Also, you must be at least level 15 to earn Predator (since that requires logging out in a PvP zone, and Bloody Bay is the lowest such zone.)
Likewise, you must be at least 35 to get Cimeroran, and 25 for Chronologist (Ouroboros)
And my retired USAF Reservist is not too happy that Pilot requires one to be a villain. They really need to get rid of Commuter and replace it with Pilot (plenty of choppers heroside that we can log out next to) -

Quote:For the 4 arcs combined, there's a total of 39 merits to be had. And there's nothing stopping anyone from opening an arc then going and do other stuff, coming back to the Hollws arc once its grey and collecting the merits.Concerning the OP and Atta: I'm kinda shocked that people still do the Hollows, I mean, it is a good place to cut your teeth but even on Virtue it seems like another dead zone.
But anyway, I support any revamped content. Wish they would add more variety to paper/radio missions.
Granted, if you are wanting all the merits from the zone, this only really works with the final arc, what with you having to get through the others first, but its still an easy load of merits, and you don't have to worry about having too may arcs open, since these are mini arcs with no known limit. -
Lt. Belchy is usually a pushover. I can't think of any villain ATs I've played that have not been able to solo him (even my lowly Stalker was able to put the vamp down. Granted, it was a tough fight for him (down to the wire for a change) if I remember correctly, but Bow Chicka Bow Wow was triumphant at the end.

Quote:Procs work at all levels as long as the power is available. This is why a level 50 Unbounded Leap or Celerity Stealth will work when exemped to level 1 if it is slotted in Sprint, and why a Devastation: Chance for Hold will work at level 1 if slotted in a single target ranged attack that was taken at that level. And Kinetic Combat: Chance for Knockdown should also work when exemped to 1 if it is slotted in Brawl.Especially for procs, there's no reason you should use level 50s (other than availability). People pay a premium for lower level procs and -KB IOs so that they can use them at lower levels.
It's the global bonus IOs (like the afore-mentioned KB protections for example), that stop working if exemped down beyond 3 levels lower than the enhancement's level.
With the procs, you are perfectly fine taking the higher level versions, unless you are going for the set bonuses that particular series of enhancement gives. But if it's just a one-shot (like if you are frankenslotting without regard to the bonuses), then go for the higher ones. -
Quote:Considering that you get it at level 1, it is an inherent for everyone. But it is an inherent that can thankfully be enhanced.I didn't read the whole thread, but I agree that Brawl should be an inherent power.
--NT
Also, it does show up in the powers list under Inherents (just like Sprint). -
Quote:To achieve that, you would have to make it to 50 without ever fighting (or at least without ever aggroing)...I want to see somebody play a character to 50 with only Brawl as their attack power, never using any other power, even Sprint. That way, they can say that they hit 50 without ever burning a point of endurance.
1: Clockwork
2: Outcasts
3: Circle of Thorns
4: Freaks
5: Cabal
6: Malta
7: Rogue Vanguard
And anything else I may have missed that drains endurance. -
Quote:I coulda sworn I had encountered Frosty as an AV. Guess not though, seeing that the Wiki describes him as an EB.Only Dr. V, Maestro, the Envoy and Terra out those will scale up to AV.
Ah well, he should be upgraded to AV status. And along with that, Keystone (in the same mission) should be promoted to EB. -
Quote:1: Frostfire (5-9)Yay, you fought them and didn't die. So have I. That isn't the point. There is no story reason for those guys to be AVs, aside from "these guys are more important than the goons, let's make them AVs." Heroes fight four AVs in that zone, in four fairly short arcs. Heroes fight four AVs outside that zone, in all the non-TF content up to level 40.
2: Atta (12-14)
3: Doctor Vahzilok (15-19)
4: Heracles (20-24)
5: Maestro (20-24)
6: Envoy of Shadow (35-39)
7: Terra (35-39)
I am guessing that Atta and Heracles scale up to AV status with a big team or with the difficulty set appropriately/ But even if they don't, that is still more than 4 before 40. Did I miss any here? -
Quote:The devs should hold a big AE contest where participants can pick any one of the old missions and completely rewrite it in the Architect. (update dialog, tweak plots, etc). Then the best ones get to replace their original versions outside of AE. Perhaps the top three can earn the submitters a bunch of reward merits to be applied to one character of his or her choosing. After that -- all the old, by-the-numbers missions that nobody ever recalls because they're so drearily standard and uneventful. You know the ones -- the ones with dull dialogue, underdeveloped plot, poor or missing motivation and no followthrough. The ones where it doesn't really matter which enemy group you're fighting, because the whole thing is utterly replaceable.

Missions that need changed...
1: Click the glowies simultaneously missions need redone to remove that requirement (either that or rework the system so it is not possible for the contacts to force you to take it before they will offer anything else).
2: Kill All missions... If the mission is a kill all, then say so, either in the brief from the contact or in the objectives on the nav bar. Example last night was one from Kestrel: Save the Paragon Protectors from the Circle of Thorns. Even after you save them, you still have to defeat everything in the mission to complete it. There is no indication anywhere in the briefing or elsewhere to indicate this requirement.
3: Unannounced timed missions. I know that there is at least one of these remaining. There's a low level mission you get to defeat a bunch of outcasts or something. Then as soon as you complete it, you get sent on a timed mission without any warning whatsoever (and yes, I looked carefully through the brief several times and saw absolutely nothing that would indicate it was going to put you on a timed mission.)
Meg Mason's first mission is another that gives no indication that it is timed until after you accept it. All of the missions from Marcus Valerius in Cimerora are like this too. -
It happened to me too. I had to exit via Ourburritos to get out. The character I got stuck with was real short, so it looked like she was stuck on the bottom tip of the crystal.

I have some helpful advice to anyone who is in charge of creating these filters, or to anyone who may one day be tasked with creating these filters.
Please totally ignore the existence of Urban Dictionary. If you use Urban Dictionary as a reference for what words might be deemed offensive, then chances are, the majority of the English language (and probably several other languages as well) will end up being censored. -

And don't forget to take a break at some point so you can take your lunch at Arrrrrrrby's.

Or Slashdotters...or 4Channers, or something like that.
Quote:"We don't want to spook them."
Only thing I could think of was CIA agents declared spook to be offensive as a reference to their jobs. -
Quote:From my own experience, it is always KD, and would never turn to KB.Dayum! good call! wouldn't that knockdown turn into kb after a while? I haven't toyed around with that proc yet.
Quote:Even noble and laudable intentions such as slotting it with a kockdown IO would require me to ensure I'm getting an accuracy boost somewhere, or else it'd just miss, probably at a time when much laughs would be had otherwise.
1: It recharges fast enough to make the occasional miss unnoticeable.
2: Most likely by the late 20s or early 30s, you should have some sort of global ACC or To Hit buff/bonus going, which would make up for not having ACC in Brawl. -
I think the most I would do is 2 slot it. 1 Accuracy and 1 Kinetic Combat: Chance for Knockdown. And that is only if slotting is not so tight that I can't spare that one. Otherwise, it just gets an Accuracy (until the character is high enough to slot K-Combat.)

Quote:That just caused me to run a random name check. If anyone is looking for a good name for some sort of Plant Dominator on Virtue, Marquis de Sod is available.Dammit, Shareholder-09 was the one I wanted for a good robot gone bad!
I personally find the fact I can't have certain names more of a challenge for me in the creation process. There has been only a handful of times in my (near) 4 years that I've had a name I wanted not available, but I found alternatives and I've actually ended liking them more than my original concept.
Of course this is down to my experience only and my rather disturbing Angelo-Germanic-French-Latin-Mythological-Demonological-Whacky naming conventions.
I admit I do find it disheartending still to see folks that find the name Star is taken and decide to take xXxStarxXx instead of finding a synonym or in some cases just affixing a title, e.g. Lord Star, Lady Star, Marquis StarPity Pain Domination is not available as a Dom secondary.

Quote:I think it is safe to say that it has not been run for at least 650 days.We have no way of knowing when they run the name purge script, or how many times they have done it.
When they reinstated the policy (and changed the cutoff from lv35 to lv5), they told us the only announcement we'd get is if the policy changes. They might be running the script every time the server goes down for maintenance, or they may have never run it since the policy change. We have no way of knowing.
Why?
The throw-away names I used for the padding characters in my trial accounts I created back when that big SG Prestige Grant went through still show as in use. And those characters have not been logged in in the past 650 days. (Don't worry. They are names no one would want... Pony-01, Pony-02, Claymore-03, Scoundrel-05, Shareholder-09, etc...) -
Rikti: Punch the monkey and win...er...$50. Yeah. That's it. $50!!! Come on. Give it a good smack. (Heh-heh-heh)

Quote:My most recent of such moments was just a week or so ago when I managed to grab on Virtue, Holly Day. Her primary purpose will be to serve as my SG's purchasing agent for the Winter's Gift Slow Resistance IOs come Winter Event time, what with there being no option to choose the level at purchase. So, she is level 10 and will stay that way until after the event. After that, she can resume her heroing career. There are those rare moments of unexpected glee when you half heartedly check a name you know must have been taken, only to get the 'This character name is available' message.
Yeah. Very surprising when I found the name was available. -
CoT (at least the Behemoths): Here's the Beef
Snakes: Badger Badger Badger Badger
Devouring Earth: Mushroom! Mushroom!
Clockwork (because once they lock onto you, you can't shake them): Never gonna give you up. Never gonna let you down. Never gonna run around and desert you.
Banished Pantheon:
1 - Grrr. Argh!
2 - Dude! Where's my pants? (They've been banished).

Quote:Yeah, legally, they can make any claim they want. Still does not make it valid. And my final thought on this matter was something I realized as I was drifting off to sleep last night. In the license, the publisher can choose to prohibit backups. Enforcement may be another thing, but legally, the publisher can put that prohibition into the license contract. Most of the time it would be a dumb thing to do as there are technical ways to add protection and the inconvenience to the user would be high, but it could be done.
If any claims of "no backing up" were valid and enforceable, then every time you backed up your hard drive (whether by imaging or any other means), then you would be in violation.
Anyway, this has been an interesting discussion, and a big thanks to everyone for keeping it civil (let's keep it that way... SNACKCAKE!!!)
