DM/SD/Fire - Scrap
Ice/Cold/Power - Fender
Rad/MM/Force - Blaster
All round survivability, great ST and AoE dmg, ALOT off -regen/-def/-resist. -
I'm suggesting an Aussie rock night, believe it or not but we do have other rock bands besides AC/DC...

Heres my tank, I slotted for def and max health only so theres no global recharge or much of anything else really.
At the time this build only cost me 400m-ish. The 2 purple melee IO's being the most expensive of course, followed by the Reactive armours (Fairly rare set) and then the Kin Combats.
I can tank 6 GM's all at the same time, tested in PI. Can also tank LR with no trouble/inspires at all.
The only hole is of course, Psi...Those Rikti Magus' will floor you.

I would suggest a DM/SD/Blaze but if you want to go PvP'n then mayb not.
I mean it does good dmg but its mainly a PvE def based toon and we all kno how useful def is in zone...
Idk about regens, they seem a little squishy to me. Yea sure the heals are nice but damage resist and some good regen/max health outweigh reconstrucion. If you think you need a heal Aid Self is a very useful option, my PvP tank has it.
Thought about DM/WP?
I've come up against a few good wp brutes and they're hit points never seem to move, a scrap can get fairly similar numbers. Plus with Dark Consumption, Quick Recov and Stamina you'll NEVER run outta end.
Slot Siphon Life for +heal and a lil dmg and you'll have a 200-ish hp heal that does 300-ish dmg every 5-6 seconds with just hasten.

This is my new brute build. While im sure he could tank an AV, im pretty sure he wouldnt have the DPS needed to kill it. Went for regen, max health, def and a little recharge.

IMO SS trumps Elec, especially now that boss farms are a thing of the past.
Why do we need to do that much burst AoE dmg? My SS/SD brute and DM/SD scrap can floor mobs just with SC alone. Its a little excessive.
Add in the new animations for SS and theres another reason to take it. :)

Hey, have a 43 rad/kin corr and a 50 fire/fire blaster so personally I would remove the 6th slots from X-ray beam, Fire sword, Combustion, FSC and Blazing Aura.
Again, personally i dont 6 slot powers unless im goin for a defense bonus or if the 6th slot can hold a proc.
Throw the extra slots into Boxing and put the purple stun set in there, the cost of that set is pretty much equal to Obliterations...kinda.
And again, personally i think acrobatics is nothing but a wasted power pick. Zephyr's, Karma's and Steadfast's all add 4 points of kb protection which makes acrobatics pointless.
Rad uses ALOT of endurance, as does Hotfeet, Blazing Aura, Tough and Weave. With those toggles you'll go through your end in no time, acrobatics would be another slap in the face for Mr Endurance Bar.
All of that is my personal preference though, as stated many times above. -

Your proc's do less dmg, your attacks do less dmg and they have more health...
