So, do I have this Incarnate stuff right, or even close?

OK, been checking out Incarnate content today, made a couple of Alpha Slot Enhancements, and wanted to check some things that I *think* I have picked up on – if I get any of this wrong please correct me – and if I get any of this right (it could happen) please verify. Note: this is all what is true currently, who knows what we will or won’t be able to do down the line.

1) The only thing to do with Astral Merits is convert them to threads.
2) You *can* repeat BAF and Lambda countless times every day. The only limitation is that you can only be awarded 1 Empyrean Merit for each every 18 hours. But you get the same amount of threads, iXP, and end of mission rewards ach time.
3) To create a Very Rare Incarnate Enhancement, you must have created two Partial Rares of the level below, in addition to having some other junk. So basically you have to make two rares to make a very rare.
4) BAFs consist of fighting some big bads on the tennis courts, then go after escaping patients, then fighting the two big bads again.
5) You can use threads to unlock slots, they yield 3% per use?
6) If you get Inc Salvage you can’t use, you can break it down into threads.
7) You can get up to 3 level shifts so far, but only one of them works outside of the 2 Incarnate Trials.
8) The Alpha Slot Inc Recipes come in pairs – one way to do it by Shards, one way to do it by Threads and stuff.
9) The other four Inc Slots can’t be filled with Shards (without converting the shards.)
10) When you make a non tier-one IncEnhacement, it consumes the lower level one. Therefor along the way to making a Very Rare you will have to craft the bottommost common one twice to create the 2 rare partials needed or the very rare.

How's this?

Looks all correct except you don't need the Partial rares specifically to make a Very Rare - any pair of rares will do. On the right-hand side, you can scroll down and select the appropriate recipe for whichever pair you have.

Pretty much. The order of events on the BAF is kill 40, fight Nightstar, contain the escapees, fight Siege, then defeat Nightstar and Siege within 10 seconds of each other.
While the most common strategy on the BAF is to fight them on the tennis courts, there is a badge for fighting Nightstar and Siege where they spawn, instead of pulling them to the turrets blindspot

Also, the threads->iXP conversion depends on which slot you're unlocking. Judgement and Interface are about 3%, Lore and Destiny are about 2%.

And Posi did say there'll be other things to use Astral Merits for, but currently, just for threads.

As far as BAF or Lam goes, does it matter which of the four alignments you are?

I am thinking of going Hero for the Alignment power. (+Dam)

Alignments have no bearing on anything as far as Incarnates go. The BAF/Lambda trials are straight up co-op content a'la the ITF, or the Mothership Raid.

Just wanted to pull this one out to make note that you also earn Astral Merits for everything without restriction no matter how many times you run the trials during a day. If I recall correctly, at base you can earn up to 3 Astral Merits in each trial for completing the corresponding objectives. There are also Astral Merits and incarnate salvage rewards for completing some of the badge related objectives as well, which you can find on the ParagonWiki.

Main Character: Ice/Storm/Ice Controller (Justice, 1340 badges)

4 for completing the 4 major phases of the BAF: Nightstar, Tower Defense, Seige, and Seige + Nightstar. You get another astral merit for accomplishing each of the badges: Not letting any prisoners escape, Not deactivating the towers, Defeating Seige and Nightstar where they spawn, and Defeating both of them with none of their additional spawns alive, so if you have a perfect MoBAF run, you can get 8 in one.

Lamda, you get one for getting all of the grenades, one for getting all of the acids, and another for getting all of both acids and grenades. If you get an acid and a grenade within 2 seconds of eachother, you'll get another one. If you collect all of them, you get another merit for not using any of the 10 grenades, not using any of the the acids, and for not using any of either. So for a perfect master run of it, you can get 7
