  1. Coming back from a long weekend and played some more trials the past two days. This issue got extremely annoying on some Lambda runs last night where I was trying to get my location debuffs right next to Marauder as he was jumping around all over the place. I decided I would try and reset all my options to default to see if there was something in there causing this. Did a reset, and just for grins closed CoH and started up again. I put my settings back as best as I can remember but I still have the same problem. Will be filing a CS ticket tonight for help and see where it can get me.
  2. Up to 1208 now after getting a MoBAF in yesterday. I think I'm down to about 15 possible badges remaining, some of which I doubt I'll ever see... like the one for winning a Pentad arena match or a Cathedral Trial... and a handful of other Mo task/strike force badges.

Now c'mon, was that really necessary? I made no allusions in my post about expecting a full turnout immediately. I knew it was the middle of the day on a weekday, but considering I had the time off I figured it didn't hurt to try and organize one.
  4. Posting late but didn't get any turn out for this one, so ended up canceling it as well.
  5. Well, unfortunately we didn't have much participation for this one so I'm going to cancel it. I'll try again the next time I have some vacation days.
  6. Well I posted these in the wrong sequence. Oh well. As I said in my other task force thread, I've come down to only two task forces in the game which I have never run: Justin Augustine and Dr. Quaterfield. I have some time off on Tuesday (4/19) as well and would like to run Dr. Quaterfield. I know this is a weekday but hope there are 7 brave souls out there willing to jump on board with me.

Please respond if you would like to join me on what I've heard is a ridiculously long adventure, complete with Incarnate Shard earning potential now! We'll begin at 12:45pm EST, meeting in the Shadow Shard at the Dr. beginning at 12:30pm EST.

  7. Hi All,

Long time Justice player, new time Justice poster. Long story short, I've come down to only two task forces in the game which I have never run: Justin Augustine and Dr. Quaterfield. I have some time off on Monday (4/18) and would like to run Justin Augustine to all those willing and able to participate. I know this is a weekday but hope there are 7 brave souls out there willing to jump on board with me.

Please respond if you would like to join me on this epic, and long, adventure! We'll begin at 12:45pm EST, meeting in the Shadow Shard at Justin beginning at 12:30pm EST.

  8. Doh, forgot to come post in this thread when I finally hit 1200. Hit 1204 last night after finally coming back Hero side and running through Roy Cooling's story arc.
  9. Sorry I don't have a specific /loc to give you. I was in Talos facing towards the DA gate but close to the water to be sure there was absolutely nothing behind me, but just in range of the shore so I could toss my location powers about.

I wanted to make note that, at least I (I can't speak for Justice_Reaper), am not seeing a red reticule when this happens indicating it's a bad placement location. The location reticule is still blue/white indicating a valid location.

Thinking about what you said of the transparent polygons, if that were the case wouldn't the reticule change so that it's directly on top of me and red, indicating a bad placement location? That is not occurring, if that is the case.

No argument here, and when this occurs I tend to jump at the courtyard container to get the team moving instead of standing around pointing fingers.

Thank you StratoNexus, that was what I asking above. Phew, this seems tough to manage.

Very good advice here, but unfortunately did not remedy my issue. I actually sit at a desk with two computers, both with wireless keyboards/mice. I replaced the batteries fresh last night for the keyboard and mouse but it did not correct the problem. I then thought perhaps it is interference from the other wireless setup so I powered off the other wireless keyboard/mouse. Same problem. I then tried pulling my rig out so that the wireless receiver had clear line of sight to my keyboard/mouse. Same issue.

Interesting idea gameboy, but unfortunately also wasn't the cause for me. I took my character out to a wide open space last night, into the water area near the door for Dark Astoria in Talos Island. I faced the door so that there was nothing but wide open space behind me and tried casting my power on the ground in front of me but had the same intermittent issue. I did try changing my zoom level and it did appear to get a little better as I zoomed in close, but I did not like my camera view to be right behind my characters head. But, even then, the problem still occurred, just not as often.

I don't think this is server lag playing a problem. If it was server lag, you would see a timing issue between when you actually got the power to acknowledged you cast it but pause before the game actually performed the animation (which does happen a lot during the new iTrials). This is a delay, or being stuck, from moving your mouse around the screen. That, to me, says it's a client issue.

I'm open and welcome to testing further ideas. I'm still stumped.
  13. So for a while now I've had this issue with trying to use location based powers which are cast by placing the location reticule down and clicking. Except for me, my reticule tends to "stick" when trying to place it. By that I mean, when I move the mouse to the place I want to cast it, the location reticule has not moved on my screen. This isn't lag, as anything else I do happens instantly.

Additionally, and this may be the same problem as the reticule getting "stuck", is that I can click on the placement of the power to cast it but it doesn't fire. I don't get any error, the reticule isn't red indicating it's a bad spot. It just doesn't fire the power. I have to get it moving again to a new location, or simply move it away and back to the same spot, for it to then fire correctly.

I have tried looking through all the graphics and keybind options and find nothing that remotely indicates to me that changing it would fix the problem (and I have changed a bunch to no avail). I have not had this problem the whole time I've been playing CoH. I've been playing for 7 years now and this issue just cropped up about 3-4 months ago. This is on a character I play almost nightly and no options have changed on it. I haven't performed a respec in that time. I'm really at a loss as to explain this issue.

Has anyone else run into this? Have you resolved it? If so, how? Thanks in advance for any help.

So that means all reinforcements when you fight them solo? I.e., fighting Nighstar as the 2nd objective in the trial, and then Siege as the 4th objective, right before you fight them both?
  15. Question on this one. I've now run on two different runs to get this badge and was told by the leaders that the only reinforcements that matter are the ones during the double AV fight at the end. Meaning the reinforcements coming when you fight them solo do not count towards this badge. On these two runs, we failed to achieve it. So, I'm inclined to believe this is incorrect and those reinforcements do count.

Can I get someone to confirm or deny this?

mule the 'nades, sure. acid mules - maybe for the first runs when only a few ppl had been on beta and knew what was going on. Now? I do not agree.

    The rest, pretty solid guide.
I also agree that throwing all the acid grenades at one player to do the work is more work than it needs to be.

But, I have found more often than not that there is at least 1 player on a team who is oblivious to the fact that they got the temp power, and then spending 1-2 minutes narrowing down who that person is and trying to convince them to open up their temp powers window and get the thing.

Also, and this has occurred only one time in about a dozen Lambda runs, but we managed to use two acid grenades on a single door, leaving one untouched. It must have been lag and/or a timing issue, but there were two players who went to the same door and tossed their acids at the same time. It seems hard to duplicate, but it's possible.

Just wanted to pull this one out to make note that you also earn Astral Merits for everything without restriction no matter how many times you run the trials during a day. If I recall correctly, at base you can earn up to 3 Astral Merits in each trial for completing the corresponding objectives. There are also Astral Merits and incarnate salvage rewards for completing some of the badge related objectives as well, which you can find on the ParagonWiki.

I had really high hopes for the queues. I mean, being able to run around any zone doing "something" whilst waiting in the queue for a trial to form seems like an awesome idea. But, the fact that the queue starts up a trial with the minimum amount required does not bode well right now. Maybe when a majority of the folks running it have their new slots unlocked and filled a minimum team would be fine, but right now it does not encourage me to use it. I wish the queue had two options for each trial: one for the minimum required and one for the maximum required.

So obviously, my current goal is to be able to slot my rare Lore as soon as possible on the characters that I'm using. Presently, I don't have any slots unlocked (my highest is at ~80% for Judgement), so the question becomes: since I'm already getting Salvage that can be used to create the various powers, can I create them first so that they can be immediately slotted upon unlocking them? It looks like it should be possible, but I'm afraid creating a power I've no slot for might result in nothing being created, or the like, and then I'll see my hard earned threads simply disappear into the ether.
And just to note that the level shift from Lore is an Incarnate Shift, which is only applied during the Incarnate Trials themselves. It does not apply to non-Incarnate content.

    Issue 20 badges

Just to double confirm, these are all the new badges in Issue 20, correct? Nothing else that is outside of the Incarnate Trials and new task forces?

    * I know the respec badges were "available" before and we just couldn't get them.

    Store down?

Is the in-game store down for anyone else, or just me?
  22. I think I figured out the problem. I just happened to test being defeated again and had the combat monitor open. The moment I was defeated I saw all of my IO set bonuses disappear. So, the large global recharge I have is not being used while I'm defeated. I did not know this was the case of bonuses; I wasn't aware they did not have any affect while defeated. Now I know.

Without more details about your build and slotting, we can't be sure WHY it's not recharging fast enough. What percent recharge does your enhancement window show and are you getting that 22.5% figure from the Combat Monitor?

Also, does PvP Diminishing Returns affect recharge bonuses? I don't have a clue about DR.
Hovering off the power in the Enhancement window I see it saying Recharge Time 2 min. 19 sec. The Combat Monitor then shows a Recharge Bonus of 22.5%. That's all the info I have available.

I know nothing about PvP and Diminishing Returns as well.

Thanks for this, but I'm still a bit stumped. In my current build, my character has Rise of the Phoenix recharging in 2 minutes 19 seconds. I then have 22.5% global recharge which, if my understanding is correct, should put the recharge of the power at 1 minute 47 seconds-ish. Even with this, I'm auto-sent to the med bay. I'm a little confused. I watched and it appears RotP does not recharge in enough time as the icon doesn't appear back before I'm auto-teleported.

The first time RotP is clicked, it works fine though. I rez right in place. It's the 2nd time that I use it is when I'm transported to the med bay.

    Any thoughts?
  25. So I haven't PvP'd a lot or in a long time so this may be old news and I'm just not versed, but I wanted to ask. I was in RV last night, got killed and my character has Rise of the Phoenix on it. I clicked it expecting to rez right there and poof ... was in the RV hero med bay. The Rise of the Phoenix animation played, the power was shown as used but I arrived at the med bay instead of staying on the map.

Is this working as intended? Or did I stumble onto an odd bug?
