  3. I brought my dom into RV about a week ago and was fighting 2 scrappers , I Lost a few times. Than I saw a heavy, hid behing the atlas city hall sent in my heavy first and than I joined in once they were distracted. I killed one and the other ran away. I dont regreat it or think its unfair.

    Yup same here after I kill a mob I have to /synch, first time its actully worked for me!, before I moved on. Also I just restarted my computer a few mins ago and noticed It took 2 or 3 tries to connect to the Updater

    Disregarding whether or not prices are too high ( a different conversation ), this idea is changing the whole principle of IO's. A couple of major problems; 1) non-pvpers will complain that they have to buy IO's from other players whereas pvp'ers can buy them with earned XP leading to 2) PVE'rs ( the core of the game in all honesty ) will then demand a similar thing in PVE. I cannot see this happening.

    Sure why not lets see how the rv pvp night will go hopefully we will get a good turnout. Don’t get me wrong I like zonal pvp I just really liked the big arena matches. I feel we can balance the team numbers better I mean if I turn up to RV and there is 10 heros and 4 villains Ill still go out and fight but it would probably take the fun out of it after a while for villains getting pwned and the heros having no real challenge but if we were in the arena we could get two teams of 7.

    I like this but I have an exam Tuesday morning and might not be there , but ill try.


    I just want to point out that my initial suggestion for disabling Ios wasn’t focused on all pvp zones , I would be irritated of all the time I spent farming for my purples, but having a disable ios option in arena so we could have it as an option for event nights if we were going to have one but after reading rooks post I think it may be futile to try and please people who don’t pvp and since a large amount of pvpers left the game due to i13,i14 changes then I think maybe a roll back, or an optional roll back in arena , (yes I am pushing this J ) is in order to maybe bring them back and stop others from leaving.

    Im sure the goal of nsoft isn’t to lose revenue with modifications to the game but in saying that people who are in charge hate to admit when they have made a mistake which could lead to further drops in subscriptions. I also wonder if posting here is having an effect I don’t know how much say the European Red Names have about the future of the game in that case its not there fault what has happened. I wonder how the larger American Pvp community feels about this .
    Do they agree with the effect of the last 2 issues to the pvp community?
    Have they experienced players dropping?
    If so is this a concern for nsoft business in the current times?
    Should they consider a roll back?

    Thats cool I thought I hit a nerve initialy.
    Its my intention here to make this constructive to the pvp community by finding ways in bringing in more players.
    Im still feeling around this new system since ive been gone since last september but i do feel there is alot less action atm. I would like to see a few pvp nights like we had back in the day.

    100% agree with your points

    People should stop been mardy with defeat but if your new to anything and play against someone who is vastly more experienced than you and they thrash you completely each time chances are you will interest and you wont come back.

    I also agree with an experienced player will always beat a newbie no matter what , but Im just putting out the point that the introduction of higher global bonuses increases the learning curve of pvp. I mean if you take 2 players of the same level of experience and give them both blasters of the same power sets and give one guy the advantages of been fully Ioed , I would think that that guy is going to win 9/10 times.

    Its hard enough for you to fight someone who is already vastly more experienced but in order to compete in pvp now you have to put more time into pve so you can get influence and drops for your toon which takes you away form the zones during play time.

    I don’t really want to force people into the arena and away from zones but atm people aren’t going to zones. Its just that I thought the option of suppressing global bonuses in arena would get more people to come along, that other wise wouldn’t come because off this off put, if we arrange pvp nights in Pd like we used to have. They were fun I went there my first time with a level 30 dominator and I still had a laugh and it got me interested then in going to Sc and RV.

    Pvp is very expensive to get involved with as the amount of time it takes to :

    1st - get a toon to 50
    2nd Farming to get recipes influence so you can buy purple Ios

    After reading Knight Stalkers goodbye post I have to agree it does make the game very monotones and I know I spent hours farming my Dom to get him to 50 and even more time farming for influence to the point that I got sick of it and left the game. Recently I re subscribed to see the MA, which is uber cool indeed!, I promised myself no more farming but as I want to get another pvp toon I found myself doing the same thing but to be honest I don’t have the time or the patience to do it again.

    Ios are a semi good idea in pvp they allow you to “Pimp Your Player” out, change him up a bit and maybe have an opportunity to play him in a new way and in theory this should have been a godsend for pvp but its having the opposite effect.

    I think pvp is the natural extension of the game, for me anyway, after killing thousands and thousands of artificial mobs I want to fight a human controlled player before Ios you could walk into a zone and just play and probably lose your first few times but now your not just dealing with a more experienced players you have to deal with global bonuses that widen this gap even more and I think this puts a lot of people off the idea of playing it long term as they are not willing to put all that time into farming which I think is a requirement of pvp atm.

I'm sure people generally preferred the way the Squished tournie worked where the excitement built quickly towards the final by having all matches in one night - this isnt really practical given the 20 minute matches but 2-3 matches a week will prevent it dragging like the Duel tournie did.

    Thats to bad I mean you go to all this work to get a pvp tornement together cause you like to pvp only to have yourself get excluded for doing something constructive for the community, even though its not your job since you pay for a subscription like every other player in this game.
