I remember zoning into Independence Port and seeing the team composition and going "lol this is never gonna happen" but I was proven wrong.

A: This is probably the most complex part of the Merit Reward system. Different types of tasks have different diminishing rates.

-Story Arcs do not have diminishing returns.
-Task Forces without a second reward option will have their rewards reduced by 50% each time the task is completed within 24 hours. So if a task force gives 50 merits the first time done within 24 hours, then the second time will give 25, the third time will give 12, the fourth time 6. This is reset after 24 hours. Also, I wanted to remind players that the 24 hour diminishing returns set up that we currently have may be subject to change.
-Task Forces and Trials with unique rewards (respecs or unique enhancements) grant full merit rewards for the first completion within 24 hours and 50% merit rewards for each subsequent completion. So if the first run through a task gives 50 merits, each subsequent run through will give 25.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Phew! I'm glad those Task Forces and Trials get 50% easier every time you run them in a 24 hour period. Otherwise, it would really screw up the risk vs reward thing you've got going there.

    UPDATED NEWS:

Items in personal inventory will be placed at the reduced price after the issue goes live. Merry Christmas!

I still don't think I'm going to be able to afford to upgrade my bases, even with the changes. I'm looking for a basic workshop/teleport solution (maybe two enhancement bins, two salvage bins, and a worktable, and three teleport pads per base). Right now I'm sitting on about 430k prestige in one group and about 200k in the other.
