Merc/Traps?
Well, it works pretty good in PvE (or did, the present AI issues screw up ranged henchmen). It's no Bots/Traps, but Mercs are only weak by MM standards.
I never PvP, so I can't answer that.

Just hit level 35 on mine. It's not too great in the damage department, but it's solid. With the i19 inherent fitness, I could pick up Aid Self/Other for a decent self heal and the ability to heal my Medic on the fly.
Other than that? It's been kinda meh. Useful, but not awe-inspiring.

would thugs/traps fair better?
No! Thugs do too much knockback.
I played a mercs/traps to the late 20s and then got bored with it.
Thugs/Traps is great. High damage, the Enforcer's Defense aura stacks with Force Field Generator, and I've never noticed a major problem with knockback. Especially since they fiddled with the Bruiser a while back.

All the pistols do kb. I had issues with them knocking foes off my tarpatch all the time.
Well, don't take the pistols then, they aren't worth it anyway.

Hi,
I know Mercs have their issues (low-damaging, medic issues, etc) but I was wondering how good Mercs/Traps was. I guess there are better synergies out there such a bots/traps but somehow Mercs seem more fun to play.
Also, any idea how the combination fairs in PvP?
