Ok,

So, I'm looking at Thermal and the only power that I see has a -regen is Heat Exhaustion. Quite frankly, the main reason why I'm considering thermal is because of the bigger aoe heal (no hit check required) and heat exhaustion. I just don't know how good or reliable the power is. Without enhancements, it apparently takes 120s for the power to recharge before I can use it a second time.

Also, folks in game have suggestions that a reason why dark may be weaker than therm late game is because, somehow, the dark debuffs are just not as strong at higher levels. I'm not sure how true that is.

Which do you like more? Which is better for killing AVs? Which is stronger in pvp?

I've played dark a lot and know what that's like but I've NEVER played Therm. How good is heat exhaustion really?

Yea, I think it's going to be a very long time before I level another /pnz toon. Thanks for the suggestion though. I know how deadly poison is.

I know that bots/traps can get to the soft cap for defense. Is that the same with thugs/traps?

but wouldn't that be the case with thugs as well?

is grav/kin effective in pvp? is there enough juice to kill fast moving heroes/villains? This sound intriguing to me and I may make one.

I'm leveling both and so far, bots/traps "feels" weaker to me. It also seems like it takes longer to kill the mobs. I was hoping that bots/traps was good in pvp because it's nonetheless more fun to play one that thugs/traps - because I role play on my bots.

I know, i know, not much role playing goes on in coh these days but that's also why it's more fun.

Please help me decide. I feel that thugs would be more damaging allowing me to kill faster (especially in pvp) but bots would be more survivable and so it's a tough choice.

I'm just trying to find another mm that I can enjoy through like about 40 levels (which is usually the time I start another toon).

would thugs/traps fair better?

I'm thinking about making a Merc/Traps MM for PvP. Notwithstanding that MMs aren't viable in PvP, what's the best primary to Pair with Traps.

Also, regardless if Merc isn't the best primary, is it nonetheless a good combination for that purpose?

I know Mercs have their issues (low-damaging, medic issues, etc) but I was wondering how good Mercs/Traps was. I guess there are better synergies out there such a bots/traps but somehow Mercs seem more fun to play.

Also, any idea how the combination fairs in PvP?

Hi,

I'm thinking about making an elec/psi dom. How is the damage on the toon. Is it effective in pvp? Also, is there a better combination of where I can take away somebody's end and still kill them.

Finally, is Elec/Ice more potent because of the -rech as opposed to the -end?

Why exactly do you recommend a Demon/Dark MM? I'm one and am interested to know how well they fair against a regen scrapper.

My secondary right now is dark. I figure that with two pets healing me, I should be able to stay alive longer. I'm going to try to stick in there. I'm actually level 13 right now lol. For some reason, I thought that I was 15.

I came back to the game because i wanted to try demon summoning. I'm currently leveling 15 and feel as if my pets are under-performing. They seem weak with no real utility. Maybe I'm missing something. I know with necro, the pets have -acc, with mercs, the pets have good mez/holds, etc. I'm not sure I know the utility of the demons, although I think one of the pets is supposed to be able to heal me.

Anyway, I'm just hoping it gets better - in an enjoyable kind of way.

Nah, I'd like a pvp build that uses IO sets while I level up.

I hate being so torn and right now i'm torn between necro/dark for the -tohit goodness or ninja/dark for whatever it is ninja/dark is good at

wow excellent post....now, if you could just do the same comparing necros and ninjas I would really appreciate it. I'm fairly certain i might go dark...and I'm just trying to decide between ninjas and necros.
