Elec/Shield/Mu

Does this rival what SS/Shield is able to accomplish? Seems like Lightning Rod/Shield Charge would be a nasty combo. Then with the AoE goodness of TS, CI, JL and Ball Lightning not much would be left standing.

Thoughts?

IMO SS trumps Elec, especially now that boss farms are a thing of the past.

Why do we need to do that much burst AoE dmg? My SS/SD brute and DM/SD scrap can floor mobs just with SC alone. Its a little excessive.
Add in the new animations for SS and theres another reason to take it. :)

Heres my brutes build. I didnt take rage cos im not a fan of the crash.
Hope it helps.

Agreed. Now that boss farms are over I miss my ss/shield that I deleted..

I really appreciate the information but I'm confused. I'm just returning from a one year hiatus, so I don't know anything about boss farms, but before I left AoE was the king of farms and it seems like nothing could beat Elec/Shield/Mu. Can somebody explain why Ss gets the edge? Are we sayin that Elec would just be overboard on the AoE and that Ss has enouh for killing minions and lt's while having the single target thump to take down strong foes?

Thanks in advance!

I think because SS has the advantage of Rage. Having the ability to stack Rage, Against all Odds an Fury can lead to some pretty impressive damage as well as goo mitigation with Foot Stomp.

However as a person who owns a Shield/Elec Brute ( no Mu.. didnt have room for it) I find that most things are toast after the Lightning Rod. Shield Charge Thunderstrike combo..

The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

SS/Shield wins out in sustained damage, that is, damage over time. People above are saying that Elec's burst damage advantage is overkill for situations you'd actually see in the game.

However, Elec/Shield is incredibly flashy, especially with the new power customization. Even when min/maxing, you have to consider how good you look. Besides, you could always lightning rod + thunderstrike one group, then shield charge + thunderstrike the next group.

Or you could just obliterate a group with all three. Why does OVERKILL have to be a bad term? It sounds like a compliment to me.

^ This. Another reason why i didnt chose Elec, the ST dmg is appalling.
My brute isnt exclusively used for farming so some ST attacks come in handy.

And im not a fan of overkill, i mean you wouldnt use a nuke on 2 minions, would you? Just silliness.
