Display will not fit?

Hi all,
I've just re-installed CoH onto my laptop and I'm having issues with the screen size. When I get to the character selection screen, the screen appears too small (the display area is cut off by the screen)

I've tried to change the resolution to every option available and all it does is change the size of the display area, it will not fix the
issue of displaying the entire load screen.

Does this have anything to do with the aspect ration of the screen?

Here is a screenshot of what it looks like, this has not been cropped at all.

It also changes the resolution of my computer until I close CoH then it reverts to normal.

Thanks ahead of time

Hmm... This isn't an aspect ratio problem, or at least isn't JUST an aspect ratio problem. Even the incorrect ratio would still fit into the screen, it would just be stretched or squashed. Are you using a resolution different to what you have on your desktop? Perhaps your picture in that resolution is just not set up well.

If you're on a laptop, I'm afraid I don't know where the controls for that are, but there should be a way to order your LCD to automatically detect picture position and dimensions and make it fit the viewable area of the screen. I'm not sure where those controls would be, though, and you'll probably have to go through some kind of laptop functional key combination that's probably unique to your manufacturer.

Beyond that, I'm stumped and you'll need someone with a bigger brain than mine

Consider yourself lucky that you can run the game at all. Such an integrated GPU is below minimum specs for the game. A real Graphics Card* upgrade will do *wonders* for your gaming experience.

In the meantime, go to your manufacturer's website and see if there are updated drivers for your motherboard chipset, GPU, CPU, BIOS.

Use Tweak CoH. Under the Display Tab go to Display Mode and uncheck Fullscreen and check Maximized, then Apply.

*Graphics Cards:

Graphic Processor Unit manufacturers (nVidia and ATI) create a range of GPU chips that range from simply showing pictures and basic video, to rendering the high-end 3D graphics polygons, textures, and special Graphical FX. For nVidia, the second number of the series number will tell you how powerful the GPU is in rendering high-end graphics from 0 to 9. So, you may have numbers like: 5000, 7200, 6500, 8800, 290. The graphical savvy of those GPUs are, respectively: 0, 2, 5, 8, 9. To do 3D gaming right, it should be 6 or higher. The first number indicates the generation. The current nVidia generation is 9000 or 200. Last year it was 8000, and before that 7000 and so on. For CoH, you shouldn't go back past 6000.

Lastly, the suffixes go (roughly) GTX > GTS> Ultra > GT >GS > (nothing) > LE

Before you get a graphics card, you'll need to make sure your power supply has enough juice to power it.

Its a laptop ZM, he can't add a graphics card. He does have enough memory though, so once he resolves the display problem he has a shot at playability.

Good luck.
