Im using Energy/ as my Primary and will be teaming for most of this toon (hopefully).
I hate having no END during combat, especially when the rest of the team is still kicking so Ill prob end up getting Stam at level 20 and DP at 22/24.
Also with some Melle team mates they should be able to hold agro while I run in and DP the mobs.
I normally dont start getting serious INF until my 30's and I can always respec or dual-build if I find having DP and STAM is too much (hahahaha). -
Hi all,
this is my first Blaster (normally play on Red side) and wondering if its better to have Drain Psyche for my regen/recovery or get Health and Stamina instead...
I know that DP is a Pbaoe power so I need to hit enemies with it whilein melee range but at the same time it is 1 power vs 2 and is a 75% regen/recovery Boost vs 40%/25%.
Im sure have all 3 would be awesome but that is for later in the game.
Cheers -
At the very least there should be multiple "pre-set" minions types available as in:
Tier 1:
--Set 1 - Male
--Set 2 - Male
--Set 1 - Female
--Set 2 - Female
This would need to remember which Option you have chosen but as this is already is use for any weapon-based power (ie: As a Stalker I chose Ninja Blade. Whever I use a Nin power it doesnt summon the Fantasy Blade it summons the Ninja Blade) I hope its not too hard to implement. -
Indice IS the cocktail waitress...

If Indice is going im not.....

After repeatedly seeing posts asking about removing the SoA Crab Legs I decided to create this post in the hopes that it gets created as a Sticky for this forum so we dont get the same post every week or two.
Q: When do I get the Crab Legs?
A: When you reach level 24 or higher and chose any "Crab Power".
Q: What is a "Crab Power"
A: Any power that comes from a Crab pool (primary or secondary).
Q: What if I take a Crab power that does not use the backpack?
A: Tough. It is a Crab power and you get the backpack (assume that even though there is no backpack animation the backpack "powers" the power.
Q: What about dual-builds where my primary build is a Crab but my secondary is a Bane?
A: Your 2nd build will still get the legs.
NOTE: this was meant to be fixed but at time of writting still wasnt.
Q: If I respec can I get rid of them? (thanks Tealeaf)
A: Respec out ALL Crab powers on both builds. A single Crab power on either build will retain the backpack/legs (see Q above)
Please feel free to add commonly asked questions about the Crab Backpack and their answers.
If any of the above is outdated/incorrect (oops) please correct me and I will update the OP.
MODERATORS: Can we please make this a Sticky. -
Does anyone have a recent WM/Inv build using non-purple IO's?
Ive got a lvl 24 WM/Inv and and fairly new to IO slotting and want to try to understand the WHY's of it, not just do what other people have done because they have done it.
Cheers -
I see your point.
Maybe then have it as a 5th or 6th slot bonus that applies a "+5% Crit chance on all Crit powers" like there is for "increase all hold durations by 5%". This way it will only affect those powers that can already score a Crit and wont affect other AT's.
And MrLiberty I agree the 5% End Red would need to be a Unique also otherwise people could get up to 25% End Red by stacking it on 5 Powers (depending on what sets allow this bonus). -
Hi all thanks for your ideas/responces.
Yes I can see 10% maybe too much. Didnt really think about overall percentages/values was just after an overall approach. Having this available in an early level IO Set would also help the early 20's when Stam isnt slotted or even taken (Im not a fan of the idea that for a lot of AT options you <quote>"HAVE TO TAKE STAMINA"</quote>).
Umbral im not much of a CoX numbers man so I dont understand where those numbers come from (trying to see different points of view).
I can understand that allowing all AT's a Crit Chance makes the Scrapper/Stalker Inherent no longer "special".
Instead maybe make it a Unique (only 1 such proc per character) that only increases 1 powers chance to crit.
My reasoning behind this is whenever I play a Corr I see a lot more "SCOURGE" than I do "CRITICAL" when I play a Scrapper.
Thanks again -
Hi all have been thinking about this lately and I wouldnt mind seeing the following 2 IO Set Bonuses added:
1) Global End Reduction - something like 10% reduction on the End Cost of all powers. Probably the 5th or 6th item of the set
2) Increased Chance of Critical Hit (Proc or Set Bonus) - grants a 5-10% chance to land a critical hit (adds 5-10% if you already have a Critical Chance like a Scrapper).
Feedback appreciated and desired -
For mitigation KB is prob the most "realistic". You get shot and you fall down. Would be good if it could be knockDOWN instead of knockback.
The electrocution animation JDouble mentioned is also prob the best idea for a quick firing attack, or maybe the Flurry/Sands of Mu animation where u get punched 8 times.
Another could also have a stun duration ("Ohhh damn that hurt I cant move").
Problem with having "Beams" rather than "ballistic" is that it changes the damage type from Lethal to Energy.
I also like JDoubles idea of making the set like DB with combo's. Not sure about the Toxic/Fire DoT but Lethal DoT/Weaken is defiantley doable
(Drops in 5c coin) -
How soon after closing CoV the first time do you close the 2nd window?
When I close Cov (1 account only) it can take up to 30 seconds for my pc to return to normal speed (Q6600 @ 2.75GHz, 2Gb DDR2, 8800GT).
MAYBE its due to the first application still being released from memory (and taking up a lot of resources as it does) and then you clsoe the 2nd app and it overloads.
Maybe try closing the first, leave it for 1-2 mins and then close the 2nd. Just for a test. -
Hi all, this is my first attempt at taking a Tank all the way to 50 (first Hero to 50 actually) and I need some advise on Slottings and IO Sets.
Im not after perma-rage or an AV solo build, just something that can take plus give plenty of damage.
Here is my plan so far (feel free to advise changes to the powers/slots and levels they were taken):

<<EDIT - added Mids Code>>
Thanks in advance -
WOW this is great !!!
.
Im at work at the moment so cant try out something ive been thinking about for ages.
Is it possible to have a macro do more than 1 command?
Ie: "Summon_Pets" = summons my BattleBots, pauses while power completes, summons my ProtBots, pauses while power completes, summons AssaultBot.
Basically so I can summon all my MM pets with 1 click. -
Id like an option to be able to run a trial of my new costume before going live (and spending the Inf/Free Tailor).
This would have to be a limited time (like 5 mins) either on the real server.
Alternatively a "special instance" of a random location (city, forest, caves, etc).
After the limited time expires it takes you back into the tailor screen. Or if you use the "instance" option you can stay there for as long as you want but noone else can enter that instance (like when I enter a door for a mish, that is my mish).
Why?
Because what I design in the tailor looks different in the "real world". It is also impossible to know what ur aura will look like when u turn on some powers that also apply an aura-like effect (ie: Fortification, Unyielding, etc).
Also having a black aura (personal or item) is very hard to see on a black background. Try having black flames or black lightning...
Also the lighting is different, you can zoom in and out and rotate all around in the "real world".
Try the Ulterior set with black and white and you get a large black hole on the middle of your buttocks
Or the medieval armor where there is an arrow pointing down just above your nether-regions. -
I most often use it to clear the mobs from around a boss so me and/or my team can focus on the main dude.
Also I use it when the agro from a team mate goes horrbly wrong and/or the Brute dies, or to pull agro off a team mate getting spanked.
I used it this way last night on the Valkyri mish where the brute ran up a ramp into a group of LB and got killed while we were all attacking. The DOM was getting heaps of agro and was popping greens so I dropped Venom then Omega. The ones that werent taunted kept of firing but that was less than half.
When it goes BOOM (I always type BOOM when it explodes - keep on meaning to make that into a /Bind) almost all the Lt's are dead and those that are not have less than 1/4 health so we can mop them up easily.
Its good as a OHH CRAP power and also to clear up mobs. Always drop Venom before if you can for that exta 20% dam.
Like Energy_Aura said follow with Suppression or other AoE's (or even during the OM count down) and enjoy.
I have done a Stalker to 50 and while the ST damage was great, doing AoE damage is just so much more satisfying -
Hi all,
here is my current Crab Build (just got to lvl 43 and havnt filled in my newest slots yet).
I find that with this toon as is I can take on a CIM mish with purple bosses without dieing (1 at a time of course) :P.
I dont have any Melee atacks as I used my 12 month VET reward power for Sands of Mu, but even then I rarely use it.
If I have some mobs hitting me in melee I normally use my Frag Grenade to KB or recently the Spirit Shark Patron attack.
Obviously I am part way through getting IO sets but as it is my attack chain is rarely ever with a delay between attacks.
The actual level I took the slots is not 100% correct as I cant remember what slots I took at what levels.

I absolutely LOVE my Crab Spider.
Im about to hit level 37 but already this is my favourite toon.
I am mainly using Ranged powers. The only melee (apart from Brawl - yawn) is my 12 month VET award Sands of Mu. If I didnt have this id have prbly gone for Arm Lash.
When it comes to Minions and Lts' I kick the proverbial.
My chain is: Wide Area Web + Venom Grenade + Frag Grendade + Suppresion + Channelgun + LongFang + Channelgun (it recharges fairly quickly).
Ive got all 3 Tactical Trainings + Crab Spider Armor + CT: Def + Fortification (which gives you a free aura as well).
Serum I use when im getting hit hard - mainly only if im teaming withour a Tank as the SoA 200% Threat tends to agro a lot. Thats the only downside as I use a lot of AoE attacks.
Bosses are also fairly straight forward and not a problem.
On a team it is simply fantastic. All the mobs (Minions+Lts) are either dead or half dead after the initial chain. Sometimes I dont even get to finish the Chain (depending on the level of the team).
Add in a 2nd Crab with at least Venom+Frag+Suppresion and .... WOW. Thats all I can say - WOW.
You dont see many Crabs but if they take the Tactical Training powers grab them for your team.
I do need 2-3 STAM slots for all my Toggles + attack chain but I rearly ever run out of END unless its a very long fight and im using my attacks as soon as they recharge. Even then its a long time before i need to use a Blue insp.
I have hover and have just started hovering during combat to force mobs to use Ranged attacks against me and I get hit way less, although END does drain faster.
I also dont have any travel power apart from Sprint and Hover. With Run, Sprint and Mental Training with 1 Running SO each I run faster than the Raptor Backpack.
I havnt done a Bane Spider yet (my last toon was a Stalker so wanted something different) nor a Widow.
All in all Crab Spiders rock. Get 2+ on a team and O.. M.. G..
