Quote:LOL, with that said to bad your post does not have much to do with what im talking plz reread my post thx.I've only seen this self destruct power happen a few times in person, EVERY time it's been used in my presence, it was annoying. Even one time the guy used it as a panic button and it actually took out one of the enemies that was kicking our butts. Still, the battle was lost already and his explosive sacrifice only added to the absurdity of the moment.
I do not see a time when it would be feasible to use this power. Whether it's taking yourself out as a bomb in the first skirmish, when things get dicey, halfway through a mish, even when up against the big bad at the end, there's never a strategically sound reason for using this power, when there's always another, better option. It's the dumbest power in the entire game. Yes that includes the snowball, cuz the snowball is just stupid fun and never gets old. Or seeing someone accidently hit the fire extinguisher in the middle of a fight cuz he was just mashing buttons as fast as he could and would there went control 6 or whatever and we all see the fire extinguisher. We've all done it. Blowing yourself up is dumber than that.
And the self destruction power is not just any kind of annoying. Half the time I don't even realize that's what transpired until seconds after it occurred, and I'm like, "..oh. ...that. whatevs." It's annoying in a 'chewing gum on the sole of your shoe' kind of way. It's not till you take a few steps away that you realize hey! that was annoying! If people actually use this to grief others? That's just sad. That's going into a gun fight with a small bowl of rotting fruit.
You're taking the time to macro this? Wow. Can't just point & click, eh? Wow.
the point of the post and the macro was to do something that the game may not allow yet it still not breaking the rules of play.
well it did not work but that just means that that 1 failer with several more idea's too go -
Quote:nope my macro skills is lacking and some times the powers don't always work with macro's how you/me think they might work. lol nah that more of a hey people get bored with doing things same old same old which is the only reason i included my e-peen as you called it.
As an aside, and with no malice, but lol you throwing down your badge e-peen. LOL, I say. Had you the experience you attest to, I should have thought you'd know the answer to not only your original query, but also to why I would beg that you not engage in activity that would have been prevelent even 4 of your vet badges ago.
yea i tested it and while it looked good on paper the result was meh, so on to the next project. hmm maybe a macro to teleport hostages around or did they make them non-teleport. -
-
Quote:thanks you, i did not think it would grief anyone thanks for the heads up, i just tried it not as fun as i though it would be owell back to the drawing boardI can come up with a reason. This sort of activity reeks of griefing.
Other players before have used logging out + activating powers in order to grief various zones, such as dominators / controllers logging out or disconnecting while in Pocket D with their pets spawned, causing the pets to go active and attack opposing players.
Even if that's not your intent, there might be one or two applicable exploits to be found in combining certain power usages with logging out / disconnecting at the right time.
Speaking for myself, I am a bit puzzled as to why somebody would want to log out on a self-destruct and log back in to find themselves dead. If I wanted to do that, I'd go trigger the log out after jumping into Lusca's arms. -
Quote:no i just did not understand why he/she though it was a bad idea? to be blunt with all of you are really do not care if anyone else see me doing it, although i see your point it is more of a distraction to others such as yourself is that correct? Why he did? to voice his opinion. Why you responded like that? Not sure, keep it civil.
It IS kind of annoying when someone plants themselves next to an auctioneer, then explodes while logging out(I'd bugged it many times until I learned it was being done deliberately). The novelty wears outs quickly. It starts to remind me of a spastic child, who has had too much sugar, and vies for attention: "lookitmelookitmelookitme!"
np i can do it on top of a building, inside a building, hmm maybe in the water no i dont want any green eggs and ham...........oh wait what where am i. oh right odd power use, since im a almost 5 year vet things can get a little old.
i look for ways to change the game for myself so when i saw that i though interesting idea. -

i want to create a macro that as im logging out i self destroy myself using cyborg power set any idea's?

Quote:agreed, but we will have to wait it will be intresting what they whip up for people who can not go vill or hero (for those who can not see there char switching)Not everyone's a badger. I am, obviously, and will be switching sides almost entirely for an excuse to grab some sweet, delicious badges. Collecting badges makes my OCD demons quiet down.
The rewards for not switching include a new "power up" system that they've given us absolutely zero confirmed information for, other than the fact that it exists and is associated with staying loyal to your faction. If the old marketting survey is even partially correct, the best we can assume is that it will include global enhancement slots, allowing you to boost some global stat for your character...
...while simultaneously nerfing Accuracy, Defense and Regen.
Note that a red name commented in the now-deleted Issue 16 Beta forums that switching sides will NOT exclude you from earning these rewards, but that you will earn them at a slower rate than someone who does not switch. (My guess is that switching sides also resets your progress on this "power up" system to zero, but that's just a hypothesis.) -

first this weapon is from wow (world of warcraft) now i get this post pulled because of that but i dont know of any other game out there with talking swords?
i would love to see some sort of cursed items in city of x so i will start with sword im thinking of some sort of broadsword.
The Corrupted Ashbringer
http://pc.ign.com/dor/objects/16985/...er_121109.html
blade Frostmourne
http://pc.ign.com/dor/objects/954150...er_120809.html
maybe the mobs you kill follow you around i dont know i just like the idea of the sword talking to you telling you do things i so go do a TF for that and or a SF.
or whatever the new area will call them -
On further though I will take quantum mechanics saying that they found out that just by looking at something changes the outcome of that something. So that means looking at fun changes the outcome into a new fun.
example: fun is XP then you will have the most fun gaining xp but when you think it is no fun then fun changes into something. Which explains why people get into fights because there fun's are so incompatible with each other -
as I was testing a build on some Cimeroran I was thinking about fun. Why should I play any game or do anything and in most cases it is because I have fun (really I blame tim ferriss).
This post started off as a post about how you change over time when doing anything. That seemed to evolve into what is fun why im I playing city of X.
So here it goes I still rem my first char named bzald I still have him too. My goal was to create a bad beeping summoner. So I went ill/storm since this was in beta I did try different builds I'm still leaning towards a ill/rad oh but it seem to fit well.
So fun back then was one) xp and Two) creating a bad beeping summoner. Fast forward to today I've been playing a claw/will brute for about 40 hours now and two things are fun for me.
One) the Rularuu claws and the vanguard claws morph into
Two) creating different custom's/macro's and messing with size changing. While playing around with the Cimeroran oh
Three) could I create a build that would beat Cimeroran 6 or highter out of 10 times.
One of my long term fun goals would be to max out Influence/Infamy by take a char from one too 50th after draining all the money from my other char's. And then when I reach 50th I will then transfer that money too the next build etc until I max out money. From there I start over until either I get tried or max out all my builds.
As you can see my current fun build has changed over time im still having fun with all of the above and should last into 50th im not sure what build I want to do next.
Do I really have a point not really just as the title says some food for though about fun. A tip would be this keep notes not a lot of people do this in most cases you just get on and play for a hour and leave. What if oh you get a day off and you choice to spend your time playing what then? -
Quote:this what is the reason to be a gray guard so too speak? oh well time will answer everthingOk, so. If I'm one of the gray options(Rogue/Vigilante)... Why would I bother going over efully?
I mean, the markets are more or less the same(Selling the same stuff, not quantity). And if that's the only difference then why wouldn't I stick near the middle and enjoy both side's content?
UNLESS there's more? Oh please tell me there's more.
I would love to see something like... the PPD attacking Vigilantes?
Maybe contacts on the one side don't talk to you? At least the pure evil/Boyscout guys. Only the "gray" contacts will deal with you? Maybe some new contacts get scattered about the zones with some "gray" content.
What I'm saying is... If market accessibility is the only thing that differs Rogues from Vigilantes... Why be anything other then a Vigilante(For the hero market)?
If you're a Hero or Villain, when compared to the new options. The only difference is you can't team with as many people or see as much content.
Doesn't that make the new options vastly superior to the old? -
Quote:that really sums up how i feel also, but as far as this game or any mmo going under is highly unlikely. Google huxla to see what i mean (is that huxla with a A or a e i forgot). it been in pre-production for awhile not sure when alfa started.Paragon Studios' motto is "we'd rather give you entirely new zones than revamp the old zones". This is an approach that's focused on pleasing existing customers at the expense of incoming new customers, and it shows with GR.
Something that a lot of older MMOs have been doing is "revamping the new user experience". LotRO has done work on the early level zones to streamline the quest lines and make it more obvious where a character needs to go at which level. WoW is gearing up to wipe the entire world clean and start again. Even Fallen Earth, in the first month after launching, has made changes to the early level zones to account for player feedback.
Most players agree that the 1-20 game in CoH is somewhat stale and lacking. Since the game launched, there's been some updates to the first three zones (Atlas, Galaxy and King's Row) as well as a small makeover for the Hollows. However, the contact progression is still in the same state it was at the game's launch - a whole bunch of interchangable non-characters who send you on endless street-sweeping missions and to doors in distant zones (before you've gotten a travel power, and there is nothing to indicate that there is a way of getting a jetpack to make travel faster).
Paragon Studios' answer? Make an entirely new early game that requires an additional purchase, and leave the existing early game exactly as it is.
New subscribers are not going to compare the best of your content to the competition. They are not going to buy the game, and then buy the expansion, in order to see the better starting experience. They are going to start playing the game to see if they like it, and they are going to wind up in the Steel Canyon and Skyway content, and in the Mercy Island/Port Oakes mess redside. And they are going to compare *that* to other games.
(Granted, those areas still compare favorably to the Champions early game, but that's no reason to get complacent.)
I love what I'm hearing of Going Rogue so far. I'm looking forward to playing my Praetorian characters in the all-new early game together with all my long-time-playing SGmates. But I realize that while making new early game is fun for me, remaking the *existing* early game is important for the health of the game. I'm willing to accept not getting as many all-new zones if that's what it takes.
So if that game can still get funding and it does not have any sub's im not sure what would stop any mmo.
For that matter check out Love one person is making the game so we shall see but i dought that this game will close because of that.
now back to playing Dragon Age: origins<-------very good game btw -
nice will try it out since im all see sig
-
i did a search but did not see this listed.
basically phasing is seeing something the other player don't see like the npc that is not there too one player while the other player see it just fine. would say more but battery getting low you can goggle it phasing and wow.
two examples i would do is:
1) faultline players walk in they see like it is now after doing several quest it becomes fully repaired.
2) shadow shard players walk in and see the shard all messed up like it is now they do several quest and you end up with a new landmass that has a huge dome city.
maybe a phasing where you a island for the monsters in city of x i really hope that going rogue uses this a lot. i may not be able to respond after this because im using the free game time to do this.
im sure some players can come up with better idea's what to phase and what not to -

And right there is why it's a good idea to weight votes based on how much of the arc one sees. And as a subnote why it might be prohibitively difficult for folks to make it to the hall of fame.
[/ QUOTE ]
No. No, it's still not.
If your mission is absolutely terrible, why should I waste my time finding out if you suddenly learned how to spell 3 missions in?
A good writer grabs you from minute one, and in the loose shared content we're talking about, the onus should really be on the creator, not the audience.
[/ QUOTE ]
i though what you said was interesting, out of 100% of writers how many are going to be able to grab you. lets say that a large amount 20% so for every 10 people 2 people will be able to grab you.
btw what do you mean by grab as a example would it be something like this: her eye's darted left to right frantically searching the shadow, the butcher knife felt very heavy in her hands a drop of cold sweet hit the sharp blade where was he at.
i wonder how flexible the system is hmm? -
i love what i see so far although are maps searchable meaning if i know there is a floating crystal in one. will i be able to narrow it down to all maps with crystal's in them?
