You would be correct. This is an excellent build for you. Any Scrapper can solo efficiently. Some are faster than others, but all are definitely efficient in regards to solo. Katana nets you Melee/Lethal mitigation very early in the game and Willpower is a solid, steady progression throughout the game. You will not have to redraw your Katana because except for Strength of Will, the entire set is fire and forget. Very weapon friendly.
I would search your server for a family friendly SG/VG. There are plenty in the same situation as you that absolutely do not mind people that need to AFK for family matters or other things. This is a sub forum where people get heavy into min/maxing, but don't let that be any indication that this is how most of the populous is and that you should play solo for politeness' sake. 
That said, no begging is needed for builds around here. The only reason you won't get one is if the combination just isn't played much at all.

To the OP, Katana/Willpower should serve you well from 1-50 and beyond. Admittedly, I have never played the combo (my fiancee has, though, and she loves it), but the sets are solid enough separately that there is no reason they should not rock together. Like bAss stated, Divine Avalanche, Rise to the Challenge and Quick Recovery all fairly early help you kick butt and take names.

Just rolled the toon now and turned off team invite. I am a little excited to not be too "dependant" on others.
I think I have about 1billion saved up from the other toons as well as selling recipes. Hopefully some of tose builds are within that price range. I have awhile before I worry about that though.
One more quick question: Is 27 still a good level to start IOing for 30's. Just incase I team and exemp down sometimes?
1 billion would be more than enough to put together quite a good build. You won't get a bazillion purples or anything, but you will be able to afford plenty of decent sets. For that matter, you would still be plenty survivable and deadly with a 50 mil build - willpower lends itself to that pretty well.
I personally get all of my IOs in the 30ish range myself, for the exact same reason. By that point the enhancement percentages are most of the way to their level 50 values, and the increase is flattening out. You do give up *some* enhancement, but it's really not that big of a difference overall - and it could be worth it even solo if you decide to do some ouro flashbacks at any point.

I have played this game for awhile now....since '04. I have managed 2 50's in that time only due to my wife not being a gamer.
I have posted on here for advice occasionally and have received that advice in spades and with enthusiasm.
However, I have a family, my time playing is limited and lately I have found myself AFK on teams far too often then is polite.
So my question is this......I am getting the impression that the above sets are THE sets for quick,efficient,solo play.
Am I correct in assuming that I could pick pretty much any of the builds I have found in searching and manage to play this game solo...even some of the supposed team needed missions and some task forces?
