The only contests I'm aware of are the one we had at launch, where Numina was created by a player, and one we're going to have in the future that will see one of our heroes joining the Phalanx.
-
I make a costume that not only fits the character's theme, but something I could actually see the character choosing to wear themselves. That and I'm a huge fan of simplicity.
-
They changed it awhile back. Has something to do with the amount of stress having pets out puts on the servers. We now have more players and more vanity pets than before, so the devs put a limit of one vanity pet out at a time on us to keep the servers healthy.
-
Most folks already covered the ones I read, but here's a few more I didn't see.
Boxer Hockey
Fanboys
and Three Word Phrase, which sometimes gets NSFW -
((One last reminder, we'll be putting the smackdown on Deathsurge in less than an hour. If you're interested in RPing your vigilante, rogue, or villain then meet on up at Cap Au Diable's University at 8pm EST.))

Dead.
In the villain version, Arachnos actually helps you along in trying to find Darrin Wade whenever a hero tries to thwart you. I think Arachnos only got involved because business was going on in their turf where heroes were interrupting a villain's plans, and they didn't like that. I believe Ice Mistral actually comes right out and says that when the bar room brawl happens. -
(Just a reminder I will be running this tomorrow at 8pm EST.)

I never thought the two actually "hated" each other. Hate's a pretty strong word, and obviously States didn't hate Recluse if he thought of his former best friend in his last moments. As much as they clashed and had different ideals, I don't think hatred would be the best word to describe the relationship they had.
I imagine Recluse being incredibly pissed, not only that he lost of the honor of defeating his biggest opponent, but that someone that was once so close to him is now gone forever. I imagine it would unnerve Recluse quite a bit, actually. -
I'm so sorry to hear this. I never knew her personally, but I always thought of her as a really cool player back when I was in RP Virtue.
My best wishes to her family and friends. -
Quote:Mocking in and of itself is hostile. Next time, rather than asking me to provide "any other bad ideas from failing competitors I'd like to see ruin this game" why not tell me why exactly it's a bad idea and how it would actually cause our game to fail and leave it at that?Mocking dismissal of a bad idea does not equate to hostility.
-
Quote:Just because the game isn't that great overall doesn't mean it has zero good ideas. I happened to of loved the name policy about CO, and I don't see how borrowing good ideas from other sources will cause CoH to do poorly.Yes CO does do that and CO sucks. Got any other bad ideas from failing competitors you'd like to see ruin this game?
And thank you for the hostility. I was just trying to make a simple suggestion. -
After a long day's work of crime and villainy one of your contacts approaches you with some interesting information. A criminal known only as Show Stopper is apparently looking for villains, rogues, and mercenaries to aid him with a task. Thinking for a moment, the name Show Stopper seems familiar. Didn't he run a secret travelling circus crime circle a few years back? You don't really remember, or maybe you just don't care. But the job itself seems interesting enough.
This Show Stopper wants some help luring out Deathsurge, the giant electrical beast in Cap au Diable, and defeating him. Simple enough. Villains pull it off all the time without breaking a sweat. And the reward is a pretty generous amount of cash. You could really use the easy money. Or maybe you just want an excuse to spread your unique brand of evil. You probably aren't the only one with the info of this job, either. This will give you a good opportunity to survey your competition, or maybe even make a few useful allies. Should be fun.
((Description: Villains, rogues, and mercenaries defeating 100 Gremlins and Deathsurge.
Location: Cap Au Diable
Time and Date: Friday, January 20th, at 8pm EST
Level: 1-50
Alignment: Villain, Rogue, Vigilante
Reward: Electrician and Surging badges
I'll be running an IC run of luring out and defeating Deathsurge in Cap au Diable. We will divide up into small groups among a league and defeat the 100 Gremlins required to bring him out, then fight him ourselves. If we do it quickly enough, we may try again.
It will be this Friday night at 8pm EST, and we'll be meeting up at the University. If you have any questions or concerns, PM me or contact me in game at @X-zero.)) -
Since we have globals, I wouldn't mind seeing a new system brought in where people can have the same name. Would free up all these problems about not being able to come up with a good name 'cause every variation of the two words that describe your character are taken.
I believe CO does this, and Steam has a system in place like this, as well, and I haven't seen any actual issues with either. -
Quote:Ruladak the Strong, not Ruladak the Ravager. That's what she meant. Rularuu himself is the Ravager. They messed up the aspect's title.Think you are confused by the lore, Ruladak the Ravager =/= Rularuu.
Ruladak is a splintered "personality" of Rularuu. Basically in the shard Rularuu is split into I believe 8 personalities all the way to Faathim the Kind. Wade is trying to become Rularuu the pieced to whole version. -
Quote:Reminds me of Goku.I liked that part too. My Fire/Fire scrap tried to revive him and when she couldn't, I felt like Statesman was with his family, finally at peace, and, thanks to the wisdom of his wife, acknowledged that we could be be strong enough to take up where he left off
And so, his spirit refused to return.
Statesman is probably gonna go fight in some tournament in heaven to figure out just who is the greatest hero of all time, now. -
It's a game. Play and have fun, and don't give a damn what grumpy people on the forums have to say.
-
Quote:Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he's being subtly directed by Rularuu himself mentally or via some agent or something. Darrin thinks he's got everything he needs to free Rularuu and take his power, but Rularuu will easily break free from anything Darrin uses to bind him. He probably won't kill Darrin, allowing him to live to see the destruction he'll cause now that he's freed, and that's where the villain/hero will probably step in, to get their final battle with Darrin and have revenge/justice.I also predicted that it would be Wade that got Statesman's powers and I was correct about that. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...highlight=wadeOn a discussion note, Wade is now a full Incarnate with Statesman's powers. Is he completely free from the Well? This was the discussion I was trying to bring up (See the linked thread) over a month ago.
Basically we the players are taking the "slow" Incarnate path to become full Incarnates in order to be free of the Well -- Wade has seemed to find a fast path that is free of all of the Well's influence.
Or is he free? -
Not gonna lie, that cut scene was awesome.
Ran the villain side version, and I enjoyed having the plan sorta crumble after so many victories. Also loved how Arachnos treats you like someone worth having around to cause mayhem.
But States's death. Seriously, that made me actually feel for the character a bit. It was very well done, in my opinion. I just wish there were more stories before this where you get to see better glimpses of the man so you can feel a little more emotionally attached.
Also, weather effects gonna happen in the future? We got that semi-snow in the Winter Event, and now this. -
