Quote:I dont disagree. I actually like farming and playing the toons i put the inf into tho. I could care less about and actually let the wife do the crafting for the enh. I dont have the patience req'd to mess with it. I earn them and let her craft them. lol. Now if i didn't have to run back and forth to the base to craft it might be different. And cross referencing items needed. I earn recipes way too fast. You can make as much but not nearly as fast. And certainly not as efficiently. You'd have to spent hours upon hours farming. Marketeering relies on purchases made offline to build wealth.
I've done both and marketeering beats farming hands down. With that said, doing both in concert is faster than one alone. However, I lost patience for farming long ago even though I have several completed purpled out/PvP-IO'ed builds that can do it as efficiently as anyone would care to.
I wouldnt say it's inefficient to farm. You get to do a couple things. Chat with friends (if ur not solo), play the powerhouse toons we've built and it dont take real long to get good drops to sell to you crafters. Within 10 minutes yesterday i got a respec drop. Thats 100mil at the sell it now price on one run alone. As i said earlier, i made over 300 mil yesterday just selling stuff.
But if i or anyone liked to do both, i could imagine the inf made in a week. -
True. I guess we need a PLAYER STATEMENT forum to make everyone happy.
-
You can make just as much from farming alone. No niches needed. Just selling drops, uncrafted i've made billions and put billions into toons. Not knocking what youre doing, just saying.
Just since yesterday farming the Warrior map in PI, i've leveled a tank to 27, and made over 300mil in drops. So, to 1 bil, a decent Fire/Kin should hit the cap in less than a week. Throw in marketeering AND farming, prolly less.
Now, on a naked toon(new lev 1), no farming/marketeering, getting to the cap could take years. lol. -
Quote:There ya go, in case anyone wants to point out that this is a questions forum instead of being helpful knowing what you meant...Did I Get dcd 3 times today?
didn't the chat server had to get pulled down then reset on my main server?
cant log in now, can anyone else?
Did anyone else get dc'd from db server 2 times?
game wont let me in now, can anyone else?
all this in the time it takes to run 3 demon farms, anyone else that fast?
Are they doin this to get GR together? Anyone else think it's so it can go live? Is it bugging the hell outta anyone else?Think it'll get resolved soon? -
Same here. Just got mapserved, now cant re-enter. Blah.... Glad its only 15 a month.
-
I think /storm would play nice with it team wise. I dont pvp, so im not sure about that.
-
The pic is impressive. Thanks for the info. Off to get some xp. lol.
-
Thanks. I made the tank version. After watching Dechs vid, i knew i wanted one. I only have 1 tank after 6 years and wanted a Dark one. I have a couple of the Theft procs. Ive heard they work good. I'd love to see your build Dechs, or 1 thats as good. I have unlimited amounts of inf, so sets won't be hard to get. Thanks again for any info on them.
-
Would it be better as a tank or a scrapper? I know tanks have more HP, but scrappers do so much more damage. What i was wondenring is if i can get close to the soft cap on the scrapper if it would be as survivable as, say, my SD scrapper? Any thoughts are very appreciated.
-
Out of 36 toons, you can't find one to run with them? LOL. I thought i had altitis. lol. Just messing.
-
I'm with the others. I farm, run TF's, solo, you name it and i do it. And i do it all without a "healer".
If you want to run Emp then i'd go Fire/Emp for the stuns and imps. But personally, i'd go with a controller. Plant/Kin or /Storm are both awesome combos. Fire/Storm is a beast as well as Ill/Rad.
If you want a good buff/debuff/damage or control I'd go Cold/Ice or Ice/Cold. (it works for both troller and def)
Just my 2 cents. Good luck with whatever you choose and have fun. WB! -
I was curious about this today also so i made 2 toons to see. Both Ice/Storm variations. Both solo. The 1st ice attack on both at level 1 unslotted, the corr did more damage. I think the numbers were 11hp on the def and 19hp on the corr. I don't know where the more damage dealt is coming from for the def, unless maybe other powersets? But as for Ice attacks the Corr won to start off with raw numbers.

Quote:Cool. I'll try that. I've ran several malware scans and all have shown 0 threats. The service pack is prolly cause i reloaded my windows since the posts. I'll make sure i have the SP2 now though. Now, why would HijackThis say Vista Service Pack 1 and the CohHelper say Service Pack 2?
Either way, make sure whatever Windows you're using is up to date by going to:
Anyway, you don't have an inordinate amount of processes running in the background, though killing the MSN Toolbar, Sidebar, and all things Macromedia/Flash related would be a good thing for a gaming computer.
The other thing to check would be the anti-virus program. It may be running real time scans on one machine and not the other.
To make sure it's not a software conflict causing the 100% CPU usage, you can try to disable all other processes from running by using this tip from the NCSoft Knowledge Base:
As for as the HJT, i ran the executable download to get it to run. Right clicking still don't show the Admin option. -

I hope this is what ya need. -
I have a Katana/Regen. I love it's single target damage and built right, i don't have any problems with anything in the game.
I have an Elec/SD. It's AoE is prolly unmatched. Other than the 2 charges though, i really don't like it.
I want to try a Fire/SD and another Katana but unsure which 2ndary to go with. Maybe /Dark if Werner will send me a copy of his build. -
Quote:I tried to update the card drivers from the PC site. It must not have worked because after i went to the link that you provided, the driver date has changed. Yes, CoH Helper let me use an admin option, so does the House Call DL. Only the HJT doesn't. It gives an option to use the admin rights through notepad if im not mistaken, though.Video card drivers way out of date. Update them from nvidia site.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_wi...7.45_whql.html
Once you install HJT is should put an icon on your desktop. If you right-click and it doesn't give you the option to Run as Administrator some malware may have redirected it or even deleted the executable file. Do you get the option to Run as Administrator if you right-click on the CoH Helper file? -
I run the Hijack one but not sure what to do with it. When i start it, it tells me to right click and run as admin. When i right click, run as admin isnt an option. Now what?
I also dl'd the HouseCall scan and it said, No Threats found. -

Quote:Well, people say softcap everyday and are trying to hit it. My point is still the same. IMO<<< /fire is weak. You don't have to agree, i dont care if you do or not. It's MY opinion. And as for /dark not hitting any caps, the build below is showing a smash/lethal at 75% resist. Odd, and i still gotta remove ripper and replace with something else.Me thinks eryg2 spouts terminology off without completely understanding their meanings >.>
-Defense as opposed to secondary
-Soft cap as opposed to cap
On the topic at hand. Fire Armor is a decent set. For farming, it is better than /DA. (imo) It grants you an endurance recovery power, a heal, good resistance numbers, a second build up, slow protection, and a damage aura. DA offers a friggin awesome heal, decent resistance numbers, small defense, control auras, and a damage aura. FA isn't better by much, but the endurance recovery power is incredibly helpful. Also, FA can easily farm the Demon Map (All Fire Damage!) DA oddly enough cannot cap any resistance numbers.

Quote:Defense/Resistance.... whatever. I just meant in the general term. Scrappers secondary's is what i meant, whether it's def or res. Sorry i wasn't clear enough that some couldn't understand. IMO, /fire is still weak to most attacks other than fire. If you "need" a heal every 12 seconds... /Regen isn't even that bad.easily softcap? You honestly can't know what you're talking about. FA has no defense, and resistance doesn't softcap. You're capped, or you're not (most often, not).
just because a set is defensive, doesn't mean it gives defense. These terms are completely different. Defense is not taking damage, resistance is lowering damage taken. Defensive sets can do either or both (among other things).
And i thought 75% was the "soft cap" in resist?? So, if that's the case, you can hit 75% fire resist from fire aura. -
