    E.V.I.L. Returns

Aye tis a shame to see the population as low as it currently is in Cov anyway, popped on CoH last night and atlas was fairly busy, lets hope things will pick up now that summer has pretty much gone
  4. Sadly it seems as if my current Hero SG has all but died so am looking for a new home, so if theres any SG's out there currently recruiting and currently active, let me know, am a lvl 45 BS/regen scrapper btw, mainly into pve, but do a little bit of pvp from time to time.
  5. Pretty sure its random m8, a lot of time they come fairly regularly sometime you can do a mish with maybe only one or two crits, dunno if it's just me but a lot of the time it always seems to crit on parry
  6. hehe m8 now whos copying
thats not my actual build atm, but will be what I respec into, atm it's pure PvE no tactis etc.

Still not sold on tp though, thinking about it I have on my stalker as he's squishy, scrappers are a lot harder so no need to run away as much, may try a SS/CJ combo as that will bring hasten up a lot sooner.
  7. blackbone

    Claws/EA =P

if your planning on pvp at all i'd steer clear of claws, they're probably the worst stalker primary in pvp
  8. my longest is probably around 20 mins, though i'm not sure you could class it as stalk, he could see me quite easily and insisted on trying to tp me into the hero base, after 20 minutes of him constantly trying i got bored with the fact he didnt realise he could do it (etropy shield FTW), so i tp'd him out the base and killed him, then spent the rest of the night doing the same

    It didnt even get boring
  9. I rolled my 1st scrapper at the beggining of last week, currently it's built for pure PvE only and at level 24.

Ideally i'd like her to be able to do well in sirens, warburg and RV, so comments on build please, i think i'm pretty happy with the powers (ok TP isn't my favorite travel power but it's not surpressed) not so sure on the slotting.

Will FA be ok with only 1 end red as i have both quick recovery and stamina 3 slotted with end mod's?

quiet here, quiet in cov, our board etc etc, just wait till I7 things will pickup very quickly, if the amount of people trying out thugs and electric brutes on the test server is anything to go by. Shame really, i'd be in cov but quite frankly i'm pretty fed up levelling scutter atm, and team quality is pretty low atm for levelling either my brute or corruptor....so this week i will mostly be levelling my scrapper
  11. I think it's just going to be about time, eventually once we're the same level as the heroes, then the devs may take a hard look at perception levels, if it appears that stalkers are gimped and useless in PVP then perception may change, I dont think that will happen, but who knows.

Basically no one toon should be all powerfull, scappers can be hard but they can be beaten by stalkers 1 on 1, ultimatly a lot of it goes to the skill of the players, some scrappers are very hard to kill, but finding their weakness is what makes pvp interesting as by and large it can be done. Whereas before every hero decided to take the leadership pool, stalkers were the ultimate killing machines in sirens certainly 1 on 1 anyway, that had to change i'm just glad it did by heroes tweaking thier builds rather than sweeping changes from the dev's.

I don't think we can say I7 will be bad for stalkers until we reach level 50, it will be different for sure but it's too early to tell how effective we will be.
  12. You don't HAVE to team as a stalker to get kills in PVP,and you dont have to go into to PVP zones to complete any of the PVE story arc's. I'm in no way great at pvp, but can hold my own even if heroes are teamed, and running clear mind etc. i've still manage to pick them off, ok at times it's not easy. And even if they have enough perception to see you, it's still possible to get in hidden and get an AS off before they know your there, you just have to think about how your gonna do it a bit more.

What you have to also consider it that in general heros tend to team a hell of a lot more than villains and when they do they are usually a lot more effective at it, so your at a disadvantage there anyway.

But yes I can see what your saying, but at the end of the day PVP in CoX can be great, but more often than not it's unbalanced due to the ratio's of heroes vs villains, It would be nice to be able to have the ability to hide, but there's no way your going to please everyone, so we have to adapt, (like the blappers will have to), at least they havent nurfed hide it's just that theres more ways of getting +Acc than their is of getting more stealth. That or your just gonna have to find heroes who dont want to team.
  13. Being seen makes it harder to kill definatly, but I dont think its a bad thing, quite frankly being able to sit behind someone and kill them before they realise [censored] is going on I personally find boring and no challenge what so ever.

RV was alway going to be tougher, especially in the short term, as yet villains have not had a chace to try yet alone discover the finer points of their patron powers, and reaching 50 will not instantly allow us to compete against lvl 50 heroes, who's powers we havent even fought against unless you've taken part in a base raid or areana matches where heroes have full access to thier powers.

Give it time learn the pros and cons of your builds, and eventually i'm sure you wont be as weak as you think you will be, the hard part is learning to adapt which quite frankly a lot of stalkers are not interested in....only the I WIN button is good enough for some it seems.
  14. a few things i'd change you'll need 2 accuracy mods in Assasins max, and i'd stick 3 damage in there and possibly a recharge, build up needs to be a lot earlier as it goes hand in hand with AS and is every stalkers Signature attack, (in Pve anyway), again you'll only need 2 acc mods in your other attacks as well. i'd take integration as soon as it's available as well as it gives you a lot of protection which you will need before 22 where you have taken it.

I wouldnt bother with acrobatics either as you have integration. Resiliance is pretty week and not 100% neccessary, and isn't worth slotting any further than the 1 slot that comes with it.

I'd also recommend testing MoG on the test server before you take it as it's a very situational power, personally I dont like it as used wrongly you'll be very dead very quickly and i prefer a least some element of control if i'm close to death.

Assault and Tactics will only be of use to you if your going to PVP in Warburg ultimatley, and your going to be fighting other stalkers and i'm not sure how good spines/regen will be in PVP, regen isnt typical in a stalker's pvp build. I could suggest more but it's 2.20 am and i'm knackered lol
  15. I scrap quite happly with my claws regen, even when it really could use a respec, but it soloed all the way from 30-40, on relentless with little in the way of downtime, just the odd bit waiting for build up to charge on +2 bosses. Never tried a MA/Ninja so cant comment, plus claws do have some advantages.

Quick recharges, low end compared to other stalkers, they look cool, and you get a ranged attack with focus which the vast majority of the time will knockdown, same with shockwave (cone, with KD) and evicerate can crit when out of hide. Personally i think claws is quite underrated and I find it a lot more fun than my EM/EA
  16. try again

    6) I'm not sold as far as patron powers go, I cant see there's much need for a snipe, though a hold would be handy to stop hero's running.

    7) Again not so sure about pets, may be a help soloing AV's and heroes, but then i dont normally solo them as they're more fun to do in a team, i think i'll be doing some testing on the test server before i decide which path to go down when choosing a patron.
  17. lo m8, here's my 2 cents...

1)For my build stamina is a must, especially as TP is an end hog anyway, it also has a big advantage when it come to getting mobile with hurdle.

2)I hated TP to start with found it a pain to use and an end hog, lost way too much time resting cause of no end, But as you say it's handy for escaping (as we EM/MA are very squidgy) and pretty essential for pvp, plus with stamina slotted with 3 end red's you wont run out of end with tp. Personally i'd skip fly, it's slow and easily stopped with -fly, if you were to take CJ, and slot it with 3 jump SO's, combine that with 3 slotted hurdle from stamina and you essentially have sj but without the height, it also has the benefit that like TP, CJ is unsurpressed in pvp and you gain some extra defense.

    3) self heal, wouldnt bother, better off running and waiting for hide, we so squidgy i cant really see any benefit from self heal, more so when it's also interruptable.

    4) Is energy transfer worth it...HELL YES!!!! , 3 slotted for damage, it rocks, ok it doesnt benefit from hide (apart from it uses half the amount of your health, that it does out of hide) but with buildup>AS>ET, practially every blaster, troller, or defender will be dead in 2 hits.

    5) i have kinetic and entropy shields only and rarely use kinetic apart from PVE even 3 slotted your looking at only around 11% damage, but at least with stamina there's no end issue.

lol ran out of room to type see next post

    Its time...

I see far more /SR or /EA stalkers in pvp anyway, probably the rarest i've seen on union has got to regen, ninjitsu seems fairly common in pve as well.

hmm what ever happened to that novastarr guy

    Regen stalkers

I have to agree I have several stalkers, for PVE i use my lvl40 claws/regen and to be perfectly honest he rocks, I havent bothered with MoG as yet (waiting for I7 before using respec), but he's solo'd on relentless since around lvl 12 when u get placate.

At lvl 30 I was soloing relentless bosses in warburg, and was able to quite happily scrap with them in between AS recharges, which is something my EM/EA stalker could never do.

Gotta say i cant imagine a better PVE stalker than a EM/Regen, silly damage+heals+dull pain i'd be surpised if a warden could last long to get to a second AS.

At the end of the day depends on your play style, i like both my stalkers equally but for different reasons.

    E.V.I.L. Returns

hehe i did contemplating a mass forum spam, but unfortunaly it would'nt lemme post a pic of a certain purple emote currently sitting on our forum....

    shame that
  22. Went very very sweetly, gratz to all involved and to kinslayer for organising it , now if my damn toon will only copy over to the test server
  23. Tbh as long as you dont mind hit an run's then EM/EA would be a good choice, SS+stealh will give you invisibilty and the ability to get to the mish objective quickly, then when you get to the boss (most relentles mish's will have a +2 boss with either a +2 or +3 minion close by).

Then it's basically kill minion, placate boss, wait for recharge, build up+AS, couple of other attacks (depending on how much the boss hurts you), placate, one more recharge and the boss is dead, mish time start to finish usually 5-8 minutes

I did notice however that as you hit 28-29, and you started getting lvl 30+ bosses they can hit really hard, especially the Tsoo and council, to the point that I occationally got killed in 1 shot, wasnt too bad as any debt soon dissapears on relentless.
  24. here's my 2 cents...

    1) Sorry havent got a clue

    2) I too like the anim for barrage, yep is does do less damage than energy punch, but then it also has a quicker recharge, tbh the only time your gonna use it out of hide is in outbreak if you take it over energy punch, but wether it's worth taking depends on how you want to play a stalker and what secondary you decide to take. (If your going down the EM/EA route the I would'nt take it, stalker builds are tight enough as it is).

    3) Stealth is essential if you intend on doing PVP, against PVE there's not really any need for it.

    4) EA again depends on How much PVP your gonna do, I only have Kinetic and entropy shields in my build, and I only have Kinetic as I have no choice in the matter (even slotted with 3 SOs at around lvl 30 it will only give approx 11-12% resists without SO's it give 7.5% pretty weak IMHO.

Whereas Entropy Shield is a godsend, gives a nice range of protections and more importantly stops TP Foe in PVP

    5) Repultion, again down to play style, with no heals at all in EA you pretty much gonna be forced into hit and run tactics as you just dont have the HP's or the healing power to scrap, also EM's attacks are quite on the slow side, but then they do the best damage out of all the stalkers.

    6) YES !!! 6000 bounty will get you a +3 SO of your choice, but you need to cash it in before you leave sirens call or you will loose it.

7)Definatly with EM/EA you can solo relentless missions with relative ease from lvl 12 onwards providing you take placate at lvl 12.

    8) As max says soz were on union, so cant help there.

A few more little points, as a rule i've always pretty much solo'd all my stalkers, If you want to scrap and mainly want to do PVE then EM/regen would be a good choice, even with my claws/regen stalker I can stand toe to toe and scrap bosses on relentless.

Travel powers - for levelling Superspeed is awesome, (some people dont like the ascpect of no vertical movement, but it worked fine for me), it gives you the ability to really rake in xp on relentless if you concentrate on just the mission objectives (avoiding kidnap missions), but for PVP I use Combat Jumping (3x Jump SO's) and hurdle (3x Jump SO's) and Teleport, this gives you a mini super-jump and also has the added benefit that neither are supressed in PVP, a nice advantage that fits in with hit and run tactics.

If you plan to use the above travel power method, i'd recommend getting stamina as well, TP eats endurance, and if your running kinetic and entropy you will have end issues, until you get enery drain at lvl 28, but i love the fact i can escape and it has very little affect on my endurance.
