  1. Hey there,
    Yeah after reading for hours it seemed, I finally just went with the higher damage. It seemed to have the most votes.
    I am really enjoying it but have not been 50 for long. The caltrops are good fun, thanks to smiling joe for the layered procs suggestion.
    I play at +2 solo with elites. It can sting and I have to be on my toes and use the tricks ninjitsu brings but that just makes it more enjoyable.

  2. Here is my build for teaming and hopefully getting into the BAF and Lambada. I solo also about half the time due to work hours.Are there any glaring errors you experts can see. He is already 50 so ignore the weird power placements, not for leveling up. He is set up live now like this but I have respecs (but not alot more money) so hopefully I am ok.

    due to being text and not spoken word I feel I must stress that was not sarcasm.

    Now I have to admit that my build has great influence from both you and Lewis. It is kind of a combo Local Lewis build with a sprinkle of babyscid. Good ol search button.

    Ok Ok on to an actually question....

    How would you slot the Ice App? I am a bit underwhelmed by fire and I like the thought of Hibernate and a bit of defense. I cannot seem to do it without gimping one of the Ice App powers. I wish you werent stuck taking hibernate right away as I dont want Ice blast.

    Also, what is your suggestion in GD? a full damage set or a mix and match?

    You know I just realized this isnt my live build.....I removed the Hami's but cannot remember what I replaced them with. Anyway doesnt matter just curious about the above question. Thanks in advance

  6. hmmm i did some reading and thought SotW was the better one? anyway that can be changed.

    Shadow Meld is in for concept reasons but also as DefDebResist.

    Other than that there is no real concept other than I thought the power choices worked well together.

    What about slotting though rather than power choices.....how could different sets make this even better. Whenever I try to tweak it I end up mucking up the original which led me to you guys.
  7. Just checking in again to see if their are any stalker vets out there willing to help.
    I feel I should stress that I have had this stalker awhile and leveled him to 50 buying IO's as I go. The initial build above is my build now. He plays wonderfully and I have np complaints. But can he be better? Is the second build offered the epitome of nin/nin? I am even willing to go more purples if itmeans that is the only way to get the best.
    I re-iterate, I promise you I am not a guy looking for a freebie with no work invested. How can m stalker be "all that he can be"
    Maybe I didn't tell enough of what I am after. I am looking for something that can do AV solo, but still maintain teaming ability( which I am aware is a hot topic now)
    Are the above builds the best? I doubt it to be sure.
    Come on stalker community....rally to the side of a fellow stalker.

  8. Thanks Eislor for the input. I had to go in to work early today so I do not have Mids to "compare numbers".
    What I can gather from looking though (and please correct and forgive if I am way off) is that number wise they seem to be close but you have provided me a "cleaned up" build with more efficient use of IO's?
    Am I close?

    ok I abandoned my kin/nin at level 28 due to.....well I don't know what the reason was. Anyway, I had a nin/nin sitting at 45 and figured what the hell...lets get him to 50. So, I did just that...and I have him IO'ed out at a budget price. (well budget being under 500 million with lots of patience and planning)

    So I still have around 750 mil left and will use this guy to gather more influence(yes he is a hero now) to get over the 1 billion mark.

    I will show you the build EXACTLY as it is live......and I have no real complaints......but if I had a billion or so to throw on him...could he be made THAT much better?

    This is where I need your help......Maybe the build below is "just fine" but can it be made "wow", like AV handling wow....or is the powerset choice not conducive to that?

    I eagerly await your advice....and I realize that with I19 things will change too.....but thats a ways away.

  12. Yeah that's what I heard about smoke too. So how we stand is, remove stealth for CJ, the fighting line is not necessary, grab caltrops, I would still like to keep hasten and ninja run is good enough for me.
    I will post another build when I am home tonight but.....how's the slotting look?
  13. Hey guys, thanks for the input. I will remove stealth and put in combat jumping. I will consider the caltrops/smoke flash options as well but just a point of discussion: in some other (albeit older) threads there was debate on those two powers. The debate being caltrops was meh and smokeflash was not as good in practice as in theory.
    Maybe that was PVP I cannot remember.
    Also, what about my set choices? Are they not bad then?

    I just got my Grav/Storm to 34 tonight and have been slotting him with level 30ish IO sets based on Lewis's build.
    I am now at the point where you have placed the Hami-O's but I do not have them.
    Would using just a couple of acc/dmg set IO's work ok?
    Procs maybe?
    What would you guys suggest?

  19. You see, this is why i prefer this MMO to others. The quick responses with mature,valid advice. Thank you for the confirmation I needed and I will definately search for those channels on virtue and see what comes up.

    Just rolled the toon now and turned off team invite. I am a little excited to not be too "dependant" on others.

    I think I have about 1billion saved up from the other toons as well as selling recipes. Hopefully some of tose builds are within that price range. I have awhile before I worry about that though.

    One more quick question: Is 27 still a good level to start IOing for 30's. Just incase I team and exemp down sometimes?

    I have played this game for awhile now....since '04. I have managed 2 50's in that time only due to my wife not being a gamer.

    I have posted on here for advice occasionally and have received that advice in spades and with enthusiasm.

    However, I have a family, my time playing is limited and lately I have found myself AFK on teams far too often then is polite.

    So my question is this......I am getting the impression that the above sets are THE sets for quick,efficient,solo play.

    Am I correct in assuming that I could pick pretty much any of the builds I have found in searching and manage to play this game solo...even some of the supposed team needed missions and some task forces?

    thanks for all the great replies...so with regard to Pine's build is it at all possible to go widow for patron powers rather than leviathan? just for concept reasons only. I noticed in other builds that Leviathan is the choice for PvP......so maybe i would have no choice if I wanted to "casually" stroll through RV \

    also.....with only buying recipes could I keep my build under 1.5 bil...and what would Pines cost roughly....bearing in mind the market does flucuate

    There really seems to be a low population in the Stalker forums and I was looking for a build I want to put my 50 Stalker into. There were some great older guides but I was unsure of their viability in todays game.

    The build that (Louis is it?) made.....like I said...I am a newb at IO's....but is that one going to be a bit pricier?

    and is Pricier even a word?

    Also.....does assault work well for controllers? and does it work on Stoney?

    I read mixed reviews about it on here.
