  1. Yay..... if only Guy Fawkes would have been successful and those damn dirty protestants would have been kicked out of England so the catholic church could take its rightful place... yipeee!!!!!!!!!
  2. I enjoy them game, as far as MMOs go, its just about perfect for my casual game style needs.
  3. Cool, refrig pickles! I sorta do something like that when I get my big jar o' stuff together, I always lie throwing cucumbers and tomatos along with fresh garlic, a variety of hot peppers and some fresh beets. to start with, then I just add stuff and adjust the taste as I go along. Even threw in some boiled eggs one time - good stuff.

    "Are you a god?"

    Hmmm... Well, I'm working on an explanation for my tech hero...er villian at the moment. I'm toying with the idea of after much exposure to a great many magical opponents, some of that magic stuff has rubbed off and infused itself with War's armor enhancing its capability to incarnate levels of power. Or maybe I'll go with armor enhanced with previously undiscovered alien technology or maybe I'll even go with enhanced by previously undiscovered advanced alien quasi-mystical technology?????
  5. I got as note from my single player SG and VG, all it said was; "You can kill a god" - I'm really scared now

    Nevermind.

    Oh yeah its all about that which shall not be named doing something that cannot be mentioned.

    Well that is an ******, but by and large in my AO, I find tailgaters most often moving in the left lane hence my comment.

    However tailgating is also a matter of perspective, another problem in my AO are people who jump into your lane when they have the bare minimum amount of space between you and the car ahead of you abosutely soaking up every bit of proper following distance you have. The down side being that people generally hang off the rear bumper of the car in front of them with just enough space to prevent a car pulling in between basically playing follow the leader reacting to the car directly in front of them.

    If you try to maintain a proper following distance, your continually slowing down and becoming an impediment yourelf as several people exhibit that craptacular behavior.

    That brings me to one of my peeves I've just got to deal with and that is; trucks, suvs, cuvs, and minivans (cuvs and minivans to a lesser extent). When I'm driving I tend to look as far down the road as I can and that includes looking through the vehicle in front of me (no, I couldn't give a damn less that your picking your nose and your signnificant other is resting thier head in your lap) I'm more interested in planning to rather reacting to traffic and the problem with big o'l esseuvees and big ol'honk'n pick-up trucks are that they block your view and ytou have to slack off so that you can plan rather than react and this again leads to numbskulls jumping in your space.

    And heres another; folks who wait till traffic has moved a certain distance before they accelerate from a stop. I cannot fathom why people do this? Its so much more effcient to start moving with traffic and let them pull away rather stay still until a car length or two opens up. I can understand a minimum amount of space, but the length some people allow before the move is just dumbfounding.

    I seriously wonder how much fuel is wasted as cars are forced to idle while sitting through mutliple red lights in the same intersection when that many more could have passed through the light had people not sat and waited in such a manner.

    This also brings up people who seem to just idle up to speed? Granted my car does accelerate a bit quicker than the average beater but (as a true example) it shouldn't take 1/2 the distance of a road to get up to speed. Even worse these same knuckleheads sometimes go 5-10 miles over the speed limit once they get up to speed.

    Or people who wait half way through a turn lane to actually, you know pull into the turn lane?????? I've been plain cut-off several times for this. I could understand if somebody initiates the manuever before the lane actually departs for the turn, but to wait so long just irks me. That said, these some folk seem to love to slow way down while on the main road before doing so.

    Or people who get scared when they approach a tractor trailer. I know sometimes the air moving off the rig can buffet a vehicle, but why hang right on the edge of the trailer just outside the turbulent zone when you could pass them? The worst example I've seen of this occured on the way to Fayetteville NC, an escort was in front of meand a tractor trailer either was catching a helluva crosswind, or the driver was tired or drunk or there was a mechanical problem or it a was combination of all of the above. The escort was about midway along the rig and the rig cut over into our lane. Rather move ahead or back, they just stayed there (I'm guessing they were looking to make some quick cash in the odd event they actually survived the incident).

    And going back to full-sized trucks. All you guys with V8 powered full-sized pickups (V8 Tundras and V8 Titans seem to be the most guilty as well as anything with a "hemi" in it). I'm really not impressed, especially when your hanging right off my **** trying to show me "what that V8 can do good buddy".
  10. Ok, I'm the outlier here. I took in Jackass 3D for a late show. LMAO would be barely adequate. Chris Pontius as the scorpion fighting barbarian was priceless

    Much truth here, but by and large people have been programed to think that way. I found it interesting after reading an article (cant remember the location so it may not apply everywhere) but the police were taught if the accident was indeterminable to just check off speed as the cause of the accident.

    If I'm going 5-10 miles over the speed limit, and someone comes up to me and starts tailgaiting me, no matter what lane I'm in, and expecting me to change lanes, when the other lane is clear, I've sped up to the nearest car, and slowed down to matching speeds to basically upset the tailgater.
    I hate that, the left lane is for passing (and in many areas there are signs directing slower traffic to the right). More to the point, driving requires alot of situational awareness. If a person is in the left lane they should have realized well before the upcoming driver started tailgating that the vehicle was closing at a higher rate and moved over.

    And to be honest there is more to consider here, I had a brother that suffered a siezure inducing head injury and my dad rushed him to the hospital only to get stuck in the same situation. A guy in a volvo played the same manuever and stayed along side another car preventing my dad from passing. Long story short, a cop was near the hospital and the volvo driver was in trouble, not my dad.

    Which reminds me of another odd behavior, people going under the posted speed limit on a two lane road then when somebody passes them they speed up and try to prevent the other person from overtaking them - I had a friend famous for that. I really think he did it just to spite other people. Even worse, he wouldn't let them overtake even when oncoming traffic was present. (while it was on TV the same behavior led to the death of two motorist in a head-on collision and the driver who practised this behavior went to jail (and rightly so) for manslaughter IIRC).

    Another peeve of mine are people who pull out in front of you, force you to slow down and then take thier time getting up to speed. I dont care if you pull out in front of me, just have the goddamned decency to get up to speed before I get there.

    An ex-idiot roommate of mine loved to text while driving, he considered it point of pride that he could multitask while driving. The idiot refused to use the talk function on the phone even when he knew the other person was driving.

    I could go on, and I admit I'm no driving saint, but frankly I'm 50% to achieving my I Am Legend dream of being the last guy on the road. I'm just down to figuring out how to produce a zombie making virus. Sure, I'll miss some of you guys and I suppose the Cox servers will get lonely, but its a small price to pay for drinving nirvana.

    I dont know about you guys, but just like the feds, I've found the secret to everlasting wealth in the form of my kick-*** printer. So I really do get the booster content for "free"
  15. Hmmmmm.. clearly not being the superhero type ;p I'll say this, if I were in a postion to use deadly force - organic, inorganic, living, and sentient wouldn't be qualifiers on determining how much deadly force I would use. Rather I'd look at thier actions, irregardless of thier power level. Once the opponent presented a clear and dangerous threat (ie collateral damage would kill something or they are directly killing something) I wouldn't think twice about build-up + aim + total focus to the skull. It gets a little grayer when your looking at subdual. If the opponent was known for indiscriminant use of thier powers without regard for life and could easily escape containment and were repeat offenders, yeah lets see if you can escape the icy clutches of death. A barely sientient monster? Would probably still apply the same standards - lots of damage with little hope of containment, welcome to your personal extinction level event.

    Faserip

    While it might take a bit of work, the best way to set the ability range would be figure out how the numbers stack up on a comparitive basis.

    Amazing should maybe the upper limit of a six slotted power modified by single origin enhancements using the average score of 50 and super rare enhacements maybe take that to monsterous. I suppose fully optimized and when the alpha slot stuff rolls out Unearthly might capable as purely static numbers. Then again maybe fully optimized powers (best enhancers, fully buffed by other powers, alpha slotted - whatever hits the absolute cap) could or should be Unearthly.

    Once you get that comparitive range then working out how the powers effect FASERIP would be more accurate or rather it wouldn't produce god level heros flitting about Paragon as a common sight.

    Also it might be worth taking a look at iconic heros/villians and monsters in the game to help set the scale. Is a GM an unearthly level creature? Is Statesman the toughest guy in the game?

    It is tough to get a direct translation since even our normal human characters can do some amazing things like fall from the tallest structure and survive. Even the lowliest hero or villian can punch down a bank vault door given enough time (a remarkable or incredible strength material BTW) survive heat that would vaporize the strongest real world materials, ect. Shrug off radiation that would kill a normal human in minutes, ect. Then again, even the normal humans in the game can push aside the strongest heros or villians

    Faserip

    Hey Steelclaw, Munitions Mastery has Surveillance (maybe I missed it) but shouldn't that be in Intuition or Fighting or Both? MM also has Body Armor

    Anyways, this how my L50 tech blaster WarMain weighed out

    F = 32 Remarkable (Spider Man, Hulk, She-Hulk, Power Man)
    A = 83 Monsterous (Cobra)
    S = 40 Incredible (Spider Man, Power, Iron Man)
    E = 58 Amazing (She Hulk, Power Man, Storm)
    R = 116 Unearthly (Watcher, Immortus)
    I = 20 Excellent (Power Man, Nick Fury, Iron Man, Storm, Nightcrawler)
    P = 20 Excellent (Nightcrawler, Storm, Colossus)

    Les'see how I'd rate War? http://ouroportal.com/wiki/WarMain_(Pinnacle) Despite in game abilities.

    F = Remarkable (Experience + Armor System)
    A = Excellent ( Normal human ability + Armor System)
    S= Incredible ( 11 tons {normal} 17 {max} 21 {emergancy max})
    E = Monsterous (can survive in low altitude space for short periods of time)
    R = Incredible (easily Stark's equal)
    I = Excellent (Armor Sensor Systems are that good)
    P = Good (Some training with resisting mind control)

    Sad, and from what I understand, she was trying to break into the business. On one hand it was certainly her choice to do this and if they followed all the work place safety precautions then its just bad luck for her. On the other hand if they failed to do as they should have done, Bay and the studio should get thier just rewards.

  22. Yeah time>money. About 4 years ago I was putting in 60+ hours a week 6-7 days a week and was getting 5 weeks off a year due to my time with my company. The day I was so damn tired that I failed to notice a redlight, ran through it and almost t-boned a family in a volvo going through the green light I decided to tell my boss I wanted out. Especially when the same job level coworkers were getting 2 and 3 days off (during holidays).

    I've met precious few people that can function like that day in and day out - they certainly deserve thier success, but sometimes I have to wonder at what cost???
  23. Dark Watcher, and its a fun mission (well right up to the part I had to find the door to finish it). Really enjoyed clearing the platform.

    Don't get me wrong: I don't know what I'd choose. It's purposely impossible and designed to make you feel like you chose the wrong answer.

    Still... that was weird.
    I gave it some thought, and in the end, I say that one person is worth any ten people you dont know (to be honest at one time there was somebody in my life that was easily worth the sum of every other person on the planet, so I guess when it came down to it, the choice was an easy one).

    While being a hero is mostly selfless sacrifice, you gotta draw the line somewhere, or else you end up like this guy @ about 4:00 in

    On the otherhand, I wouldn't have a problem putting my life on the line for even one person (the caveat being of course how it would effect that special someone, if my death would lead to thier's it would be a much harder choice to make).
