Hi all,
First off, I've read a few of the guides by Captain and Angry_Citizen so I get the gist of Nin. I've also leveled a few kat/sr scappers...I'm mostly playing solo, pve content.
But, most of the builds I see forego stamina quite late (30 or so). This seems quite late? Any advice or suggestions?
Secondly, I also see a difference in when to take placate. Some (Captain_Yar_Har) take it early. But, I've seen some builds take it in the 30s.
I would think getting an early attack chain is the most important thing for leveling into the 20s and that foregoing placate seems plausible. But, I'm pretty certain I would have Endurance troubles if I waited till the 30s to take Stamina.
Thanks for any help you can provide. -
I'm just beginning to plan out my First Brute after having a few Scrappers. So, pardon me if my question is uninformed.
It seems as if hasten is taken quite a bit by SS. Hasten isn't always required on some */SD scrappers (at least what i've been looking at and used)
Having not played extensively on red side, doesn't only taking Super Speed as a travel power create some issues with vertical travel? Or, is this hole just provided by the temp travel powers?
I've been looking at this post for a bit and was just curious.

This is my first brute. After reading through just about every SS/SD, SS/* and */SD thread for the first 20 pages of the forum it seems like an interesting build with good ST and decent AOE.
i've essentially played a myriad of scrappers using Kat, DM, FM, WP and SR. I just can't get back into a build yet so I wanted to give a Brute a try.
I'd be starting out with zero inf, would play mostly solo and look at hitting red side PVE content as much as possible. I've read that SS/SD is still AV viable, although expensive. That doesn't worry me too much though.
So, as a leveling character, I get that I'm gonna have early end issues, will have to perma rage, with hasten etc. I'm so impatient with painful leveling, ADHD acting up again. But, with just general IOs and SOs, will it be viable to level or somewhat painful?
Also, any ideas on leveling builds would be awesome. Most of what I've seen are end game builds. Even out of ThugsRus' guide it seems to be geared toward end game, although the lvl 40 build seems to maybe be a leveling build, but it was a bit unclear and I honestly have no idea if it is or not.
Thanks ahead of time for the help -
I'm working to try and make my first /SD character. I've chosen to go with FM b/c it's another power I haven't tried out yet. With SD does Air superiority cause a redraw animation?
Also, I've got a basic understanding of trying to slot FM but I have no clue about SD. Everything I see is with expensive IOs and I will likely lvl up with on SOs.
I plan this to be an overall generall build, able to solo, group and a bit of aoe as well.
Any help would be appreciated on how to finish out the slotting or make changes to the build.
Thanks

Hi all,
I'm just recently back to the community and I'm sorting out a few new toons in an attempt to determine what my main will be. My general build will be focused on soloing, leveling and some teaming...so just some general all around stuff. I am starting over and don't have much Inf so I will be mostly on SOs for now.
A few questions I have relevant to DM and SR leveling
Do you believe that Shadow Maul is required or more beneficial than taking SP and Smite?
I guess slotting SL for Heals would help more as a soloing character?
As far as SR goes I guess that I could likely put Focused Senses off until my teens in order to get a good early attack chain going? But would really want Practiced Brawler when available to give the mez protection.
I know by the mid-teens I started to run into End issues with my DM/WP do you think going for Stamina early versus a travel power will give me fits?
I know, a lot of noob questions. But I haven't seen much traffic devoted to a leveling strategy only AV soloing. I want to worry about AV soloing..but I need to get to 50 first and would like to get a little knowledge along the way..
Thanks! -
Hi all,
Just back to the game, don't want to hijack the thread but...Why no touch of fear? has there been some significant changes? I haven't played CoH in quite some time (like since issue 5)
Thanks -
Hi all,
I've just re-installed CoH onto my laptop and I'm having issues with the screen size. When I get to the character selection screen, the screen appears too small (the display area is cut off by the screen)
I've tried to change the resolution to every option available and all it does is change the size of the display area, it will not fix the
issue of displaying the entire load screen.
Does this have anything to do with the aspect ration of the screen?
Here is a screenshot of what it looks like, this has not been cropped at all.

It also changes the resolution of my computer until I close CoH then it reverts to normal.
Thanks ahead of time

hi all,
i've been on a hiatus from COH since 05 and amjust coming back. i've been playing other MMORPGs since and came back yo give COV and stalkers a try.
I used to be exclusively a scrapper, but after reading the guide i started on a build, MOSTLY focused on PVE.
My concern here is the lack of attacks early. Is that really an issue with stalkers?
My other question has to do with toggles, do most of yourun all toggles all the time or is that a bit oo overkill for a stalker?
here is the build i'm starting with, slotting will adapt over time but will stay with mostly end redux in toggles and dmg, acc, redux and regen in attacks..
oh another question, is stamina as critical for a stalker as other ATs?
